In the rework during Season 10 Preseason Diana's kit underwent some significant changes that improved her early game lane pressure, teamfight presence, and the strength of a bruiser-style Diana in general. She's the ideal pick if you like good macro play and versatility in win condition.
Control the enemy jungle camps. Pick their carries. Get massive ultimates in teamfights and skirmishes. Split to the Nexus and backdoor the game. Everything is an option, you just decide what's best for any given game.
