Would running a simple Atmogs Combo qualify as Tankplank? If so... then that's what I'm running. I see some hate for it, but my gangplank build has changed SOOOOO much. Before "Tankplank", which is:
Mercury's Treads Warmog's Armor Atma's Impaler Youmuu's Ghostblade Phantom Dancer Infinity Edge

Before, my build was:
Mercury's Treads Banshee's Veil Phantom Dancer Infinity Edge Bloodthirster Youmuu's Ghostblade

I'd like to have opinions on these builds. Should I work in Trinity Force? I've never used it. This build is expensive enough, and I feel it takes to long to build, when I should be prioritizing IE and other items. I'd rarely ever finish it, seeing as people almost always surrender, and even as Poppy, when it's my second finished item, I get it only about 60% of the time.

I don't care about my rep, but you can +rep if you want to.

That's not tankplank, that's offtankplank. (oh yes)

That seems like a pretty good build. I think Trinity may be better than Phantom Dancer, but I'm not sure.

Why thank you searz... I played a TON of gangplank. I kinda fell off the wagon once they started changing him, and I played about 300 games with him.

Trinity just... doesn't seem like that much of a boost for that much money! Phantom Dancer just seems like a great item for Gangplank. Currently, when I DO play gangplank, I go for the first build mentioned.

I don't care about my rep, but you can +rep if you want to.

I think Trinity is better, but as I said; I'm not 100%.

I use quite a similar build and find it to work wonders ^^

But I'd classify it as off-tankplank, since you actually don't have more than 2 survivability items.

ya that's offtankplank and I occasionally play that. usually i start off with a philo stone or avarice blade depending of whether i'm laning with support or not and then boots and then the gold per 5 i didn't get. Then I work on infinity edge followed by warmogs then atma's. After that I get situational items. Force of nature is really good too allows you to completely ignore lifesteal and gives you defense.

Thats not even offtankplank, thats tanky dps plank imo.

This is how I personally classify.
Offtank - 1-2 damage items, boots and the rest tanky gear
Tanky DPS - 3-4 damage items, boots, and 1-2 tanky items

You're only defensive items in that build for "offtank" are Warmogs, and Atma's.

Anyways, Triforce is better than PD in that build imo, it also scales with your Atma's.
An early game Sheen and Zeal (in that order) is imo the best way to go.

Well.... Trinity force is more geared towards pimping your Parrrley to as big a buke as possible. But I never notice a difference. I think the mobility and 1v1 power(as well as the better cost) of Phantom Dancer makes it a better choice for Gangplank.
