Threats & Synergies
Ahri
Ahri is a champion with high mobility, High damage output, and a charm you can easily die by if you don't predict it. Make sure you only go for her when you know her flash and ults are down. Hide behind your minion as much as you can and try to focus on just pushing your lane with your ult.
Syndra
Syndra has high CC and extremely high damage output. It is necessary you buy mobility and mercury tread boots. Never try to fight her alone, jsut insta-push your lane with your ult till your jungler decides to gank you.
Zed
Zed is quite easy. pre-6 auto him down to half HP and maybe try to bait with your passive, Only throw out your Q towards him when he used his shadow (W). After 6 you just wait for him to ult you, place your Ultimate at your own feet and throw your Q behind yourself as soon as he becomes visible again. Then E, ignite and let your ultimate tick him down. If lucky he'll die at that moment, but expect him to want to jump back to his Ultimate shadow.
Talon
Same deal as Zed, however, Talon's leap (Q) can juke the stun of your (Q). Causing you to miss much of your damage and be punished harshly. Your wall (W) won't help you here, his Parkour (E) can jump over it every time.
Fizz
You'll have to play this lane very diffrent from any other. Normally Fizz is a counter to Anivia, and a lot of people pick Fizz into Anicia for this reason. And understandably, if he gets ahead of you, you can't come back untill late-game. Pre-6 you constantly auto attack him whenever you can, and through out your Frostbite (E) until you successfully bait his Trickster ability (E) out. Now you through out your Q and most likely one-shot him if he builds squishy. After 6 YOu ned to predict and avoid his ult. Or bait him into towerdiving you. Both are in your favour if you play it right. (AND NEVER COUNTER ROAM AGAINST FIZZ, HE CAN FUCK YOU UP IF YOU ARE OUT OF POSITION AND ALONE!)
Tryndamere
Pre-6 you can fight Tryndamere, bait out his Gap Closer (E), and then hit him with everything you've got, your Wall is very good in this matchup for when he wants to chase you. But at all times it is especially important that you keep your distance from him, stay close to your tower or under if you have to. However after 6 you can not fight him anymore, unless he tower-dives you. What you have to do from here is be everywhere that he rotates to and tries to splittpush. You insta-push that lane, with your ult and stay till you have no more mana, then back and hope for your team to be able to 4v4 the other team. If not, you'll have to join them, and hopefully you'll be able to do both things at the same time.
Veigar
Veigar is very easy, you can play aggressive towards him, try to avoid his (Q) by standing behind your minions and bait out his E, to not get hit by the walls. That all you have to do. If he decides to walk up to you, he'll drop some damge on you, if you can't avoid it, take that damage, but also drop him your full combo, Ultimate and ignite. He won't survive if he builds squishy. Late-game you might have to watch out for him though.
Vel'Koz
Vel'Koz has high damage, a large range but his is very immobile just like Anivia. Hide behind your minions, if he for the splitting missile (Q) try to predict when it'll explode and avoid it. You however can throw out your Q as much as you like, he can't really do anything against you. But try not to stand too close to him, his (E) will CC you and you'll lose your ultimate damage if you are so unfortunate. Additionally, when he channels his ultimate, you can either stun with with your (Q) or place your Wall (W) Ontop of him to make him cancel it.
Corki
AD ranged champions can fuck you up pretty good, and so Corki is no exception, I am never truly sure how to beat him myself, but after his Valkyrie (W) is used, try to place your ult underneath him (R), stun him (Q), Forstbite him (E) and drop ignite and let the damage tick him off till he dies or flashes out. Getting your jungler to come and gank you is a high plus.
Ekko
Auto attack him constantly in lane, and try to bait out his blink (E) When he is at point blank range you drop your Q-E combo on him immediately and try to back off while he's stunned. After 6 he might try to towerdive you, make sure your passive is up or he can execute you, do not underestimate his damage. But try to stun him under your tower, drop your E. But don't drop ignite if his Ultimate is available, it will be for naught.
Akali
Akali. High mobility, Dangerously high damage and kite potential. Pre-6 you can try to constantly auto attack her, but use your Q only when you think she isn't anticipating it, or if she decides to chase after you. (She'll usually chase you after putting down her Mark (Q) and shroud (W) After 6 you have to stay under your tower at all times and hope for a gank. Use your ult and range to stay out of her mild-range. If she gets too close, you might die, even if you have your passive up. She is way too dangerous for you.
Annie
Annie is never fun to play against, Mild-range, High damage and a long-ass stun. Try to hit her with your stun (Q) at max range. Then drop your load on her and hope that she dies before the stun ends, otherwise We're seving chicken tonight.
Aurelion Sol
Anivia is a Large counter towards Aurelion Sol, Get close to him, Stun him, drop your combo, and make him bathe in your Ult, wall him so that he stays in your ult and can't escape. Zhonyas would be good when fighting him. By the fact you can avoid his stun, save time and still tick him down with your Ultime (R) if it's active at the same time. Just don't be afraid of him.Well unless he has a lead from ganking other lanes so often.
Riven
Riven, you'll never want to be close to her, the stun (W) can fuck you up, aswell as her Third Wind-slash (Q) Be sure that if you happen to get bursted down to below 25% HP, you flash to either side of yourself, predicting and avoidding her execute (R). However if oyu successfully kite her using brushes you'll win your trades easy.
Amumu
Amumu is a jungler you very much wouldn't like to be up against. His CC can kill you, and if he builds AP he can One-shot you. Quite literally if he lands his Ultimate, you are fucked, unless he or his team doesn't go for you. Not much to say than avoidat all cost.
Cho'Gath
Cho'gath is a pretty easy opponent to understand when you fight him, you know he wants to do, land his Knock-up (Q), his Silence (W), auto-auto and Feast (R). While he isn't terrible to play agaisnt, his Q ability is hard to avoid because by default Anivia is very immobile. The way you fight is as follows: Wait for him to go for you then when he gets close enough, drop your stun (Q) on his face, E right after and make him bathe in your ult. Try to avoid his E as that would be the first thing he wants to do to you when he's free of his stun. If you are successful, Wall him if he tries to flee, or get close to you. Just so he stays in your ult longer. By now your E should be off cooldown again, so hit him with another shot. Chase him if he flees but don't get greedy. Nevr towerdive him unless you know you'll only take one tower shot. A knock-up is all it takes for him to win the tower-dive.
Brand
Brand is a 50-50 lane, the best mage wins. You can't prevent his high-damage potential, but try to avoid his Stun combo (Q). Throwing out your Q willy-nilly is okay in this match up. You land your Stun, it's a kill, if you don't. Try again later. Just be careful of standing close to your minions. His E and R can lead to that turning in his favour.
Cassiopeia
Don't be afraid of Cassio pre-6 But still try to avoid her 'Q' and 'W' since it enables her to kill you with 5 ticks of her E ability. Go all in at level 2, drop your ignite early and burn a potion of corruptin even if you are at full health, you need all the damage you can possibly output. She'll either try to fight you or flee, but it most cases flee. When she's low you zone her off the minions and wait for the jungler to come by for an easy kill. Or cheese her into taking a few hits at the minions before you finish her off with your damage combo. After level 6 it's the same deal, Just avoid her ultimate and you win. (REMINDER, IF YOU FEEL CASSIO IS LURKING IN A BRUSH, DON'T FACE CHECK, JUST GO BACK TO YOUR TOWER. It's her only advantage on you.)
Ezreal
You can keep thorwing out your Q against this AP-AD carry, but except him to blink (E) out of your Stun (Q)'s way before it lands, if you miss it, just play safe till you can try again. Also never take his full combo to the face unless you are -FAR- under your tower, your passive won't save you if he bursts you down. He can easily drain 60-80% of your Max health in one full combo, and finish you off with his ultimate. Predict it when he uses it.
Azir
Azir is pretty harsh to be up against. 3 Q combos and you are dead, for if you do happen to be hit by the soldiers' movement Azir will land at least 2 auto attacks on you, worst thing is if he hasmore than onesoldier hitting you at a time. And so, if you do happen to get into your passive, Azir will most likely still be able to get you, even if oyu are under your tower. His ult at level 6 is also unavoidable, so you have ot flash prematurely out of his range. When all his Cooldowns are out or have no mana, that's when you go in, otherwise only time to fight him at levels 1-3 and pray for your jungler to come gank you.
Fiddlesticks
His silence and fear can mess you up pretty bad for you. You can't prematurely land your stun, and your ultimate will go on cooldown if you've placed it. Best thing is to wait for mid-late game. Fight him with your team, he won't stand a chance, hje usually always builds squishy. Anyway, his CC and heal are the only things you have to watch out for. Otherwise you annihilate him.
Yasuo
Yasuo is a hard counter to you.His Wind wall is annoying and extremely hard ot bait out, but if oyu do, remember that it has a long-ass cooldown, so you are free to poke him. However a good yasuo will only burn his windwall when he sees your Q. His E allows him to kite/dodge your Q and R easy. And his tornado (Q) can mess up your day pretty bad, for while it is a CC effect that turns your Ultimate off instantly, and makes you unable to trigger your stun effect. he can blink to your and chunk you for 60% of your Health in one combo. Plus 50% Armour pen, so you can't build agaisnt him. He's literally your worst nightmare. I recommend you stay under your tower and farm up. Let him have his lane and pray your team knows how to deal with him mid-late game. If he can get fed off you, he'll try to roam, so make sure you know where he is at all times.
Master Yi
While you can't avoid Master Yi standing upon you and constantly chunking your health down. Just bait him to use his Alpha Strike (Q) with your Frostbite pokes (E) and place your ult where you are about to walk. If you don't have your (Q) up while he's attacking you, you might be fucked. So save it for just that occasion.
Singed
While Singed isn't hard to fight, he can pretty much always gain his health back, and run out of all your Crowd Control effects, the only way to kill him is if he himself decides he wants to fight you. But most likely he'll just proxy farm your lane, and if that is the case, then let him. YOu just go out there between your and his tower and take the minions as they come up to you, don't be afraid to take damage after level 6. I recommend taking TP and buying both Tear Catalyst ASAP in this lane. Don't try to fight him, act as if you are friends, only if he goes for you should you attack him. It's important you focus on farming your lane pre-6, and buy your mana/mobility items first second you can.
Gangplank
Mainly, just watch out for his barrel combo, otherwise he's an easy kill. He might Orange (W) your stun, but you can still hit him with your E right after and that's where the last damage comes in. He is your bitch in lane, you have the overhand of him, but try to stay at bay of him, both of his Passive and his Ultimate. But he's really not a threat until he's at 5 items and has 2 Ultimate upgrades, so don't be afraid until then.
Kennen
Kennen is very hard to play agaisnt in lane. Try to avoid his Q by standing behind your minions, but don't be discouraged from autoing him as you have a bigger range, and his Electricy form change (E) does not allow him to dodge your abilities, so hit him with a Q when he goes in for the kill. Mainly just don't let him stack up his CC passive It's not fun to be CCed once, especially twice if he has Ultimate (R) up. You however have a 50-50 chance of surviving through your passive, to try to be under your tower for maximum safety and farm with your Ultimate.
Katarina
Katarina is hard to hit. Because she has the mobility from her (W) ability but also her blink of a Shun-po. (E) This matchup is entirely 50-50 but she' sstill an assassin, giving her the upper hand. Thing is, whenever she drops her dagger (Q) on you, stay far away from where it lands, and/or try to bait her into jumping to that dagger, throw your Q out to the knife prematurely and watch her jump and get stunned immediately. When she's stunned, drop your E (And ult if you have it) and then walk back behind your minions as close to your tower as possible. Do not take her full combo to the face, you will most likely die. But taking (Q)s to the face is alright, don't be scared.
Zac
Zac does have quite a bit of CC, but his damage is really lack-luster, plus his spells are easy to avoid unless you are at point blank range, see if oyu can burst him down and abuse his passive. Once he explodes into those 4 blops; place your ultimate right in the middle and just wait it out, he won't survive it, however if you think you placed your ultimate too late, try to throw out your Q right as the blops are gathering together adn finish him off with your E. Do not use your E on the blops, not all the damage will do through in his passive form.
Jax
Unless you have your Flash, Ghost or active items such as Zhonyas up, he'll land his stun on your ever time, and most likely kill you before you can escape for your tower. Try to stand long behind your minions, when the leaps after you (Q) you have to stun him immediately (Q) and cause some distance between you two. This is a very hard lane to be up again. But not impossible.
Draven
3-4 Auto attacks and you are dead, there is really no outplay-ability to be had. Stun him (Q) at a distance, and move in to throw down your Frostbite. (E) before walking away again. Do this twice and he's dead. Just make sure his team isn't zoning you off from landing your E. getting out of position is always the worst as Anivia.
Vayne
Regarding ADCs, Vayne is your worst nightmare. Her stun is too long, she can dodge your Q easy and she has a stealth ability that you really can't do anything against, winning over her is more luck that understanding. I can however recommend that when she goes into her invisibility, you place down your Ult where you think she'll be at, or at your own feet, land a frostbite (E) and try to walk away, even thoguh I know you probably can't due to the passive.
Twitch
Often than not, Twitch is easy to deal with, he might have some insane burst damage, but if you land your stun (Q) it's almost a garanteed kill each time. Just keep in mind he has his stealth ability, he might flee or turn on you. Still, an easy target.
Ashe
If you dodge her Ultimate (R) you can easily take her out, she is pretty much as immobile as you are. Don't be afraid of her.
Tristana
Tristana can be hard to deal with if she has a lead. Othersive it's her rocket jump (W) ability you need to make sure is on cooldown, she is easily able to dodge your own abilities with it, and god knows if all your ability are on cooldown at the same time you are dead. Just be careful around her and make sure you go in when her attention is drawn elsewhere.
Quinn
Quinn's leap (E) and near-sight (Q) are the worst, but her ultimate's movement speed can be dealt with. Let's start with why her abilities are that hard to deal with. Quinn's near-sight disallows you to throw down your frostbite (E) ability when you know where she is at for a short duration. Plus her leap (E) ability functions as her only real crowd control ability. When you are knocked up, you can't reactivate your Q, and your ultimate will go on Cooldown if you placed it down beforehand, additionally taking a full combo to the face can kill or at least almost kill you. So make sure you are with your team when you are up agaisnt her. As for her ultimate, you can easily smack her out of it, just Place down your ultimate to cover up different parts of the jungle when she's chasing you or your team, summoning your Wall ontop of her will also draw her out of her Ultimate (R) ability aswell.
Olaf
Pre-6 you only have to dodge his axes (Q) and stay out of his attack range, this is easily done, for when he goes to pick up his Axe or chase you, you throw your stun out for him and drop your E ontop of him, maybe throw out some auto attacks aswell to let him know he's your bitch. When he has his ultimate, the tables are slightly turned, but really not at all. When he ults and runs after you, don't throw out your (Q) and try to stun him, no. You wait till his ultimate duration is over, a good way of doing this is to dodge his axe (Q) he most likely throws after you at that same moment. And wall (W) him straight in his face so he has to walk a longer way to get to you. Place your ultimate between the two of you and watch his health drain untill his ultimate is over, throw out your Q then, and E him to chunk down all of his HP, he won't survive. (Alternatively; if you are unlucky and he gets you into your passive form, you can do the famous Anivia TP strat and Teleport to your tower moments before you happen to get into your Egg form. He can't kill you, and he won't be able to stop your back as he has no crowd control abilities, except for the slow from his axe (Q).)
Lux
Lux can be pretty annoying to deal with. (Personally, I hate this lane more than anything.) Lux's R ability can not be interrupted at all unless she dies before it goes through. Her snare (Q) is easy to dodge if you stand behind your minions, but her (E) is hte most annoying thing about playing against her. You can't avoid it at all unless she doesn't aim for you, plus if you are marked she'll try and zone you off the creepwave, and it works, but holy shit does her passive deal damage, it's just not fun. If your jungler however happen to gank your lane, you are either garanteed to get her flash, or the kill too. (She only has her Q as a means of CC, the slow from her (E) isn't enough to get you or your jungler off her back.) Just be careful, taking a full combo will garanteed burst you down into your passive form, and most likely finish you off too. (You can bait with your passive at levels 1-3, but after that, don't try to bait her anymore, it's way too dangerous.)
Miss Fortune
MF is fairly easy to deal with, however her movement speed makes her hard to catch. Also her Ultimate (R) ability is hard to avoid, you need to flash or zhonyas to get out of the way. (Taking the ability full damage will chunk you into your passive and down about 50% HP in your passive form alone.)
Poppy
Pretty much the same deal as vayne, only that instead of Vayne who deals tons of damage, Poppy has two CC abilities (Q) & (R) that's just as long as Vayne's. However Poppy is nearly unkillable, don't try to focus her, it's not worth it. YOu should however try to zone her off with your Ultimate ability. When she tackles you (Q) immediately you should drop your Stun (Q) and your E, then try to walk away safely, this isn't a problem in lane, but when teamfighting, she's able to lock you down for so long that you are unable to play at all. Stand behind your tanks and hope that she won't be able to get to you.
Kayle
Kayle used to beat Anivia up before her rework happened, now she is fairly immobile as you are, making you able to land your abilities on her more easily. But don't expect to be able ot beat her late game, focus instead on the rest of the team.
Heimerdinger
Heimer is fairly easy, I mean his turrets are easily dealt with, with your 600-basic attack range. But the champion himself is a little out of the ordinary, he has a stun (E) so try and dodge that, but his rockets (W) are that much harder to avoid, plus the chunk you for massive damage, standing behind your minions when it's available for him is a great plus in your book. His ultime is fine, you cacn deal with it as long as it's not the rockets he decides to shot after you, taking all the waves will burst you don't to your passive, I recommend flashing, sheilding or zhonyas right before it hits. Hemeir himself is pretty squishy though, he might have Zhonyas, but that's really his only defense, or barrier if he went with that.
Blitzcrank
Supports you'd rather not deal with are from worst to slightly horrid. Thresh>Blitzcrank>Tahm Kench>Alister>Leona. Blitzcrank is not fun, and for the obvious reasons you might already know, his hook (Q). If you are grabbed, you will take a full combo no matter what, it's unavoidable. His (E) will knock you up, making you unable to reactivate your (Q) to trigger your stun, and your Ult will go on Cooldown, same thing goes for his ultimate, which is a silence. You are easily locked down by him, so try to stand behind minions or your teamates, he's pretty hard to deal with as Anivia
Thresh
Supports you'd rather not deal with are from worst to slightly horrid. Thresh>Blitzcrank>Tahm Kench>Alister>Leona. Thresh is the worst support you could possibly be up against. His hook is hard to dodge, and will lock you down for 1,5 while you are unable to reactive your (Q) for the stun ability. His E will knock you up, same deal, and his Ultimate will slow you for very long and for a lot of your movement speed, most likely also be able to zone you off. Try to stand behind minions or your teamates, he's pretty hard to deal with as Anivia
Tahm Kench
Supports you'd rather not deal with are from worst to slightly horrid. Thresh>Blitzcrank>Tahm Kench>Alister>Leona. Tahm is really not that hard to deal with, but if he starts roaming and ganking all lanes like a second jungler, he becomes troublesome. We all know about his Tongue Lashing (Q) and passive stacking up to eat you (W) But what really is so annoying when playing agaisnt him is his ability to sheep herd you with his Ultimate (R) of which his is able to transport anywhere with in a short time spent. Zoning off off your tower, minions or teamates, catching you off guard and usually taking a teamate with himself. It's quite hard ot deal with.
Alistar
Supports you'd rather not deal with are from worst to slightly horrid. Thresh>Blitzcrank>Tahm Kench>Alister>Leona. Alister is alright to be fighting alone, he has his combo, but otherwise he is useless, he isn't worth your attention, just focus on the other champions, even if he goes in on you.
Leona
Supports you'd rather not deal with are from worst to slightly horrid. Thresh>Blitzcrank>Tahm Kench>Alister>Leona. Leona has quite a bit of CC, but I've noticed that a lot of Leona just burn it all at once without waiting to counter you or your teamates with her CC. She's annoying to deal with, but not worth your time, focus the other enemy champions when you can, but if she's alone she's easy to catch up to, since her abilities are all about commitment.
Yorick
Yorick can be troublesome, try to stay away from him as far as you can go, but keep in mind that he will use his (W) to make you stay in place, your auto attacks is too slow to be able ot get free from this, so I recommend to stun him (Q) and wait for the stun to end before walling him right in his face, this should save you enough time to make your escape. Insta-push your lane with your ult, and try to avoid 1v1s after level 6, he's way too tanky and his ghouls/autos hurt.
Mordekaiser
At all times, try to keep your distance from him, he chunks you for massive damages if he gets close. I advise you to get Liandry's torment and Seraph's Embrace in this matchup. 1v1s should be avoided at all cost, try to insta-push your lane but make sure he doesn't catch you, it's important he doesn't get too close to you.
Morgana
Morgana as a support is easily dealt with, it's just her shield (E) that denies crowd control you have to keep in mind, otherwise her snare (Q). IN lane she's an okay opponent, but not quite as fearsome as you'd think. Stand behind your minions to avoid her snare, you two might walk around either other and dance, but hey avoiding that snare is all that matters, her (W) will most of the time just be used ot take out the caster minions, so don't stand upon them, it won't help. Also after 6 she'll try to get close to you, drop her (R), snare you and W. If oyu are lucky you still have your passive and will survive the ordeal. She can only deal so much damage to you, and then wait another 10 seconds before trying again. You are free to be aggressive in this lane. At levels 1-4 your (Q) might even be able to take out her shield and stun her for the incoming damage, but after that it won't help, you can't do anything about it. So get her early while you have the upperhand.
Warwick
Warwick is fairly hard to deal with, but in lane you are basicly meant to do the same as if you were up agaisnt Tryndamere, except After level 6 you don't really need to stay safe under your tower. Keep your distance, slow his Attack and movement speed with your Ultimate (R), it helps a great deal! Stun him when hewants to fight you and back off again, if he builds tanky you needLiandry's torment, otherwise you won't be able to damage him at all. (At least alone.)
Teemo
Teemo's abilities are fairly useless against you, since you don't rely on your Auto attacks to do the damage for you. However if Teemo builds 'Wit's End' or other auto-attack reliant items such as Lich bane, Nashor's Tooth, BOTRK or Rageblade he will become so very troublesome to deal with. However since you have your passive, his shrooms won't devastate you unless you play like a monkey, stand in the middle of your lane, and avoid entering brushes, he most likely has placed his traps there. In lane you can throw out your Q to stun him, Teemo is very easy to hit, unless he wants to burn his flash to dodge your stun (Q). Often than not, his extra movement speed will be used to chase after you or roam around the map, but not as a means to attempt to dodge your (Q) ability at all. Placing your Ult (R) at his feet is also a great plus too, since he most likely won't be able to leave the circle without losing 50% of his HP to the ability alone.
Xerath
If you can, try to avoid picking Anivia into Xerath. And if it's too late, ask your jungle to camp your lane, a good Xerath player will play aggro; try and snipe you under your tower, and because of Anivia's low movement speed, he will land every shot time and time again. He counters Anivia, outranges her and dominates her. Play as safe as possible, and don't be afraid to recall at above 50% health, You can not dodge his Ultimate, which is his execute.
