Early Game

During the early game warwick like every champion has to farm. To be safe in lane it is recomended to buy a sight ward as his lifesteal makes him able to stay in the lane without many pots. Warwick during the early game is relied to his first ability Hungering Strike.

It is recommended to buy Boots as first item for two main reasons:
  • So to be mobile in case of an ally or enemy gank.
  • So that gold will be enough for potions and wards.
Alternatively Doran's Ring can be used as first item to offer health ability power and mana regen and thus stronger lane.

Early game aim as warwick is to buy Mercury's Treads early in order to have mobility and thanks to some wards even be able to counter the enemy jungle. His passive Blood Scent is just amazing for this job.

Mid Game

In mid game warwick wether he has dominated the top lane he has to pushing his top lane while also jungling and leading his team when all together. The goal in mid game for a warwick is to buy Wit's End, Glacial Shroud and Madred's Bloodrazor. That would offer some damage and great survive ability offering both armor and magic ressist. It would be considerable to buy Ionic Spark if the enemy team has low or not ability power at all, for example if the enemy's team mid champion is Talon. Additionally items such as aegis of legion and zeke's herald would be helpful as they help his team as well.

Late Game

In late game warwick is the teams leading tank. He focuses on buying tanky items such as Guardian Angel, Sunfire Aegis and completing Frozen Heart. Buying Frozen Mallet would be great offering a litle bit of damage while also surviveability and great crowd control so that warwick doesn't have to rely on his ultimate Infinite Duress to be effective.

Why not to build full ad warwick

What i constantly see is Warwick buying Phantom Dancer, Black Cleaver and so on. Well first of all the idead of melee ad carry is proven to be very bad. Few champions can hundle the pressure of being melee and escaping that way the focus such as Master Yi and Fiora. But even these are easily focused to death. Warwick on the other hand has no escape mechanism. Additionally Warwick hundles exceptionally the role of tanking.
