Well, if you're ok with spending 60% more money on 10% better performace then go ahead.

I'm personally not made of gold though, so I'd go for the better price/performance.

You don't have to be made of gold to sell your body.

But laptops have totally different CPUs. They remodel them for laptops and they lose a lot of power.

True dat.
"I saw [Twilight: Eclipse] in theaters with a girl I was dating at the time. I spent more time staring at my toes and wiggling them than I did watching this abomination. When Edward proposed to Blank Face, I finally looked up with a revelation.
I blurted out loud, in a dead silent theater full of teenage girls on opening night "Wait a minute, Edward has no blood flow. How does he get an erection?" I heard several men laughing, and had several girls turn and stare at me.

I did not get laid that night." - Berengier817

The chip architecture of the 2500k is different, too (if I'm not mistaken).

I think you're mistaken.

The 2500 and 2600 are pretty much the same cpu, just that 2600 has hyperthreading and overclocks ~5% better than 2500, maybe (5% really is NOTHING though..).

Also; Hyperthreading won't matter in most applications.
