Intro
Hey! My name is teamplasma!
I've been playing Gnar since his release on the PBE and have really enjoyed him since! He came very easy to me and felt fluent with my play style.
That is why I'm here today to help you become a better Gnar player!
PROS:
CONS:
- Two sets of abilities
- 2 form champions have more viability
- A balanced and safe champion
- Has a safe ranged form
- Is a Yordle
- Great mobility
- Can easily avoid ganks in Mini form
CONS:
- Awkward to play
- Cannot directly control when he switches forms
- Has very little mobility in Mega form
- Cannot ult in Mini form
- Must always be cautious of ganks while in Mega form
Team fights can be tricky.
Here is the essential thought people will have of gnar and team fights:
Mega Gnar will be his only form of contributing, so we should kill him while he is Mini.
That isn't only partly true. They will want to kill you while you are Mini, but you have more fighting potential than just your Mega form.
As Gnar, you should want to start in the backlines of you team in the fight; Throw out boomerangs and gets your stacks of Hyper on them. When you see that they are vulnerable, through out some extra basic attacks to full load your temper. Go in and (for lack of a better word) clean up. You, as bulky mega gnar, will be able to go in, take damage, deal damage, and CC your way to a good team fight.
Here are some general tips for a successful team fight:
-Focus on triggering hyper on one champion at a time. If you can get 2 champions to have had hyper trigger on them in Mini form, then you did well.
-Your boomerang will be even hard to catch in this situation. If you are running in angles or wouldn't be throwing it directly forward, then it might be a bust. Save it for when it is important, you'll need to catch it.
-If you trigger Hyper right before you go into Mega form, you'll be able to join the fight quickly and be more effective in a short amount.
-Make sure you think about where you are ulting. If you ult the enemies at your team, be sure it isn't putting your team at a disadvantage. Stunning them can be just as effective as flinging.
