Hey all, we've had unusually high traffic recently (as you might have guessed!) and we have been hitting some new bottlenecks. I've been working on it all day today and at the moment things are running MUCH smoother. I still have more to do, I'll be keeping at it, but let us know in this thread if you continue to have any load issues. If any specific pages or actions seem worse than others, let us know about that too.
Regarding ads, if there is ever an overbearing ad running (especially with sound - we do not allow sound!), please take a screenshot and report it to us right away. We will always go after them to have them blocked, but not everyone sees the same ads, so you may be seeing one that we aren't.
That said, the issues you've been noticing on the site recently are not related to ads. It has been our servers and code hitting bottlenecks with traffic growth, especially over the last few days. Our ads load asynchronously, so if the page is stalling it is our fault, not the ads.

Hey Matt, thanks for dropping in! Good to know that it's just a traffic issue and things are being sorted. Any idea about the odd widths of the images in my ranked thread?

Personally, I don't like the giant ads that fill the sides of the site (which used to go away when you were logged in -.-) and I had some issues with auto-play videos a while ago, which is the main reason I still run it on here.
I actually thought mobafire was being ddos'd

I noticed something similar while I was helping someone out with their guide, though once I refreshed it I did notice it had actually saved the changes. We're aware of that issue though, will look into it :)
It's worth noting that I was having issues with previews of posts just seeming to break the page at times. When I'd hit "preview" the page would just never load at all and I'd have to just back to the thread and start over because refreshing didn't do anything.
Just an update. All the optimizations don't seem to have been enough - the site started to slow down again this morning. I've built a new server and added it to our pool, I just put it online a few minutes ago and it has made a pretty drastic difference. I may put a second new server up in the next few days as well depending on how this goes. Fingers crossed, that should do it :)
