Most of Gnar's trade and all in power in lane is from auto attacks and his three-hit passive; Shen can counter engage on you once you go in and use his E-Q-W combo to out trade you everytime. Against shen just focus on poke, if you're running guardian switch your secondary tree to Absolute Focus + Scorch

is a very strong and flexible support. His provides strong consistent poke in lane which allows him to soften up targets to prepare them for an all in with his combo. He has very strong early lane item spikes with and being very valuable early purchases on . Out of lane is one of the best teamfighting supports in all of league. A good can single-handedly win a teamfight.

-Will get flamed at pick phase
-High skill floor
-Steep learning curve
Playing support requires a strong understanding of every aspect of the hero to succeed. is a decently difficult champion so if you don't have a few games on it you will likely feed and lose.
