Threats to Ekko with this build
|Yasuo||Easy, dodge his Q with your E, into a E-Q combo, proc his passive first before trade.|
|Veigar||he can burst you down if you have not much magic resist, but just E out of his stun and burst him back, he is basically butter.|
|Zed||easy, just dodge his ult and even if you can't, you still have your ult to trade back. easy lane gg wp.|
Hi guys, welcome to my Ekko TANK guide.
You guys might be wondering, "WTF does this noob have to tell me about Ekko? I'm probably well off even without this guide" but let me tell you this. I've been playing Ekko since he first came out, and trust me, this build will make you burst ADC's like butter, make you more slippery than prison soap, and make you more durable than...you know what I mean.
Tankko is legit OP trust me on this.
you can carry games even when a teemo goes 1/20/2 against a tryndamere.
so without further due, lets get into the guide.
Pros / Cons
- Hard to kill
- High damage even with tacky build
- AOE stun, game changing ult
- high mobility
- insane outplay potential
- prone to hard CC
- low early base damage
- iten reliant
- can only do single target elimination
- bad against certain match ups
Max Q for most damage, E for more damage, and W last because all you need is the stun, not the shield since you are tacky enough. Always max ult when you can.
In early game, it's all about getting the farms. after the base damage nerf on Ekko, he's early game trading isn't as good anymore, so focus on farming until lv2-4 wish to start trading.Let jungles chase you when you have ult. even if you are low, the ult at the right moment can make serious outplays.
Tip: an easy and effective trade is to first dodge any form of skillshot(or any abilities the enemy laner throws at you as a poke) with your E (Phase Dive) press Q at the same time at the targeted direction so it cancels out the animation, proc the passive and get away with the extra movement speed before the enemy retaliates. don't chase too far without your ult, because some champions can stun you under turret early game, and greediness can cost your life.
I will assume you at least got a kill or so and has already finished Rod of Ages. You'll start doing decent damage, and be tacky at the same time. Roam if you have to. You'll need a few kills to complete the build so feel free to roam bot lane or help out your top later when your mid laner is not around. Roam=kills=snowballing=tankiness=i can't die=but i can kill you still.
Tip: Remember not to only use your Ult only to escape, but use it wisely as it will do decent damage even when you don't have a lot of AP, and can easily be the difference between a double kill and a no kill. Always keep track of your shadow and make sure to activate it at the right time. Engage in team fights, focus the ads before they do damage, and change fight courses with a well placed ult.
You'll probably have around 3000 HP and 400 AP or more by now. (If your team is not losing really bad) Focus the ADC, the W-E-Q combo can easily take out 2/3 of an average ADC's health even with Magic resist. Be the Engager in team fights, you W's 2 second stun can make all the difference.
Tip: When you see an allied champion under attack and is low on health, remember to W in front of the enemy champion because he will most likely go for the kill even if he sees your circle.(Low Elo only XD)
REMEMBER: even with a tank build, Ekko ult can do as much as 1500 damage, and is a waste to use it only to save you life, use it to nuke down enemy crowds with its AOE damage and change the course of team fights!
EZ trade hit-and-run:
E-Q(sametime)-proc passive, run away
all in combo:
W(where your shadow will be, and where the enemy is)-Ult into your W, E-Q combo
