Welcome to my second guide.In this guide I will teach you how to play as Pantheon,The Artisan Of War.
Pantheon can play lots of roles in teamfights,tank,AD carry he can even play the role of an assassin,take care the carries .Before voting,notice this guide isn't finished yet.Tell me how can I continue this by leaving a comment.
When should I pick Pantheon?
Pantheon should be picked when you go in lane against an enemy that is really damaged by his CC and his constant harras with Spear Shot.Some examples of champions you should go against are : Renekton, Ezreal, Gangplank, Twisted Fate and much more.
Pick your lane
Pantheon goes solo top or jungle.
When you go solo top,you should be carefull at heavy CC and opponents that have teleports.You should farm and constantly harras your enemy if the lane isn't very hard but if you have a hard lane ,always buy potions when you recall and take Teleport as summoner spells.
When you go jungle,ask for a pull at blue and go for red buff when your Smite is ready to be used.When you gank,just use Aegis of Zeonia on the enemy from the river bush.If it is warded then just use your Grand Skyfall in the back of your enemy so he won't see you or just use it in a bush.
Even if this spotlight is old,it still teaches you the main informations that will help you play Pantheon.

Grand Skyfall needs to be mastered
After attacking or casting spells 4 times, Pantheon will gain a shield that will block the next Tower Shot, normal or enhanced standard attack that deals more than 40 damage to him.
This skill blocks some skills too such as : Gangplank's Parrrley, Ezreal's Mystic Shot, Fiora's Blade Waltz and some others...
Pantheon hurls his spear at an opponent dealing physical damage. If Heartseeker Strike has been leveled up once, Spear Shot will crit to deal 150% damage against opponents whose current health is below 15% of their max health.
Use this skill to harras your enemies but don't spam it too much since it's mana cost isn't that small.
Pantheon leaps at an enemy and bashes the enemy with his shield, stunning them for 1 second. Pantheon will also instantly refresh his Aegis Protection.
Use this skill when you want to burst your enemy.After Aegis of Zeonia,use your Heartseeker Strike and when he runes use Spear Shot.
Pantheon focuses and unleashes 3 swift strikes to the area in front of him, dealing double damage to champions. Pantheon also becomes more aware of his enemy's vital spots, allowing him to always crit enemies below 15% health.
This skill's passive is also great.You deal critical strike with your Spear Shot and with your basic attacks while your target is less then 15% health.
Pantheon gathers his strength and then leaps high into the air, crashing down at the target area a few seconds later. Deals up to 400/700/1000 (+1) magic damage to units at the center (down to 50% at the edge) and slows their Movement Speed by 35% for 1 second.
I use this skill to backdoor,for ganks when I jungle and to get faster in a teamfight I wasn't in.
I like these runes on nearly every AD champion since your Spear Shot scales with AD and you can lasthit easier. greater mark of desolation is another great choice too .
These runes help me if I go against a Gangplank or a Tryndamere in lane and jungle monsters deal physical damage.
These runes help me survive against the AP carry of the enemy team.
These runes help me lasthit better and I have that bonus damage in early game.You can change this with greater quintessence of desolation.
Summoner's Wrath -While Ignite is on cooldown it gives you extra damage which helps with lasthitting.
Brute Force -Gives you some attack damage which again helps you lasthit minions and increse the damage of your Spear Shot.
alacrility-Even if it gives a little attack speed helps you take down towers and kill targets faster.
Deadliness -When you are lvl 18,it gives you 9 attack damage which is something and it will help you destroying towers and take down players faster.
Weapon Expertise -This really helps you if the enemy team builds armor and you don't have Last Whisper or The Black Cleaver.
Havoc -In early game 1.5% isn't something big but in late game think of how much damage you deal.
Vampirism -Gives you that lifesteal which helps you in early leveles to stay much more time in lane without recalling.
Sunder - This really helps you if the enemy team builds armor and you don't have Last Whisper or The Black Cleaver.
Executioner -Really helps you finish off faster squishy targets in teamfights and that 6% isn't that little you think.
Summoner's Resolve -It gives you 10 gold everytime you use smite ,which really helps when you are jungling .
Hardiness -It gives you some armor that helps you when you are against AD players in lane.
Durability -You have got some early game health and when you are lvl 18 it will still give some extra damage to you because you have Atma's Impaler.
Indomitable -This may save you from some sittuations.
I usually take this summoner spell on Pantheon because usually I can't kill my target.This is like the finishing blow.Another reason that I like this because it reduces the health regeneration from skills such as Sadism.
I like this skill because it usually means safety.You can Flash over a wall and the chasing is usually stopped since the enemy can't jump over the wall.
I take Smite only when I am jungling.I hate when people say they can jungle without Smite.It is so hard to jungle without a Smite,it's nearly impossible.
I take Teleport when I am going to be in a lane which I know I must often recall.I use this skill to teleport to a minion from a pushed lane to backdoor or to appear in the teamfight even if Grand Skyfall is on cooldown.
I take this skill when I am going in lane against an AD carry.With Exhaust you can escape the carry which left you low HP or kill the carry because it reduces his damage too.
You can take Mercury's Treads when you are against a heavy CC team or when their AP carry gives you trouble.This is a very good choice.
I take these boots when the AD carry usually kills me really easy.I take these even when I lane against a Gangplank or someone else or when i forget to take my runes and can't resist to jungle mobs.
I take these boots when I can resist against my enemies but I need to take them down faster.
I actually don't take phatom dancer but some people aren't familiar with Youmuu's Ghostblade's active , phatom dancer is a great choice for them.
I take Last Whisper when the enemy team builds heavy armor and I can't deal enough damage to kill them anymore.
I take Frozen Mallet when the enemy is faster then me and I can't catch them.I take it when my team doesn't have CC alot.
I take Thornmail when I die so fast cause of my lack of armor.I think Thornmail isn't the best defence item on Pantheon but it sometimes really help you resist without recalling.The cool thing about Thornmail is it's passive.Think of how much damage will take their team's AD carry if he focuses you.
Usually Frozen Heart> Thornmail since it provides you same amount of armor and it provides you mana which will help you use your skills more.The attack speed of your opponents is reduced so that means they will have a harder time in teamfights.
You may take Maw of Malmortius when the enemy team's AP carry gives you trouble.I usually take it instead of Infinity Edge or Youmuu's Ghostblade.It's shied is great too and will help you resist much more in teamfights but it will still provide you enough attack damage so you will still be able to kill your enemies.
Heartseeker Strike vs Spear Shot
I max Heartseeker Strike first because I use Spear Shot to harras more. Aegis of Zeonia+ Heartseeker Strike deals more damage than aegis of zzeonia+ Spear Shot.If you want you can max Spear Shot first but is still think Heartseeker Strike is better even when you jungle since when you go to a buff and use Heartseeker Strike it can kill the two small minions and the Golem or Lizard will be hit with the same damage.
How to Gank
The red line is how you should gank when you are in the red team.
The blue line is how you should gank when you are in the blue team.
However ,the river may sometimes be warded sometimes so what are the circles?
The red circles are where you should use your ulti when you are in the red team.
The blue circles are where you should use your ulti when you are in the blue team.
As you see,ganking mid is pretty hard so I didn't put it on the map.If you go from the river bush,the river is usually warded and wherever you use your ulti the enemy could of see the circle.
I must tell you that the enemy must push his lane to be able to gank.
Your role in teamfights
In teamfights,kill the enemy AD and AP carry and leave your carries the other kills.Never go for the tanks since you don't have true damage to kill them. Pantheon can be a very good initiator while he has his Mercury's Treads too.Playing Pantheon isn't that easy even if it looks.You must play alot of Pantheon to be able to master him but once you have mastered him you can go solo against a Yorick or a Riven.
