Introduction

Hello fellow summoners,

If you are reading this you are either reading this for the fun of reading something, or you are wanting a guide about Sivir. I may not be in the highest of ELOs, but I have played Sivir for a while, and I really like her. She fills the role of split-pusher, backdoorer, carry, and main DPS. She can do ridiculous amounts of damage with Ricochet in a teamfight. But that's not all you can do with her.

Pros and Cons

Masteries-What you can do and why

I think there are two decent option that you can go for in masteries. 0/9/21 and 16/10/4.

0/9/21:
The explanation for this is that the utility tree gives most of what Sivir need in a SOLO lane. And you will need a solo lane for farm. So generally I use this mastery page. But you can also do 16/10/4

16/10/4:
Why? Good for a DUO lane. Dodge helps against AD carries bot lane, and more in the offensive tree is always good.

Runes-What I take and Why

In this section, I will explain exactly why the runes I choose give the best results. Not just because I do well with them, but because of number crunching.

Greater Mark of Desolation Greater Mark of Desolation x9
What do these give me? They give you Armor Penetration. For all you starters out there, armor pen cuts through armor, which will lower physical damage taken. This means you do more damage. Early game, squishy champions have little armor. This will allow you to do true damage to them (basically) which is always good. True damage is damage that negates armor and magic resistance. In total, these runes give you are whopping 15.03 armor pen.

Greater Seal of Evasion x9
The seals I take are Dodge Seals. I know some people will be like ,"You should take some MR or armor noob." But Dodge synergizes with her passive and the 0/9/21 masteries I take. 8.6% dodge is nothing to be scoffed at. Add the passive. 34% dodge while moving. Oh wait, count in the masteries. 36% dodge while moving.

I think if you are not so good at Sivir yet, yes take MR glyphs or something MR. Why? Because spell shield if timed right can destroy burst on yourself.

Greater Glyph of Clarity x9
The glyphs I would take are Mana Regen per 5 seconds at level 18. Late game when you are poking/pushing, you need to sustain the right mana cost of Boomerang and Ricochet and Spell Shield.

Again, MR blues are good too against heavy caster teams (Newbie Tip: You can only tell team composition of the other team if you are playing ranked games. You can play these at level 30 (your summoner).)

Greater Quintessence of Strength x3
These Quints give me attack damage. AD helps you do more damage with ricochet, boomerang, and even helps you push towers. What not to like? You can also take Armor Pen marks to get 25 armor pen, but sometimes AD helps more. Take your pick.

Summoner Spells-What to take and why

I know, I know. Exhaust is the overall best spell for most ADs. Oh, wait, MOST ADs. Well Sivir is not MOST ADs because of her pushing potential. Push push push, tele, teamfight 5v4. Very good strategy against bad teams. They may or may not send someone strong to block your split-push. If they do, tell your team to engage. If not, just waste tele and jump into a 5v4. Also some bad teams will engage 5v4 onto your team. Tell them to back off at the first sign of movement, and just stall out the fight. This will force someone to come and get you.

Flash is just about to most broken summoner spell I have seen. Escape, Chase, Juking, you can do everything with this spell. Flash over wall, flash for the last boomerang hit. EVERYTHING IS THERE.

Skills- Because Sivir's Got Them

Passive:Fleet of Foot

Increases Sivir's dodge chance while moving by 10/15/20/25% while moving

Ok passive, very luck based though. Basically useless without nimbleness, so that's why I get it. Don't underestimate it though. Nocturne say hi? Run like hell. You just might get lucky.

Q:Boomerang Blade

Sivir hurls her crossblade like a boomerang, dealing 80/125/170/215/260 (+75% of ability power) and (+100% of Bonus Attack Damage) Magic Damage to the first unit and 20% reduced damage to each subsequent target.

Cooldown 9 seconds

Cost 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 mana

Range 10000

This ability scales of AD, giving ever the more reason to get AD. 1.0 ratio is really good too. Good for clearing minion waves alongside Ricochet. Don't forget OVER 9000 range. But by my calculations, it deals the highest non-ultimate burst damage in the game. It can hit a target 2 times, so get owned son. Slow skill-shot makes it hard to land though.

W:Ricochet

Toggle: Sivir's basic attacks will bounce to 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 additional target(s), dealing 25% less damage with each bounce (only the first hit procs item effects).

Cost 6mana per attack
Range 20

It is a toggle skill that clears minion waves hella fast with Boomerang Blade. This makes Sivir the split pusher she is. Clear minion waves while hitting a turret? Yes, please. The only drawback is that it doesn't crit or apply on-hit affects (such as sheen, which would make it OP. Toggle hit, toggle off. Rinse and Repeat) Learn about timing the toggle on time to deal maximum damage with minimum mana use.

E:Spell Shield

Creates a magical barrier which blocks a single enemy ability used on Sivir. Lasts up to 3 seconds.

If an ability is blocked by the shield, Sivir regains 150 mana.

Cooldown 28 / 24 / 20 / 16 / 12seconds
Cost 75mana
Range 20

Pretty good spell. Banshee's Veil for free? Yes, me wants it. Don't level it up past level 1 because it only reduces cooldown time. No more being picked off by a snipe from Ez or Ashe. No more Tibbers. This also makes Sivir a great counter-pick for Karthus. Run into a lay waste with this on at low mana. Unstoppable lane dominance.

R:On the Hunt

Grants Sivir and nearby allies 25% movement speed and 25 / 45 / 65% attack speed (half for allies) for 15 seconds.

Cooldown 90seconds
Cost 100mana
Range 1200

Very nice ultimate which allows you to backdoor a lot better. AS steroid makes you do so much more damage. Sort of like Yi's ultimate but AoE. Relatively low cooldown, so feel free to use to guarantee a turret kill.

Items-What to get and What not to get

Typical Game Build for Me:
+ -> x2-> ->Level Two Boots+ -> -> -> or -> ->

Starting out with Boots and 3 Health Potions really helps. The extra speed makes for easy dodging of skill-shots, and better landing of yours. The 3 health potions can make up for any mistakes you make. If you are not yet comfortable with your spell-shield, then grab Boots 2 health potions, and 1 mana potion.

Typical for an AD carry. You can also get three if you are getting roflstomped in lane.
Again, typical for an AD carry.

Beserker's Greaves These guys are good for you if you want to Push harder, or you are the main AD carry.
Good against Crowd Control teams. Crowd Control is stuns, snares, slows, silences, knock-ups, knock-backs.
Good against heavy Physical DPS teams. Ashe, Pantheon, You.

I usually pick up a Vampiric Scepter before I get my B. F. Sword. It all depends on how well I'm farming. If i'm against a strong laner, (Malzahar, Brand) I will pick up a Ruby Crystal.

I then finish You generally want this 20 minutes in or so. Some people do it fast, some don't. This gives you AD and lifesteal for some serious pushing. You should probably be pushing a lot, and moving around lanes.

After my first BT, I will most likely get my Phage. This will increase my survivability and damage. The slow is always nice when it procs.

Now I like to get a SECOND Bloodthirster. This is the item slot which you can switch things up. Maybe you'd like to get a luxury item (explained in next chapter) or maybe a tanky item.

Now it's time to start building either a Quicksilver Sash or a Banshee's Veil. I usually pick up a Negatron Cloak before my second BT though. If you are against a Warwick or Malzahar, or anyone with a ult that has a persisting effect. ( Mordekaiser], Karthus, Vladmir.) Banshee's for a fed caster so that Tibbers doesn't crush you.

Finish up your Frozen Mallet as your last item (pretty much). Assured slow+tankiness. A great package and a awesome item.

Luxury Items/ Situational Items

Damage Items

Wow. This item is so good if you are fed early on. 25 AD, 15% Armor Pen, and 10% CDR is almost worth a B. F. Sword in terms of utility. (My personal thoughts.) Take advantage of your lead, and make it bigger!

I see many people get this item when people are stacking armor. Their though process is,"Oh, I've seen guides that say:'When there is a super tank team, get this item'" Well sorry to break it to you, but this item only shreds HP stackers, and not armor ones.

I like this item soooooo much. I love not only to 40% armor pen, but the 40 AD is a nice addition. It costs less than The Black Cleaver (i think) and so I take it.

Aura Lifesteal? Yes please. Get this when you have a lot of AD on your team 2+. Sometimes, let your support get it though. You need better items for the slot.

Defensive Items

Tryndamere hatin' on you? Hate on him by letting him kill himself with Thormail. 100 Armor is good, but 30% damage back to their AD? Yes please.

Now you may be looking at me like WHAT? Why do you get this? You already have Banshee's Veil! Well, sometimes Banshee's Veil isn't enough. So you get more MR to buff you up.

Getting focused straight away? Well Guardian Angel is the item for you! It has MR and Armor, not to mention it's AWESOME passive which allows to be in a teamfight twice as long.

Quick Playstyle for Each Game Part

Early Game-Your role here is to FARM, FARM, FARM. You want to get as much farm ASAP so you can get your items, which will make you loads stronger

Mid Game-Your role here is to either FARM more or you can start pushing lanes really hard. Go to one lane. Push. (Pushing is basically spamming your spells to kill enemy creeps. Be sure to last hit them though!)

Late Game-Your role here is either the AD carry, or the very annoying backdooring Sivir. Why do we have tele? Oh right, to tele into teamfights from a side-lane.

Early game-In depth

Enjoy the mid-lane for yourself, so you level up quickly and you get lots of farm. If you want to know the basics to last-hitting, check out DanDinh's very informative blog post about it. I must tell you, push the lane right before you leave to lane to pick up an item, so your tower doesn't steal last-hit's from you. Also push the lane when your opponent is dead or has left the lane. This will cause them to lose gold and EXP. Resulting in them being lower-level and underfarmed.

Remember that Boomerang Blade has a relatively high mana cost at level one. Without Spell Shield, only use it when you are ABSOLUTELY positive that you are going to hit them. And btw, and easy way to land a double hit(hit's them on the way there and back) is when they are pinned against a wall. They cannot run backwards away from it (the normal reaction) so they will take one hit and another right after.

Remember what I said earlier about knowing when to Toggle Richochet off and on? Well here is a perfect situation to explain why. When your opponent leaves the lane, you want to toggle it on to start making them lose exp and gold from their turret. Or you can turn it on to land a hit on a champion.

Mid Game

Here is where Sivir really shines. Her mid game is strong as a pusher and carry.

Key Things in Mid Game

How to push effectively:
1)Try to get blue buff before you start pushing hard.
2)Use Q then toggle on Ricochet and proceed to clear the waves quickly while trying not to miss 2+ last-hits
3)Do as much as you can starting in your lane until someone stops you. If you're sure you can kill a turret with your ult, use it.
4) a.You can back with the new gold you got and go buy some itmes.
b.You can switch lanes and rinse and repeat.

Dragon
1)Before a dragon happens, you want your whole team down near dragon. You want their mid around 60% Hp or already backing.
2)Generally if someone on their team is AFK farming top, then take dragon for an easy 4v5.
3)Be sure to tell your support or jungler to clear the dragon area of wards. This means:Grab and Oracles or Pink Wards.
4)Sivir's Ult can make dragoning a breeze.

Teamfights
1)Wait SagePig, I thought you said we were split pushing!
But we are young one. We will be split-pushing until someone comes to kill us. Then we will teleport in and 5v4.

2) But what if my team is stupid and gets engaged 5v4?
Then we keep on pushing until it's not safe. Maybe you can pick up a turret. Anyways if your team has good sense to fight by their turret they won't do too bad. Maybe 2 people will live for the other team. You can be the clean-up crew if you want too.

3) How do you teamfight normally?
You have a relatively short AA range, so try to hit the closet person with Ricochet on. Throw out your boomerang for some extra damage. ALWAYS HAVE YOUR ULT ON (because if you don't you are ****ing dumb. There is no other explanation.)

1v1ing
1) I generally don't find myself in a 1v1 situation that much. As always I ult and throw out my boomerang to secure two hits. I throw on my spell shield to give me a good advantage too.

Late Game

Late Game is where you take advantage of all you farm and own own own.

Key Things About Late Game

Baron
1)Baron is such a big thing late game. It can change the results of games, by giving one team the upper hand for a while. You again need to ward up ALL POSSIBLE ENTRANCES TO BARON. This is so you can back off baron if you have to.
2)Pushing really hard forcing defense. This can lead to an easy baron.
3)Clear up Baron ward areas with Oracles.

Basically everything is the same. Oh wait, I forgot something.

****ing Around
1)When you are about to win, flash into their turret and die.
2)Having a dance party at their nexus.
