Introduction

Sharpening my claws...

BLACKSource!
SPEHS
Welcome! Welcome to my first Dominion guide on this incredible champion, Kha'Zix. This dude is an amazing assassin, mayhaps even AD carry that excels in picking off isolated stragglers that dare detach from their team. The isolated target bonus on Taste Their Fear urges players to naturally pick off targets that are alone, and his INCREDIBLE natural mobility helps you achieve these goals. Now, let's get to it, shall we?

Pros / Cons

I will SOAR over them.

SPEHS PROS:
+ Incredible burst DMG.
+ High mobility.
+ Great sustain in fights.
+ One of the better duelists.
SPACE SPACE CONS:
- Melts if focused.
- Hard to pick targets.
- Fails Leap, rarely.
- 1v1 > Teamfights.
SPEHSSPEHS
Okay! As we can see from the listed pros and cons, Kha'Zix is primarily an assassin, designed to pick off stragglers, eat them and evolve. He's also an excellent 1v1 duelist, mainly because of the passive isolation part of Taste Their Fear, and once you get Evolved Enlarged Claws, ain't no one that can conquer you. As Phreak said in the spotlight, ignore most of survivability and focus on mobility and hit-and-run tactics. Use Leap to jump to-and-fro around fights, and when you decide to get Evolved Wings, your mobility increases TENFOLD.

Masteries

Isolate and devour...

SPEHSSPEHS
SPEHS
Reasoning behind these:
Summoner's Wrath - Since I opt to take both Ghost and Ignite, improving them both is only reasonable, isn't it?
Brute Force - AD is always good, innit?
Alacrity - Attack Speed is good for melting squishies. Don't focus on it, tho.
Sorcery - Meh. A point dump. Not a bad one at that. CDR is good!
Deadliness - A scaling AD increasing mastery? YES PLEASE.
Weapon Expertise - Your already sharp claws will be even sharper!
Vampirism - Adds a little more OOMPH to your sustain.
Sunder - See Weapon Expertise .
Executioner - Your 1v1 ganks and duels will be even more deadly to squishies and loners.
SPEHSSPEHS
SPEHS
What about these?
Resistance - Nulls out some early AP harrass.
Hardiness - In case you get caught, these might pull you through.
Durability - THIS. This is what takes squishy out of Kha'Zix.
Veteran's Scars - Combined with the previous mastery, this should help you A LOT early game.
SPEHS
SPEHSSPEHS
Now, let's explain the masteries. Seeing as Kha'Zix is an assassin, focusing mainly into the Offense is quite the obvious choice. This sneaky assassin benefits greatly from Brute Force , Vampirism , Weapon Expertise and the like. The 9 points in Defense may not seem as important on the first glance, but if you delve deeper you'll see just how beneficial these are. Veteran's Scars is just so super awesome. Greater Quintessence of Health, anyone? Keep in mind that later in the game, masteries are marginal at best, so keeps your wits about you when engaging in fights.

Runes

I sense worthy prey...

ztd Greater Mark of Attack Damage - Why? Taste Their Fear. The scaling you get off of these runes is just incredible. I love them so much. They're amazing. Even at the beginning, your Q will deal a ****ton of DMG to squishies that stay further back from their team.
SPEHS
Greater Mark of Desolation - If you prefer ArP to AD, sure. Go ahead. Kha'Zix still benefits greatly, almost equally from both marks, so pick out those you prefer the most. You shouldn't do worse with one kind over the other.

ztd Greater Seal of Armor - Flat Armor is, I found, what works best. Yes, you have to wade into melee range to do some damage with Taste Their Fear, or even heal with Void Spike. So these should help keep you alive while you do your work.
ztd
Greater Seal of Vitality - Since this guide is meant for Dominion, you'll hit 6 really fast. Since these runes outrank their flat Greater Seal of Health counterparts at 6, swapping Armor for HP/lvl may be a viable choice.

ztd Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - About the same reasoning as it is behind Greater Seal of Vitality. MR/lvl is really nice and it'll blow past flat glyphs really fast, so it's probably the wiser choice to pick these over flat runes.
ztd
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction - More often than I care to remember, I found myself in dire need for Leap. Now if I had these, that probably wouldn't have happened. These might just give you the extra second either to get out of a deadly gank or finish off their fed kill streaked AD carry. BYE BYE Vayne! Tumble in hell, you *****!

ztd Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage - Woo! More AD! No but seriously, I truly love flat AD on Kha'Zix. Why? He's NOT an autoattack champ, like Nocturne. Thusly, your spells scale off of AD immensly and every point counts. It does! Really!
ztd
Greater Quintessence of Desolation - Ah, what can I say? Still a matter of personal prefference. Kha'Zix benefits greatly from both ArP and AD, so pick your poison. Really, it's a tie between such runes, so go for what you want.

SPEHSSPEHS
To sum up, these are pretty standard AD champ runes, albeit with a slight deviation regarding my preffered Greater Mark of Attack Damage and Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage. You should have no problems dealing with AP carries, supports and AD carries early game. You'll have to take better care with bruisers and offtanks, tho.

Summoner Spells

They'll never see me...

SPEHSSPEHS
Optimal choices, a.k.a. GET ME IF YOU CAN, PLEASE!
SPEHSSPEHS
ztd ztd Ghost? Aren't there enough Speed Shrines over Dominion as it already is? Yes, yes there are. Trust me when I say you'll wish you had Ghost with you more often than not. Be it capturing a priority point or defending one of your bases from capture, chasing or escaping, Ghost fills in the gaps between Speed Shrines. ztd
SPEHS
ztd ztd Ignite is here not only as a great True DMG finisher, but also as a supportive spell while it's on CoolDown. Thanks to our Summoner's Wrath mastery, we get 5 AD while Ignite is cooling down. Not much, but it's a neat little added bonus to this awesome spell. ztd
SPEHSSPEHS
Viable spells, a.k.a. IF YOU CAN'T STAND Ghost and/or Ignite!
SPEHSSPEHS
ztd ztd Flash is a great escape tool. Mainly an escape tool, yes, but it's also great when chasing down squishy targets that somehow managed to survive your inital onslaught. Since I don't take Utility masteries, I don't like taking this spell, but hey! Each to his own, eh? ztd
SPEHS
ztd ztd Exhaust... It was a hard debate when I had to choose between Ignite and Exhaust. I took Ignite mainly for its long lasting component of +5 AD when it's on CD. Exhaust is still more than viable, and I myself often alternate between the two spells when I play. Pick it if you want to ensure that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can escape... you can almost Taste Their Fear, can't you? ztd
SPEHSSPEHS
Anything not listed here is bad. One way or the other, you're better off picking up one of these instead of, I dunno... Clarity. Leave the other spells to tanks/supports while you focus on offense. Need I say more?

Skill Sequence and Evolutions

Position for ambush.

SPEHSSPEHS
Naturally, at level 1 in Dominion, pick up all of your spells. Rank 'em up all once, because they're just too good to ignore. Afterwards, follow this:
SPEHS
> > /
SPEHS
Take your Void Assault whenever you can. Evolutions will be explained next. Then, prioritize Taste Their Fear and try to maintain both Void Spike and Leap at about the same level. Throughout my games I found out that this setup actually works extremely well when we take into consideration Cooldowns and Damage.
SPEHSSPEHS

EVOLUTIONS

SPEHSSPEHS
ztd In my honest opinion, the absolute best evolution Kha'Zix could get. I always evolve this first, and I urge you to do the same. When you Evolve Enlarged Claws, you're gonna see just how much damage Kha'Zix can dish out to isolated targets. Also, Taste Their Fear combined with this becomes an excellent finisher, due to the passive component of this evolution.
SPEHS
ztd Meh. Evolving Void Spike is a marginally useful evolution. I never got this, honestly. Only get this if you're gettin' steamrolled HARD and need greater sustain. Don't get it for chasing. Explanation is as follows...
SPEHS
ztd Now THIS is the evolution to get for chasing. I usually get this second and I'm always amazed at it's utility. Not just utility, tho! Its damage component is nothing to laugh at, as it acutally has a decent scaling (0.8 dmg per AD), making Leap all the more deadly!
SPEHS
ztd The third and final evolution I get. You can swap the order between evolving Leap and Void Assault if you need that extra survivability. The third charge for stealth is also incredible in duels because it triggers Unseen Threat. Nothing to laugh at, eh?

Items

A different view.

SPEHSSPEHS
Okay, so this should be your start:
SPEHSSPEHS SPEHSSPEHS
Picking up these items should give you ALL you need. Damage, Health, Movement Speed are all excellent stats. On your second trip back, try to pick these up:
SPEHSSPEHS SPEHSSPEHS
Why? Because you'll get out of CC lickety split with Mercury's Treads and the DMG and ArP you get from The Brutalizer should get you well on your way towards domination. Pun intended. Grab Ninja Tabi if you're facing a LOT of AD champs. Next; work towards this:
SPEHSSPEHS SPEHSSPEHS
Whoa there pardn'r! Those are some mighty costly items, wouldn't you say? Yes, but if you're playing it right you should have no monetary issues whatsoever. Anyway, the way to start out your Sanguine Blade is with Vampiric Scepter if you need sustain, or with B. F. Sword if you want DMG. Start Maw of Malmortius with Hexdrinker first for the MR, swap The Brutalizer for Last Whisper because at this point % based ArP > Flat ArP, and then get your Entropy any way you want. Remember that it's designed so that you use the active! Now, if you're SOMEHOW still in-game, top off with this:
SPEHSSPEHS SPEHSSPEHS
Kitae's Bloodrazor is a pretty decent item, what with its AS/AD and Health per Hit passive. Odyn's Veil is there for MR. 'Nuff said.

Gameplay

Die running.

SPEHS
Hey! You're still here! Awesome! Now, let's get to gameplay. Since Dominion is EXTREMELY fast, I'll simply put down general guidelines for you to follow, dear reader. It seems kind of pointless to divide this in early, mid and late game when each phase lasts for a couple of minutes most...
SPEHSSPEHS
What you should do throughout the entire game is finding isolated targets and Taste Their Fear their *** until they melt. Never stop moving between Speed Shrines, objectives and enemies UNLESS you are asked to defend a single point. This doesn't mean you should be stupid and engage in a 5v1 fight. If you KNOW you're overpowered, run and call for aid. When your team arrives, pick off squishies by using Taste Their Fear and Leap to get to them. In the fights, keep weaving your Void Assault in between your attacks so that your Unseen Threat can proc. If dueling, stand your ground and hit with Taste Their Fear followed by Void Spike. If you're out of your league, Ghost or Leap out and find safety so that you can continue being useful. Try not to stand in the middle of teamfights, and I generally prefer to stay away from bot.
SPEHSSPEHS
Oh, and don't forget. Make them PRAY FOR THEIR LIVES.
