Introduction

My name is Chewablebear, and this is my Tryndamere guide. Feedback is highly appreciated, negative or positive. Tryndamere is a fantastic champion that is easy to pick up and is a quite enjoyable champion, especially if the enemy team starts to rage because of you :D. I present to you this high damage and fast attack speed build. Hope you all enjoy.

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Built in sustain
+ Early game crits
+ OP ulti
+ Amazing scaling
+ Super push late game
Tryndamere is a very carry like champ. In the early game, Tryn has lots of in lane sustain paired with suprising scaling. Tryndamere has easy 1v1 abilities such as healing, passive criticals, slows, damage reduction, and a 5 second immunity to death. Late game Tryndamere is a huge threat to the enemy team by constantly pushing lanes and picking them off. In teamfights Tryndamere goes to the carries and easily shuts them down quickly and finishes the other off. Tryndamere is a dangerous champion.

Cons

- Little mr and armor
- Countered by CC
- Burst susceptible
- Ulti reliable
- Countered by poke
All champs have that loose end. Unfortanetly, Tryndamere has weaknesses that some carries have. Low magic resist and armor. That is also combined with crowd control. In teamfights if Trynd gets hit by some sort of CC, he is pretty much dead, being caught in the middle of the fray with only his ultimate. Fortantely for Tryndamere he has that unkillable ultimate. But that is also a problem. In teamfights, Tryndamere is ultimate reliable. Also, in lane Tryndamere can easily be poked into oblivion.

Summoner Spells

GREAT

As a top laner you want this to tele back to lane quickly so as to avoid the enemy getting ahead in minion kills, and in late game allows you to take objectives quicker.

Only take this if you are jungling. Save smite for Gromp and enemy champions. I didn't move this from horrible to the top at all >_> <_< no one knows...

I usually take this to have a lot of mobility, but if you don't want to take this you don't need to as your e does covers about the same distance.

NOT SO GREAT

This will help you secure kills well and gives a huge movement speed burst and is a nice trade-off with flash because of your e.

Cleanse is not bad because high cc is a huge counter on tryndamere because he mains his basic attacks and needs to get in close to do that.

Ignite... IDK. I don't take this, but if you use it, go ahead.

TERRIBLE JUST ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE WTF ARE YOU DOIN'?!

You have enough heal already! Don't mind that I moved this from okay to horrible.

Invincible ultimate Tryndamere needs shield to be invinvcible OBVIOUSLY.

Yea, sure you need to watch the map with clairvoyance instead of Scrying Orb. Mhmm!

Totally is awesome paired with your Mocking Shout slow!

Dude everyone plays DOMINION. Oh wait, you aren't? Okay you should STILL USE IT FOR NO REASON.

Revive? ONLY BAD TRYNDAMERES DIE. No, but really you don't need this. You probably wont die more than 8 times/per game so really it is just a waste of a summoner.

Abilities Explaination

battle fury: Tryndamere gains 5 Fury for striking a unit or 10 Fury for a critical strike, and 10 extra Fury for killing a unit. When out of combat for 8 seconds, Tryndamere loses 5 fury every second.
Each point of Fury grants +.35% Critical Chance.

This passive can allow 35% critical chance, making Tryndamere already a dangerous champ. Use this to your advantage by fighting your opponent with full rage to deal lots of unexpected damage.

bloodlust: Passive: Tryndamere thirsts for blood, gaining 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 Attack Damage plus 0.15 / 0.2 / 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.35 per 1% Health missing.
Active: Tryndamere consumes his Fury, restoring 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 (+30% of ability power) Health , plus 0.5 / 0.95 / 1.4 / 1.85 / 2.3 (+1.2% of ability power) Health per Fury consumed.

Bloodlust Heals Tryndamere by flat amount added on by how much rage he has. Bloodlust also gives passive attack damage. The lower amount of health he has, the higher the given attack damage. Level this first.

Tips and Tricks
  • Use this ability to stay in lane forever
  • Bait your enemies by healing when they start attacking so you appear weaker than you are

mocking shout: Decreases surrounding champions' physical damage by 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80, and enemies with their backs turned also have their movement speed slowed by 30 / 37.5 / 45 / 52.5 / 60%. Lasts 4 seconds.

This ability lowers the attack damage of nearby enemy champions by a set amount. If your enemy's back is turned away from Tryndamere it will slow them. Level this last, or level this second depends on you.

Tips and Tricks
  • Use this when fighting an opponent to get the upper hand
  • Activate this when enemies are running away to slow them
  • This ability can also be used even if you don't have sight of the enemy, if it lights up the is an enemy nearby.

spinning slash: Active: Tryndamere spins through his enemies, dealing 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 (+100% of ability power) (+1.2 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to enemies in his path. Spinning Slash's cooldown is reduced by 1 second whenever Tryndamere critically strikes (2 seconds upon critically striking an enemy champion).

Spinning slash spins Tryndamere in a targeted direction dealing damage to enemies in his path. The cooldown is lowered if Tryndamere critical strikes. Can be used to go over walls. Level this second, or third if you prefer to level Mocking Shout.

Tips and Tricks
  • Use this ability to last hit and harass your opponent in lane
  • Use this to run in or away from fights
  • In teamfights, use spinning slash to get to the center then use Mocking Shout to lower the enemies attack damage.

undying rage: Tryndamere becomes completely immune to death for 5 seconds, refusing to be reduced below 1 Health and instantly gaining 50 / 75 / 100 Fury.

Undying rage makes Tryndamere unkillable for 5 seconds. Fills your rage bar with a certain amount.

Tips and Tricks
  • Bait yourself to the enemy team with this
  • Use this to survive longer in fights to deal more damage
  • Make sure to heal yourself immeadiately after the 5 seconds
  • True damage can penetrate your ultimate :P

You want to have these skills in this order to maximize damage output in the early game with Tryndamere. Getting your e first is helpful if you have to 1v1 the opponent early when you get to lane, since it does ~100 damage. Maxing your q first will help your e by itself by letting you scale damage and will heal you giving trynd sustain. W 4th because in case you opponent will want to fight you can shut down 20 damage in it giving you a high advantage. Use your ult in cases when you need it to kill a high reward enemy, so it is worth it, or when your health hits half way and you need to survive a team fight.

Items Description

Starting Items
This Item is kind of useful. 1 gold extra a minion kill that stacks up to a total of 100g extra. With that 100th minion kill, the item will give you 300g and and stop the extra gold. Cool thing is, it's like tiny Doran's Blade as well.

Starting with this item will give your e more damage and give you more easier time of last hitting.

Your q will not heal you a lot in early game and being ganked is a problem so getting health potions when going to lane will help a bit if your are harassed. And what are you going to do with that ~105g?

Your going to want this heading top if you want to avoid ganks, but switch it out with a Sweeping Lens if your going against an invis top laner or a Teemo.

On Tryndamere you always want a shiv really early to help farm and give a huge attack speed bonus. Works well with Rapid Firecannon.

These boots help in giving a tryn a nice attack speed spike along with your shiv.

This item helps you farm and it will be your first damage item.

At this point your opponents wont be able to kill you as this is just a huge crit and attack speed spike.

The attack speed and crit is like an extra Statikk Shiv with the shiv, just statikk. For the energized hit it will increase your attack range and add damage on that hit. Synergizes well with Statikk Shiv

This will increase your lifesteal nicely and also give attack speed. If you have all core items, you should be doing about 300 damage and maximum attack speed.

Situational Items
Only for those hard to beat, high ad, champs that hurt.

Only for those whole ad teams.

When your lane has hard cc, or the entire team.

Because Tryndamere is easily bursted into ashes, you want this item to murder them back while having an ap shield.

Tanky Options
Your top pick tanky item. Offers slows and damage on top of the health. Since Tryndamere is basic attack relient, frozen mallet is a wonderous item!

Them damages and the healths. Though the health nor the damage is that high, the real magic comes from Black Cleaver's passive. It's passive is armor shred form all incoming physical attacks. Pretty great, right?

A tanky and damage spread item that gives damage and health. You can switch for Ravenous Hydra for free.

Vs. Items
Bloodthirster vs. Ravenous Hydra. Now when it comes to damage and lifesteal bloodthirster is the way to go, BUT you are still in lane SO ravenous' damage spread is useful. The damage isnt a big gap but it really comes down to you, do you want damage or split push power?

Infinity Edge vs. Ravenous Hydra. Damage is in ravenous's favor, but we are thinking about is the CRITS vs LIFESTEAL/SPLIT PUSHING. 20% more crits is not much ,but it would put us at maximum crit late game. Crits early game with Tryndamere is easy, but with that extra 25 and the crits you are already getting from the shiv and then MORE from your passive. Don't forget about it's passive! 50% more damage from crits! The ravenous gives you decent lifesteal and enhanced split pushing. Now you're decision, crits or lifesteal/split pushing?

Zephyr/ Phantom Dancer vs. Wit's End. Now Wit's end is a pretty useful little thing with it's attack speed and MAGIC RESIST, OMFG. That's stuff we need! Zephyr offers tenacity and Phantom Dancer offers crits with a tiny bit of movement speed and ignores unit collision. But Wit's end matches both attack speeds (so we ignore that) and gives magic resist. Really the decision comes from what the opponents is building, AP, AD, no armor, or have annoying cc?

Game Play

Laning

early game

For early game your job is to farm. Yea, pick some kills, too, I guess. Just mostly farm it up. Play passive and avoid being poked by the enemy. Ward the river and keep an eye on the map. A lot of times mid lane is running away from a jungler towards you, so watch carefully. Always remember, think that your opponent knows something you don't. If they engage on you randomly, run, there's a jungler in your bush probably. This will lead to less deaths. Oh, and farm, once again.

middle game

Mid game isn't much different than you're early game. Keep farming. I cringe hard when I see a Tryndamere middle lane without the top turret gone. Keep split pushing top, and keep farming. Your job at this point is to be a big nuisance and distraction to the enemy team. When you're alone, keep pressing tab and watch those lit up names. Watch the map and push hard. I Garentee at least SOME success.

late game

Late game. THERE'S NOTHING DIFFERENT. Keep split pushing, though it may not be top. Keep farming. And when there's and objective on the line like dragon, YOU SLAP THE ENEMIES FACE WITH YOUR SWORD. Really, Tryndamere is playing a completely different game then everyone else. Your team is playing attack the mid lane. Trynd is playing storm the fricking nexus 1V1. But do take precaution. Ward, stay near teammates, and don't do anything stupid. Pick off the enemy and take those objectives.

Warding

Ward placement:

Red: Vital Wards! ALWAYS ward

Green: Lane protection wards (depending which lane)

Orange: Jungle protecting/countering

Match-Ups

Aatrox is an interesting matchup. He can heal more than you, so try to wack him and use your w as much as possible to annoy this dude.

THIS ONE. God I hate her. Yea, uh, farm a lot 'cause fighting her head on isn't much of a choise (she can burst you).

The cows cc will eat you. But if you can fight him 1v1, even though he'll probably just knock you away, you can kill him. stand under tower so he cant harass you.

His harass will murder you. Farming is the goal. Stand FAR back.

Braum, the dude with the mustache. Nah he cant KILL you, but he can hurt you. Just farm it all.

Hmmm. This guys harass is a pain. My advice: don't fight him and keep moving.

Darius is not a good matchup. He can harass you a lot. Farm under turret. Do not engage without your ultimate and stay out of his pull range. Also his ult will kill you, even with your ult because true damage.

Mundo aint no trouble. Well... until his armor that is. Farm the lane and dodge his cleavers.

Fiora... well lets see. Start a cloth and 5 pots. Farm under turret.

This dude will harass. Just farm as much as you can.

Ugh. His q and e harass is just unbearable. Though he is not very strong his abilities make you hesitate. Don't let him get close to you.

Run around to dodge q's. Watch his rage bar closely to see when he'll jump in. Stay away from walls.

She isn't so hard. Farm and try to outpush her. Don't dive her.

His ult is useless against you. Oh, and dodge that swag flag.

Jax is a butt. Be wary of his jumps and stuns. Don't try to 1v1 (unless you have a clear lead).

Jayce is a butt. He is going to harass you. Farm as much you can.

Kayle hits you right in the bum. She is going to harass you with q's and e's. So farm.

Yea, kennen is going to hurt with her ultimate. Oh, watch those shock stacks. Run around to avoid being impaled with a shuriken.

Meh. Farm it up. Stay back cause them e's hurt.

Farm, farm, and farm. OMG you killed him? Never would've guessed -_-

Let me tell you this now. Mord is your counter. His passive allows damage to just not happen. Farm as much as you can under turret. Do not ask for ganks, don't die.

If you are playing ranked and you see someone choose this guy, DONT CHOOSE TRYND. His e slows your attack speed. What else do I have to say? Go with a tank instead. But if he counter picks you with Nasus try and slap him with you sword.

Very squishy and not much trouble if you stand behind minions. If she hit you and you got that floating triangle above your head (illumanity confirmed) don't let her get that extra damage on you.

Isnt that the snowman from the movie frozen?(que 'let it go' song) Anyways, this dude isn't very strong if he doesn't snowball. You got the sustain. He aint got much. BUT he does have the burst. If you do want to fight him, pull out that w.

Wanna see some magic? Start a cloth and 5 pots. Tah-dah! You won the lane.

Poppy? When is she ever picked? IF you do encounter one, this is what you do: stay away from walls and farm.

Don't stand behind your minions. He has more sustain and does more damage than you. He can bite at a force of 3,700 pounds per square inch. Oh, were still talking about lol aren't we, huh?

Dude is a big cat with one eye. Stay away from bushes.

Farm under turret.

Run around, you don't want any of this spikes inside of you.

The dude hurts. Stay a distance away so he doesn't root you.

Don't step into his poisen trail. Stay a little ways away so he doesn't chuck you over his shoulder.

This guys pokes with birds. Don't fight him early to mid game.

THIS F****** LITTLE S*** IS THE CAUSE OF MY PAIN. Sorry I let my anger out. The devil shoots blinding darts so you cant hit anything. UGH. Start them lenses.

Uhh... the only way to win this lane is being better than them. So my insta win way to gold is to w spam.

This dude is Elizabeth Báthory, the woman who bathed in her victims blood. Ew, yes, I know. Anyway, Vladimir is the fking poke king. You need to stay FAAAAAAAAAAAR back. Stay in the bushes and only come out to kill him cause gank or cs.

VERY bursty. Stay a ways away.

Dude is a bully with his cloning and spin knock up. Try not to get jumped by this guy.

This dude has super high attack speed and does a lot of quick, but avoidable, damage.

REAL squishy dude. His q shiv burst is there, but you can easily kill him with your ultimate. Break his shield as much as you can.

Pile of boogers. Farm under turret cause he got poke. If you can, try to waste his passive revive.
