Introduction
Chip Sticky's the name, Rumble is the game.
Runes
Marks:
Take the Greater Mark of Magic Penetration as marks. To an extent, 1 point of magic resist > 1 point of ability power, therefore it is vital that you scoop up every point of magic penetration you can get. Since Rumble has innate great base damage, the magic penetration allows for some serious grilling!
Seals:
Get 9 Greater Seal of Armor as seals because you are most likely facing an AD champion top lane if not an AD jungler.
Glyphs:
I recommend taking 9 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist against an AD top laner because you will not need the flat MR to win your lane. You're better off scaling better toward the late game when you will later encounter AP damage sources. If you feel like you can spelunk the anus of your opponent with ease, go ahead an take Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power for some extra deeps.
Quintessences:
I take 9 Greater Quintessence of Ability Power for some early base damage that way I can trade well in lane. With the recent damage nerfs on Rumble I feel like I need the extra boost. But do not be afraid of taking Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed for the extra mobility because speed on Rumble is exceptional for kiting and keeping enemies in range of your Flamespitter.
Item Sequence
Maxing your Flamespitter first is a must. This spell is your main source of damage. I grab Scrap Shield second because we need that escapability early game because Rumble is incredibly vulnerable to ganks, especially in the early game.
After that:
- You can either max Scrap Shield first and Electro-Harpoon after.
- You can either max Electro-Harpoon first and Scrap Shield after.
- You can skill them equally, so one point in Scrap Shield and the next point in Electro-Harpoon
I prefer to max Electro-Harpoon after Flamespitter for the damage chunking and kiting. If you're against hard poke/damage such as nidalee, prioritize the Scrap Shield to absorb that damage chunking.
Flash is an absolute must on Rumble. The yordle is so susceptible to ganks/CC and without flash would die as much as Teemo. |
95% of the time I roll with Ignite. It provides that extra dose of scorching with Rumble's kit and makes him incredibly strong. I love igniting and chasing with Flamespitter while they're on The Equalizer, it's just the triforce of roasting and their health bar just gets chewed away faster than Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber deactivation. |
5% of the time do I choose Teleport primarily because ignite is so much more powerful; however, if I am up against a Shen, Teleport comes in handy for counter ganks or counter counter ganks or counter counter.. you get the idea. |
