Posted this on the LoL Site forums, but No one can see it due to troll posts and all that, So I thought I'd share with the kind people of Mobafire. What do you guys think?

Who else would support the idea of selecting the role you want to play before you enter Que. This idea is based off of ranked game team composition. AD Carry, Support, AP Mid, Jungler, and Solo top. So when you enter Que as an AD carry for example, you will get matched up with a Jungler, AP Mid, Support and Solo top. "Why do this?" Some people might ask, I'll tell you why. Players could get into games faster due to the fact you wouldn't have 3 players fighting over who wants to jungle or mid ect. Recently I've been in Queue for 5 minutes because there has been at least 2 or 3 players that wanted to jungle/mid/AD Carry/Solo top. This eventually leads to players to Queue dodge, throwing everyone else back in Queue. If Riot added this option into the game, Players could play the role that they are expecting to play without all the fighting and confusion between other players. Not only would this increase player satisfaction, but this would also ensure good team composition every game. This way you won't have 2 or 3 AD carry's or a large quantity of any other role. Plus, this crazy idea has the potential to increase ELO on low ELO players. Many of us lose ranked games in Solo Queue due to people being forced to play champs they do not want to or champs that they are not very good at. Please vote in the Poll, if you vote "No" please leave a comment below on why you think otherwise. Thank you

I've put this suggestion up for Riot a long time ago, never got any response there either.

It's a sound idea for sure, I could see why they wouldn't wana try to code it but the end result would be happier customers. It might make Queue for more popular roles much longer while the less popular roles would get in game almost instantly.

The only other issues is this kind of "forces" a team into the cookie cutter roles that Riot (assuming this were implemented) designated for Queue selections. Not that we don't already have that now but it does limit the flexibility for team comp...

Insanity; a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world.
Thx to effinvices for the sig!

Although i'm not ranked yet (only level 27 atm) I would support this sort of system. It's quite annoying when i queue for a normal match and i end up paired with people who all want the same spot. Even worse when they don't say anything in the lobby, and then rant about how they wanted mid ingame.
If i need to shrink this to fit any guidelines, let me know.

True. However, for example, Even riot knows that players don't only jungle with champs that are tagged as jungle in the champions section. Maybe they could update this and make this idea Possible. I know for a fact that all of us at some point have fought over a role that we wanted to play due at least 1 other player in Queue also wanting to play the same role.

I dont report anyone for not playing meta either. This is just an idea and it does not necessarily have to be based off of the composition that I stated. This idea can be done with more than 1 team comp, for players that want to play 2 top 2 bot 1 mid ect.

I get where the idea is coming from BUT as the Op state it does have a lot to do with meta, riot would have to flip it with meta shifts there will be some anti meta etc. People could troll it easier and it would increase Que times. I feel the work they would have to put in for a result that is not even amazing is not worth the effort. It would most likely have a play what team needs option as well, and if the guy gets stuck on support or something may say screw it pick something else and move on.

TLDR; system has to many quirks and would not be able to work in realistic situations.

When you start a queue, you could check roles you want to play : in exemple, I duo Q with a friend. He wants mid and I want jungle. So we both check Jungle and Mid and we both get put into a team that is looking for a jungler and an AP carry. If I can do everything, I just have to check everything.

@Yukimaru : This ''checklist'' thing should not be based on the metagame, but on the lanes. What I mean is, in the current meta, bruiser is top, ap carry mid, support bot and adc bot without forgetting the jungler. A checklist based on the current meta would be as follow : AD carry, Support, Jungler, Bruiser and AP carry. Since this metagame is LoL's cancer, it would be dumb as hell to force people to follow it. A checklist based on the lane would be as follow : Top, Mid, Bot, Jungle. You check the lane you want to go in, and you,re teamed up in a team that is looking for someone to lane there.

I personally believe it would be a great thing for matchmaking. Too many people get stucked playing position they are not comfortable in, resulting in a loss, generally.

In exemple :If X checked for the positions of AP Carry, Bruiser, Jungle and Support, no one is gonna force X to go ADC, a role that he's not comfortable in

+rep me and you'll get good karma, wich means you won't be reincarnated into a rock! Isn't that awesome?

But yes this idea has been discussed more than Pam Anderson's tits in a plastic surgeons office.
