Hello, my name is Lanoye. This guide will teach you the basics on how to play Shen from my point of view. Shen is a solid top lane champion which destroys people late game 1v1 with his split push and tankiness. Shen has a global ult that is very useful for split pushing, baiting and engaging. Flash Shen taunting more then 3 people will sometimes win you a fight. What Shen basically brings to the table is a support top laner with strong laning capabilities.

Pros + Amazing survivability + Great ultimate for team fights + Nice harass early game + Uses energy + Taunt is nice for ganks

Cons - Medium damage output - You won't take kills - Permabanned most of the time - Expensive items - Can be zoned easily

• Passive: Ki Strike:
  
  This helps you with last hitting, harassing and it does sustained damage.
  
  
• Q: Vorpal Blade:
  
  It is your only ranged attack on Shen and will provide some good harass early on, a little bit of sustain and it helps you with last hitting from some range.
  
  
• W: Feint:
  
  This is your shield ability. Typical shield and is great for trading. Nothing more to say.
  
  
• E: Shadow Dash:
  
  This ability is also known as your 'taunt'. It provides help in some nice situations like: escaping, catching up, engaging and does some magic damage as well.
  
  
• R: Stand United:
  
  Global shield for an ally. This skill is great for baiting team fights and especially split pushing.

This is my personal choice with Shen. I can argue about this all day long, but there never will be a 'correct' rune page for a certain champ. It is just about what you think is the best choice, and against what champion you are up to.
