Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Darius is an incredibly fun champion to play. his harass in lane is unbelievable, he has great sustain, and he can dunk so many people with his ultimate in teamfights. he has awesome skins and is so imposing in-game. I hope you enjoy my build.
lore
Darius and his brother Draven grew up as orphans in the port city of Basilich. Darius struggled to provide for them both, constantly fighting with gangs of older urchins and anyone else who threatened his little brother—even the city guard. Every day on the streets was a battle for survival, and Darius earned more scars by his twelfth summer than some soldiers do in a lifetime.
After Basilich was seized by the expanding Noxian empire, the victorious commander Cyrus saw the strength in these defiant brothers, and they found a home within the ranks of his warhost. Over the years, they fought in many grueling campaigns of conquest from one end of the known world to the other, as well as crushing a number of rebellions against the throne.
Within the empire, anyone could rise to power, no matter their birth, culture, or background, and none embraced this ideal more fervently than Darius. From humble beginnings, he rose steadily through the ranks, always putting duty before all else, and garnering great respect for his aggression, discipline, and refusal to ever take a backward step. On the bloodsoaked fields of Dalamor Plain, he even beheaded a Noxian general after the coward ordered a retreat. Roaring in defiance and hefting his bloodied axe overhead, Darius rallied the scattered warbands and won a great and unexpected victory against a far more numerous foe.
He was rewarded with a senior command of his own, attracting many thousands of eager recruits from across the empire. Darius turned the majority away, accepting only the strongest, the most disciplined and iron-willed. Such was his fearsome notoriety, even in the lands beyond Noxus, that it was not uncommon for entire cities to surrender at the first sight of his banners.
After a grinding victory against the cloud-fortresses of the Varju, a proud warrior people who had resisted decades of Noxian aggression, Darius was named the Hand of Noxus by Emperor Boram Darkwill himself. Those who knew Darius best knew he craved neither power nor adulation—he wished merely to see Noxus triumph over all—so Darkwill ordered him and his warhosts far north into the Freljord, to finally bring the barbarian tribes to heel.
The campaign dragged on for years, ending in a bitter, icy stalemate. Darius narrowly survived assassination attempts, ambushes, and even capture by the vicious Winter’s Claw. He was growing weary of endless wars of attrition, and returned to Noxus to demand a reconsolidation of the military.
He marched his veterans into the capital, only to find that the emperor was dead, killed in a coup led by Jericho Swain. The act had been supported by many allies, including Darius’s own brother, Draven.
This was a difficult position. As Hand, many of the noble houses would expect Darius to avenge Darkwill, but he had known and greatly respected the disgraced general Swain, and had spoken against his discharge after the botched offensive in Ionia some years earlier. The oaths of the Hand were to Noxus, not any particular ruler, and Swain was a man who spoke honestly of his new vision for the empire. Darius realized this was a leader he was prepared to follow... but Swain had other ideas.
With the establishment of the Trifarix, three individuals would rule Noxus together, each embodying one principle of strength: Vision, Might, and Guile. Darius gladly accepted his place on this council, and pledged to raise a new, elite force—the Trifarian Legion, the most loyal and prestigious warriors the empire could produce—and lead the armies of Noxus into a glorious new age of conquest.

Runes
Hail of Blades this runes is a complete lifeline when it comes to this build as it allows you to completely shred any opponent applying Hemorrhage very quickly allowing you to get the AD boost very early early in any fight
Grasp of the Undying allows you to have more sustain in the massive teamfights where Darius shines. Note that this requires you to be constantly auto attacking for the heals to be used to its fullest potential
Conqueror grants you a massive amount of true damage when you are in extended fights. However it negrlects the defensive part of Darius, meaning you are semi-squishy. This rune combined with the armor penetration from your E makes building Armor against you very inefficient.

Items
Black Cleaver this is a very good item on Darius as it works with his passive Hemorrhage making it easy to stack up the armor reduction. the AD, CDR, health, and MS are also invaluable
Blade of the Ruined King is invaluable with this build as when you are stacking up your passive on someone you will be doing 5% of their current health per auto attack without calculating in AD. the attack speed and lifesteal is also very nice
Trinity Force is a viable alternative to Black Cleaver, as Darius actually has a very high base AD, and his Crippling Strike works as an auto reset, thus, it can apply on-hit and on-attack effects, including Spellblade. The attack speed from Trinity Force also allows Darius to stack Hemorrhage faster with autos. it also grants MS
Frozen Mallet the slows allow you to get all 5 auto's easily
Dead Man's Plate is often very valuable to build on Darius due to his complete lack of mobility, while still giving some favorable extra stats. Turbo Chemtank is also a viable option for the same reason.
Spirit Visage is a good option against magic damage champions, as it increases Darius' healing from his Decimate and it is overall the magic resistance item that provides the highest amount of tankyness against magic damage.
[Mortal Reminder]] and Thornmail are both viable options for Grievous Wounds items for Darius. The former provides higher damage potential and even more armor penetration, in addition to its Grievous Wounds lasting for longer and being better against sustain casters, especially those that deal magic damage and don't mind Thornmail's armor, such as Vladimir and Swain. With that said, Thornmail is a viable option because it doesn't sacrifice any tankyness, and Darius tend to already have a lot of armor reduction, between Apprehend and Black Cleaver.
Death's Dance is often purchased just for the healing and attack speed, if you don't desperately need either don't buy this item
guinso's rageblade is an item for when you don't have enough firepower after you trigger your passive, don't get it otherwise as it gives AP which you cannot use
Frozen Heart is just if you are taking more damage than you would like as it gives a large amount of armor

ability analysis
Passive:
this is what makes darius, Darius. It is effectively a free ignite if you get all five stacks on someone. The Bonus Ad becomes Massive at later level (240 AD!). Try to stack all five stacks of this on someone if a gank is coming.
Q:
this is your main poke. The damage is increased and you get a heal if the enemy is struck with the edge of the skillshot. The heal with spirit visage get to 47% of your missing health if you hit at least three champions. Use it for poke and teamfights.
W:
This is your main damage outside of your ultimate. It has a 160% Ad ratio, which Darius can make very good use of. Its your choice whether to wait until you have the bonus AD from your passive to make full use of the damage, or use the AA reset to get your stacks faster. The slow is very usefull in sticking to your target.
E:
This is your main engage. You can use this to kidnap a squishy from over a wall if you position right. Or you can make use of the armor penetration to shred the enemy top laner. Whatever you use this flexible ability for is up to you
R:
this is exactly what is sounds like: an resetting execute. If a target is at low health and you don't have five stacks of your passive yet, then you can ult to kill them and get NOXIAN MIGHT instantly. Its best used in teamfights where you can make the best use of the reset.
