One of the things that drive people to discredit MOBAFire is the lack of highly rated guides that are actually of a decent quality. Well, what can we do to improve this? I suggest that Veteran and Scout should be separated in order to increase the amount of quality control on the site. Veterans should NOT automatically get the same privileges that a scout does. Veteran should merely be a measure of activity or popularity and scout should be related to actually player knowledge or skill. Thus I suggest that in order to qualify for scout a member of the site should take a basic competency test of some kind. As another method of becoming a scout a member can be recommended based on certain criteria (i.e. high elo). Any thoughts or suggestions? Do you agree or disagree? Let me know here.

Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
We've discussed separating the vets/scouts into something based on ELO and the consensus was a resounding "No" We're currently discussing something else in the vet forums that deals with power. Dunno where it's gonna go though.

discussions aside, I actually agree with this idea...titles related to promoting guides should be based on general knowledge of the game/theory and ability to play...not popularity.
Me, crazy? well...............maybe just a teensy bit.

What happens if the player has skill/total knowledge of the game AND is constantly active and popular? Then it could be possible another class is created?

If you'd ask me, a professional and skilled player should receive the class "Elite" while only those who are both professional, skilled, contributional and active THEN get the title Veteran

You've got this all the wrong way around, hommie. It's not the old vets that are doing wrong, it's the new scouts.
Old vets at least +rec'd guides they knew were good. Current scouts just +scout anything that *looks* good.
