About this Build

I have looked at most of the other Taric build and if you are not building Sheen, then you are doing something wrong. Most guides seem to suggest building Taric as a passive backliner that stands behind the group and drops a heal every so often. This completely ignores the on-hit nature of Taric's passive. You can only spam your abilities while hitting things and this combos great with Sheen. Taric has a ton of sustain when spamming his Q. He is almost invincible as long as he has mana, so why not build in some damage items and start killing everyone.

Summary

Lane Phase:

You should rarely engage before lv 2 as you will not have your heal yet to spam and keep yourself alive. On engage early if you are sure your carry will follow up and get a kill off your stun.

Early game with Sheen, Aftershock, Cheap Shot and Ignite, you should be able to easily delete a lane opponent by yourself if you can land your stun.

A note about your heal. You heal has a pretty long cooldown if you do not reset it with your passive by hitting something. If at any point you need to heal your ally, you should immediately follow that up by hitting a full health minion to reset the heal.

The following is a list of cases where you should use your stun at this phase of the game. Do not waste it by firing it off blindly.

1. Your carry gets jumped: Activate your stun off of them so they can get away or get the kill if they are feeling confident.

2. You get jumped: If you get jumped instead of your carry this is probably a situation where you should stay after you stun them and get an easy kill. You should be able to easily keep your self alive while your carry kills them. Only run away if your carry is MIA or you have been losing lane hard.

3. You plan on going all in for a kill: It is not recommended that you use your stun to poke (no rules are absolute). If you poke on of them with your stun and run away you will likely lose more health than you did damage. Therefore if you engage with your stun you should be all in until they die or get away.

4. Stoping the enemy carry from getting a cannon. Cannons are worth a lot now days, so you can try to use your stun to stop them from last hitting the cannon. Just understand that you risk taking a solid chuck of damage doing this as explained in 3.

Pros/Cons

Your biggest weakness with this build will actually be your allies. Most people forget that Taric can do solid damage and has great sustain. Therefore when you engage your carry may often think you are making a bad play and abandon you.

This is actually also your biggest strength when it comes to the enemy team. Your enemies will constantly see you as an easy kill and think its BS when you beat them in a 1v1, thus causing them to try it again (I'm talking to you Yasuo). People always forget how much burst damage Taric can deal (especially with Sheen), and end up overstaying until you kill them. You should be able to 1v1 almost any champion even if they have slightly more farm than you.
