I doubt many globals (Shen/Pantheon/Soraka/Karthus) will see a similar change. This was a needed nerf to TF to make him a little more even with the rest of the carries. His doubly awesome ult is what makes him banned so often in ranked games, whereas a champion like Shen is picked much less frequently.

I think this is a nerf in the right direction (he still has his global champion reveal), but I'm wondering if the range might be a bit too short. He already has a revealed channel when he teleports, so it's not as sudden as Nocturne's ult.

EDIT: Apparently Pantheon's ult IS seeing a similar nerf, but his base stats are being buffed to compensate. Only global teleports are being hit. No word on shen yet.
Thanks to Jovy for the sig!

People always QQ about global ults. I've even had people call me OP when I was playing GP just because of my ult being global(this was before they started changing him).

However! TF's ult is ridiculously good. Especially at higher elos, where people don't just telefeed. TF has some of the best map control in the game. A nerf might be in order, but I could swing either way there. He'll still be able to push pretty well, he'll just be slightly less functional as an assassin, the way the range nerfs are being desribed.

Soraka is fine. Leave her alone.

Karthus' Ult is fine.... I don't think it needs a nerf, really.

No global ult is anti-fun, to me, but TF's comes damn close. HE'S ALWAYS THERE TO STRIKE YOU DOWN! I play TF sometimes, though, but have yet to get all that good with him.

I don't care about my rep, but you can +rep if you want to.

The only thing TF's ult gives him in advantage is picking his fight. If I see a recalling fiddle, with about half health, but there is also an ashe with full health just farming. I am of course going after the fiddle because he is the easier target. So I kill fiddle easily, easy gold, but why not go after the ashe?

While I might be able to take the ashe, she is much more diffcult, but she can also turn the tides against me. She has stun like me, so if I don't finish her within the first burst I could very well be killed.

Then TF is sub-par as a carry. His burst is not as good as Malz, Kass, or leblanc. He has short range, and movement speed. To complete his burst he has to put himself in complete danger with a gold card overhead saying, "HEY I"M GONNA STUN YOU!"

Now as dps, his range and movement speed give him the same problem. Ashe, may move slower, but she can kite a TF easy, same with kog, and ezeral. They have slows or escapes allowing them to put distance between the short range TF.

That is why the global part of his ult was important. It allows him to postion himself correctly in teamfights, so they don't get away. It is without a doubt the only thing that makes him an assassin, and now that Riot is nerfing that....time to make him a support.

agreed with rudmed, all of tf's utility comes form his ult. Nerfing that will turn him into the GP of a few patches ago when his ult shrunk and he lost the ability to kill minions, in other words, useless.

For those wondering:

Shen's Stand United, Karthus' Requiem, Soraka's Wish, Ashe's Enchanted Crystal Arrow, and Ezreal's Trueshot Barrage will not be affected by this.

Riot is only concerned with global teleports.

Other globals are considered balanced because they do not necessarily allow you to exert your entire kit's power along with the element of surprise. To do that, you actually need to already be present in the fight.
The only exception being Shen, whose ultimate is anchored to allies, meaning his choices on target locations are much more limited.

What kind of surprise does a giant Eye over your head+a swirl of RED cards goig HEY IM OVER HERE IM COMING FOR YOU. The warning signs are huge and TF ulting it does not always assure a kill. It is much more useful as map control ability with the added bonus of letting you jump into a team fight when you were pushing a lane moments before.

I do not think this nerf will be very beneficial ESPECIALLY because thus far they are not buffing any of his base stats. This is an attempt to suck the community off. They'll put it back eventually.....

This is just stupid.

I'm starting to think the players know TF better then Riot because this is Riot's picture.

Q. TF= Top Ban why?
A: Global teleportation too much split pushing power.

Q: Is there a solution for said problem?
A: Summoner spell Tele- *ERROR* No.

Q: How to fix Champion.
A: Nerf ultimate to terrible range.

Q: Compenstatory Buffs?
A: No, due to him being top ban leads us to believe his abillites are fine.

Q: Will it kill the champion?
A: Yes...*Overidden* No.

That's what I was thinking Rud. AP is a late game poker and AD is a hard carry. There is no middle ground really. So nerfing his ult and not compensating him makes him useless when I could play Corki (which they're nerfing too apparently....) with Teleport and do what TF can do now....It's just idiotic.

I think he will be fine if the range can reach top and bot from mid. Really global teleport tf is just not fun to play against, and nearly all of them carry summoner spell teleport as well, not a single champion can compete with that sort of mobility. I only got to play him once in ranked and I won quite easily.

You don't need global range to position yourself correctly, now your split pushing ability has just been nerfed a little.

Many of time after a team fight in my base if I got low I'd run to my well.. When the enemy leaves I ulti and find those who hung aroud too long. It's als great to help pick someone off when they are alone in a lane (if you think you can beat them). The benefit to his mobility makes up for his lack of damage. He can hit hard as a nuke or DPS but not as well as other champs who exude more range. The utility of the spell makes TF who he is. Nerfing that whoops his ***, even if it is slight. Not compensating him whoops his *** even more.
