I think you're mistaken.
The 2500 and 2600 are pretty much the same cpu, just that 2600 has hyperthreading and overclocks ~5% better than 2500, maybe (5% really is NOTHING though..).
Also; Hyperthreading won't matter in most applications.

Well, if you're ok with spending 60% more money on 10% better performace then go ahead.
I'm personally not made of gold though, so I'd go for the better price/performance.
