Why choose EZ?
Ezreal has probably the best skill combo besides Jayce. Ezreal can hop in and hop out of fights with his E skill. Let me start off with his Q. His Q is his main damager dealing spell and his longest range attack besides his R skill. His W would be his main damage dealer if he were AP Ezreal, but hes not, so W is used as a damage/passive proc skill. W will mainly be used just to either raise an ally's attack speed or just for your passive to increase. His E skill would probably be his most useful skill in teamfights or a 1 versus 1 fight. He can use his E skill over walls, which is probably one of the best things about his E. Now his ultimate has a usual cooldown at the beginning, but later game, his ultimate will have about 60-70 second cooldown, basically an ult every teamfight. His ult is very useful. Many Ezreal players think that his ultimate is only for sniping those runners, but it really isnt. His ultimate should really be used to initiate fights as well as clear minions from taking your turrets.
For Ezreal I take more Defensive Damage runes and masteries. I believe that attack damage carries should have some defensive capabilities, and considering the build for Ezreal, he is one of the more tanky ADCs. I take flat damage marks, flat damage quints, armor seals, and magic resist per level glyphs. I think that this will help Ezreal most over all flat attack damage with armor pen or attack speed. I take 21/9/0 masteries, not leveling up any attack speed or summoners wrath because Ezreal doesn't need ignite to be pro. The cooldown reduction would be a lot better for Ezreal because he needs the CDR for his epic combos and constant Q harassing.
That title was a lie by the way. Ezreal can be played many ways. Whether you want an AP Ezreal or an AD Ezreal, he will do TONS OF DAMAGE, as long as you can build him correctly. I would consider starting with the Long Sword basically because the Boots and 3 health pots start has become bad for basically any champion. The Long Sword 2 pots start IMO is the best start for ADCs lately. On your first back you can turn it into a vampiric scepter and grab a Dorans blade for extra damage. After, immediately get Berserker's Greaves and rush Blood Thirster. Before, I had talked about an item that would greatly increase the power of his Q, and thats the Iceborn Gauntlet. Because of Iceborn's passive, his Q applies as a basic hit, as well as a spell. So, the Iceborn Gauntlet procs everytime he lands his Q spell. Besides that damage, he needs armor pen, like most ADCs, so you get Last Whisper, and a little extra damage from infinity edge, while finishing it off with a Guardians Angel or QQS, quick silver sash turning into a Mercurial Scimitar.
