Hi i am ApollonATH , a Volibear main with a lot of hours on Voli in top lane , jg and even mid lane . I started playing Voli after his rework and fell in love with his design and theme . This guide is made to help you climb out of low elo and carry feeding teams. The builds here are the best for each play style as of patch 11.9. I made this guide since i notice than most volibear players in elos even as high as diamond that dont know how to build in order to maximize the champions potential. I have taken inspiration from other high elo volibear mains so that i can perfect my own builds using our collective experience.

This section is for Volibear noobies that want to start playing the champ and dont have the mindset behind the champ yet.

First of all you need to understand your strengths and weaknesses . As volibear you have amazing early game damage , your scale smoothly in to the late game . You can make plays with your team or carry on your own . Of course Volibear has weaknesses . He can struggle in ranged matchups and he gets outscaled by many other top laners . Overall he is a balanced yet strong champion at the moment . He has presence in all elos because of his easy to pick up yet flexible kit . You need to understand that you are tanky but have damage . You need to play around your cooldowns since voli is a very cdr reliant champion , that is also the reason why most of my builds contain items with ability haste . But try not to get greedy and overconfident since even though you kit is made for tower diving and playing aggressive you can still fail the dive if you dont have the experience to predict the enemies movement for your E or what ability to use when.

With the ap or ad hybrid build you can solo kill anyone in the early game if you play around your abilities . If you play vs a bad matchup you can play safe an get a set up for your jg to gank . You can flash Q for a free kill with a good jg. Play for farm but dont waste Q or W when enemy is looking to fight

In the mid game you can split push to apply pressure and open side lane with the ap or ad builds or rotate and go for mvp engage as a tank and flex on the enemy team that is trying to hurt you. With your E you can help secure drakes since it does nice dmg to epic monsters especially with the E max ap build

You either try to back door / pressure side lanes or teamfight and help your team tower dive with your R it is dependent on your build . During baron fights you can guard the pit and kill any unsuspecting enemies looking for a steal. E R can help you steal objectives and engage on the backline
