I play Ryze a lot and I have had success. My build is taken from bits and pieces of information that I found useful and compiled into one solid build that has helped me win many games. This is my first guide. I will elaborate on it more if this information is useful to other players.

The Runes are pretty straight forward. The movement speed really helps offensive and defensively. No Mana Problems ever. Flat Cool down reduction is a personal preference. You can use something else if you want. CDR just fits my style best so far. Magic Penetration shouldn't really need to be explained.

CORE

Start with your Tear of the Goddess and boots . You should be soloing bottom lane. After you cap the point, stay to the top of the lane. Trust me the health relic is way more of and advantage than the bushes along the bottom (note: this is where you can use your movement speed to your advantage to harass the opponent hiding in the bush then run back to a safe range. Make sure you upgrade to Sorcerer's BootsSorcerer's Shoes ASAP. If the opponent on the other team values the safety of the bush more than the heath relic then you have already have the advantage. Something that a lot of players fail to realize is that you should be trying to build up your Tear using as many abilities as possible while pushing the bottom lane. What you are trying to do is help the minions gather for a big push because when you finally get to the opponents bottom capture point your minions will help you cap it fast. The strategy is to get a wave of minions to the point, promote one to help clear the last few minions then your job is to keep the opponent back till the super minion starts capping. If your opponent flees then congratulations on your first cap, if they are still loitering then they should at least be low on HP and one of their team mates from the top should be coming down to help defend the bottom control point. So even though you may not have gotten a kill you still helped seize the upper hand at the top of the map. The next item I get is Catalyst of theCatalyst of the Protector. The mana and hp per level up is very useful. Next, you should get the Frozen Heart, get the items leading up to it as necessary but usually I have enough gold to just buy it outright. The last item in the core of my build is Odyns veil. The Last few items of my build is where I differ from the other popular Ryze builds. AFTER the core of the build is complete I start building a Will of the Ancients (god mode). Next I either build another Hextech Revolver or I build a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. I never finish the Archangel's Staff until it is the last slot open.

I always use this skill order: R, Q, W, E. .... Should make sense... R = Ultimate....Q = CDR... W = CC... E = BS...

For my summoner Spells I use Flash Flash and Promote Promote/ Ghost Ghost.
