This guide will work fine for anyone daring enough to attempt Nunu top lane in the current meta... That being said, this guide was made for my friend Marco. I will not be updating this guide as the game updates. This guide was made on 7/6/14 patch 4.11. This is just one way to build Nunu. I prefer the tanky stats/CDR and not the "all AP worthless in teamfights if his ult misses Nunu". Please read the notes on the items and abilities sections. I tend to think that Rod of Ages is an excellent first item on Nunu.

Be sure to use your W on a teammate that has a lot of attack damage. This will usually be your ADC. While you have your movespeed from W, position yourself to use your E on the enemy ADC (since your E slows attack speed it is best used against ADCs as opposed to mages). Finally, with your movement speed still on, begin your ultimate in the middle of a team fight. Usually, your ult will disrupt a teamfight quite a lot. Remember that you can activate your ultimate early by clicking to walk somewhere. Nunu's ult is best done from a bush (that the enemy team does not have vision of). It takes some practice to time bush ults correctly, but they can be quite sneaky.

Ok, Marco...I know that you like Nunu laning, and I know that sometimes it works...but first I want to ask you to learn a different champion for top lane...haha. Anyway, Nunu's strength in laning, is a QUICK harass with your E. Nunu has good mana sustain if you can auto attack minons, and he has decent health sustain if you can Q minions, but many champions can out-damage him in any combat that is longer than a quick E. For example, a Rumble can block your E with his shield, slow you with his E and damage you with his Q. He will beat you in lane. If your opponent has a good gap closer, he will beat you in lane. Nunu doesn't work very often (from my experience), but you will do what you want...lol. I know that much.
