This build primarily covers one of Swain's biggest weaknesses, mobility.

Glacial Augment, Boots, Approach Velocity, Cosmic Drive, and mejais combine to make swain incredibly fast. Catching up to people is no longer a challenge and most champions will not be able to escape you, or your team.

The rest of the build is for utility. Font of life, Revitalize, and Moonstone all offer your team a LOT of healing, not as much as a soraka or yuumi, but enough to keep your team alive through fights. especially when combined with the damage reduction from Glacial and swains ability to throw himself into the fromline and become a tank.

Why Moonstone? why not Shurelya's? What moonstone offers swain is kind of hidden, the healing it offers your allies is okay, the mythic passive is just more healing for allies, and the statline is exactly the same as Shurelya's. What makes moonstone great for swain is none of those things. Instead, what makes Moonstone the best Mythic for this build is the 35% heal and shield power it gives while you're in extended combat.

Heal and shield power applies to self heals(including all of swains healing) as well as outgoing heals, meaning this amps up swains survivability a whole lot. 35% is the most heal and shield power you can get out of a single item. Between Moonstone and revitalize, swain heals way more than he normally does, letting him frontline much more effectively.

Swain is normally a high damage, immobile carry. With this build, swain is a decent damage, very fast, utility champion. This means that your role in the game is to get your team ahead, and keep them ahead.

This build is disgustingly strong in the invade. You alone offer an aoe root, a single target pull, an aoe slow, a surprising amount of damage at level 1, and a sustain and damage reduction for your allies. unless you whiff your e and you're the only source of cc on your team, you will win invades.

Swain is a major threat in lane, even without a damage keystone. use that to your advantage to deny the enemy laner CS and, if possible exp. this is harder against hook supports like blitzcrank, but still possible.


what you do in lane, what you do outside of lane is also important. keep an eye on your midlaner and jungler. the insane range on Swain's W means you can always throw it into a skrimish and swing it into your teams favor. You should also look to roam when the enemy laners are recalled or otherwise not in lane, just like during the invade you offer a LOT to your team in fights.

Taking kills is okay, Swain is still Swain and can roll people if ahead.

Swain doesn't want to be alone normally, thats even moreso the case with this build. your damage is not the highest, and two of your big runes are mainly there for your allies. make sure to control vision around important areas, such as dragon or baron, and jungle entrances. when not getting vision control, try to position so that you can help whoever is splitpushing, your w can fore an enemy to turn away potentially saving your ally, or getting them a kill.

Late game plays almost the same as mid game.

group with your team and win teamfights.

As always, Swain dominates teamfights.
