Introduction

Hello there! My name is StrawHatZinda (for you one piece fans.) Before I start, I would like to say I, in no way, believe I am a pro at LOL, and I Made this guide purely because I wanted to inform others on Wukong. Also that I didn't take to much time to proof-read this. Now on to the guide!

(P.S please leave constructive feed back in the comments section. even if you make a very offensive comment, I will ask you guys "so how do you think I can make this guide better?")
(P.S.S There is a guide almost similar to mine with more views. So if you did not prefer my guide check his out.)

UPDATE

I am re-doing the BB code to make my guide look more porfessional. I was on vacation and i kinda rushed through this. not an excuse, just purely my bad choice for making a LOL guide on vacation (cause im a nerd thats why)

The monkey king!

Welcome to my Wukong guide to top lane! Wukong is by far the best solo top champion I have played, and so far I have only lost one game as top-lane Wukong. He is an anti-tank/anti-assassin and excels at top-lane because he is a fighter and can 1v1 most champs. His defensive abilities allow him to take attacks and dish them out too.

Stone skin
Wukong's armor and magic resistance are increased by 4 / 6 / 8 for each visible nearby enemy champion.
Bonus magic resistance and armor. Nuff' said
]
Crushing blow
Wukong's next attack, within 5 seconds, will deal 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+1.1 per attack damage) physical damage and will reduce the enemy's armor by 30% for 3 seconds. This also increases Wukongs attack range by 125
This ability gives Wukongs basic attack potential a HUGE BOOST. In my opinion the best part of this is the range boost. Have you ever been chasing someone down, they were incredibly low health, and you were just about to get him, but he escaped to his turret just in time? Well this skill gets rid of that completely. It always smacks that last bit of HP out of them. also if you were wondering why i maxed this at ten or you thought "is he serious? is he on crack?" well the answer to both of those is yes. if you have a point in both of your other skills it will help quite a bit.

Shadow Clone no Jutsu!
Wukong becomes stealthed for 1.5 seconds and leaves a decoy of himself at his location. The decoy is uncontrollable and cannot move or attack. After 1.5 seconds, the decoy will deal magic damage to enemies within 175 range and vanish.
Have you ever played against a Shaco and wondered how he can juke so easily? Well when you use this skill you will realize very quickly how. After you have juked someone you will always xD. Not only can it provide an intense escape ability, it can be used to get someone like Lee Sin to waste his ultimate.

Nimbus strike
Wukong dashes on a cloud toward a target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies within 187.5 range of the target, dealing physical damage to each enemy struck. He also gains an attack speed bonus for 4 seconds after hitting a target with this skill
Nimbus strike can be used to initiate or escape using a nearby enemy minion. Farming with skill is very easy and when jungling it can be used to clear camps fast. If you mix this with Cyclone in a team fight you will win every time (granted your team mates attack with you.)

Cyclone
Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around for up to 4 seconds, dealing physical damage every second and knocking up enemies once per cast. Wukong gains 5% movement speed bonus every half second for the duration of the spell, with the bonus disappearing once he stops spinning. Wukong cannot attack or use other abilities while Cyclone is active, but he can deactivate it at any time.
This ability is a godsend. Used correctly in a team fight it can win any battle. this ultimate is the greatest skill for a top-laner. But be careful when using this ability, as of, it is hard to get out of situations while in cyclone. you can be stunned, slowed, and feared which will totally screw you over so be wary. even when used against a single champion it can give you a great boost.

Pros / Cons

PROS

He's a stealth fighter!TM
Great for 1v1
Perfect for defensive and offensive gameplay
Q allows you to perform a HULK SMASH!
allows you to make clones faster than you can say "naruto!"
excels at team fighting with ultimate and passive
Clones make you un-gankable
Low mana costs

CONS

Clones require some time to know when to use
Nimbus strike can get you into trouble if you don't know how to initiate
VERY item dependent late game
No survival attributes early game
In order to have a good farm you need to use Q a lot

Masteries

Must I explain the masteries? I chose the offensive skills to boost his (very slow) attack speed and give him a small boost with AD. The defensive skills are there to make your stone skin into steel skin!

Runes

The runes I chose are short, sweet, and to the point. I gave him a boost in AD, armor, and MR to boost his early game performance. The marks give him a whopping 10 armor penetration which is equal to a Brutalizer while the quintessences grant him an additional 2 which doesn't hurt. the health quintessences push his early game, and combined with his armor runes protect against AD champions.

Spells

Primary

FLASH
I choose flash because its all around performance works on almost all champions. It allows quick for a quick escape or finishing off an opponent (not to mention turret diving)

IGNITE
Ignite is also an all around skill, and provides that finishing move without you having to lift a finger. I recommend taking this, since it deals true damage which ignores MR and armor

VIABLE

EXHAUST
I guess you could take this skill to chase down or run away, although it's the same as flash but with only one target.

TELEPORT
This would be a good skill if you needed to run back after recalling or dying. I would recommend this if you are going against a champion that counters you.

SMITE
Only take this when jungling. I highly doubt minions will be a problem to Wukong.

BARRIER
This might be a good idea against amazing early game champs or a summoner with ignite.

HANDS OFF

These summoner spells are not for Wukong. they do not give him a good boost or they cannot help in the slightest.

The other remaining spells I could not find anything bad to say about them, nor any good things. But that should not stop you from using them in a match.

Items

STARTING

As of most top-laners are AD I always start with cloth armor. If your facing off against AP, keep the armor early game, since most casters can't do much damage without AP. Trade it out for a Mantle and upgrade to Magic resist boots in the place of ninja tabi.
EARLY

These items are pretty simple

    Vamp scepter is for survivability.
Wardens mail is for facing against an AD champ. Exchange for a hexdrinker if have to 1v1 against an AP champ.
Giants belt is for taking attacks.
BF sword is to smack enemies around.
Ninja tabi is also to top against AD. mercury's treads will help for anti-AP and slow reduction

LATE GAME

The bloodthirster the first item to buy. the damage and life steal help A LOT. this will improve your game no matter what stage.

Randuin's omen helps against champs with good auto-attack speed like and the armor and health boost don't hurt either.

Warmogs armor is a must have for all fighter-tanks. Warmogs is a beautiful addition to Wukongs pallet of items.

the black cleaver blasts through armor leaving your slain enemies saying "boy that was fast." the HP added will work to make survivability very easy mixed with your warmogs.

the ravenous hydra is a super farming, super killing, legendary item. it is currently the highest damage item in the game (technically the bloodthirster is but only if you fully stack it) and packs a major punch.
VIABLE

The infinity edge is a super increase for AD and combined with all of your items can pack a punch.

The blade of the ruined king should only be taken when you are having an incredibly easy lane for every single lane.

Atma's impaler combined with Warmog's will grant an amazing lift in most situations.

Take a spirit of the lizard elder if you are jungling as Wukong or when you start roaming.

youmuu's ghostblade ignores most of the target's armor and allows your Q to initiate a battering assault.

The trinity force improves all skills. Take this when you feel necessary.

The FM's slow will help you chase down most opponents and the health will help you if you get tunnel vision ( try not to get tunnel vision.)

Counters

Unfortunately when i was making my counter list I accidentally deleted it so i decided to make the counter list on Lol King. You can find it here
(update)
remade the guide after i could not get my lolking account working (ironic) so i remade the counters.
TOP 5 COUNTERS
5

RIVEN
not the worst person but certainly not the best. all her skills will destroy yours, especially your E-Q-W combo. if you must lane against riven get a jungler with good chasing skills, preferably slows, and have him frequently gank.
difficutly(1-10): 6
4

OLAF
olaf has the same counter-idea as riven. get a jungler with slows and call for a lot of ganks. do not underestimate him. if you are low health and your jungler is there, do not engage. olaf can still kill you and escape regardless. stay away from him if you are low.
diffuculty:7
3

JARVAN IV
not much to help you here. the only solution is to get jarvan low on mana to avoid his combo. junglers cant help much unless you have him in a risky position. if you see this match up not much you can do. shut him down early or you will feel his tanky wrath.
difficulty:8
2

GAREN
SO annoying. you wont survive this match up if you play offensivly. how can you win against garen? turret hug and poke from inside turret range. avoid this as much as you can, or your team will lose.
difficulty:8-9
1

LEE SIN
check any counter site and it will say lee sin counters wukong. his combo will shred you up and you wont win lane. remember how i said you can get lee sin to waste his ultimate? well that wasnt a good example because it wont matter if he wastes it. his combo will smash you.
dodge if you see lee sin on the enemy team. top lane or not, you cannot win against him.
difficulty:11
OTHER COUNTERS

I myself dont see darius as a problem but i know many of you will have a problem. if you see him pre-game, try to out farm him and poke as much as you can. if you see him jump into the air, it means his ultimate coming. decoy right after the impact (if you are not already dead) and kite him. if you can get him far enough so backing is hard for him, turn and atack. he wont be able to run away and you can beat him up. easy as that.
difficulty:6-7

laning against fiora with wukong shouldnt be hard, just annoying. get her to poke frequently and you should win. when ever she pokes punish her severely (giggity.) she wont poke again once she knows how much you damage her.
difficulty:5

i was origanally going to put singed on the top 5 counters but singed and wukong meet at an impass when laning. if you try fighting him you both will die. dont avoid this just last through it.
difficulty:???
