Yeah we were actually just discussing that the only way to the main forum list is now 2 (or 3) clicks. We will have a fix for it shortly, we're going to add it to the submenu. It's still just one click that way but you'll have to hover and click so it's a little slower.
The only alternative would be if we put the community portal down in to the submenu and linked the menu itself back to the forums like it was before. However, then people will not see the community portal. We invite any and all feedback on this of course, but part of the idea for the community portal as we discussed with you guys, was to expose more people to more of the content that often goes unnoticed.

:D Thanks guys!
I decided to check out all the guides and I see this:

Not sure what the check boxes are for?
Also, the wording should really be changed.
MobaFire is home to LoL builds and guides for every champion in every role, created and rated by League of Legends fans. Browse or search our massive database of LoL strategy guides to easily find information to suit your requirements. Filters can help you sort and find guides you are most interested in. Help our dedicated authors by sharing your opinions through rating and commenting on the guides you view.
^ Still not really eloquent. I think the paragraph is outdated in general.

+rep ^^
So Matt, thought I'd comment on the filters and the landing page itself. As the first thing people see when looking for a guide, it is not very intuitive, or aesthetically pleasing. LoLKing's is far more asthetically pleasing in the sense of choosing a champion, but they lack the filter system MobaFire has. So overall, MobaFire's system for finding a guide is far better. But there is definitely room for improvement. Filters:
CHAMPION: I think that instead of having a drop down menu for select champion, perhaps all champion icons (like LoLKing but better, so it doesn't take up so much space) could be listed below the option of filtering for new/free/roles. When you think of it, you don't really pick a champion based on whether they're melee or ranged, but rather the role they play. Melee/ranged could be a separate filter later on, if necessary, but shouldn't be the primary one. It should also be a responsive search too, so if you start to type "as", champions with "as" in their name turn up.
MAP: Should come before LANE, as some maps don't have those lanes. So the lanes filter should suit whatever map is chosen.
ROLE: Speaking of roles, the current roles are outdated and should be marksman, support, mage, assassin, fighter and tank.
GUIDE: Guide type seems like an outdated filter. People don't use MobaFire for team and humour guides anymore. Probably should just be Champion or General. Speaking of team guides, it's a separate topic, but I think that the option of having multiple champions in a single guide is not useful or even utilised - not to mention, it confuses people when they first get into guide making (also, new users don't know how to switch teams or builds in the cheat sheet, so it's not fulfilling its purpose anyway). In the option of "full guide" there should Featured too (unless featured guides don't actually join a list anywhere). It should be automatically on S7 instead of S4, or S6 at the least.
GAMEMODE: Potential new filter? Might be a new avenue for general guides if you're able to write about gamemodes.
"FRESHNESS": Instead of having FR=fresh (which makes me think BR, as in Brazil for whatever reason), maybe it'd be better to have S7 to show it is up to scratch with the season. Maybe if the author has updated after a patch, it could show the patch number?
As for the text - again, I know it has to be there for spider crawlers, but could it be put into tables or something, with graphics? Three columns, three graphics, three lots of text. First column could be the announcement about guides and filtering/sorting them. Second column could be about voting/commenting/joining the discussion. Third column about making your own guide.

Community portal looks great. So great that I'd replace the homepage with it any time. If I'm not the only one in this, it might be nice to actually make that an option (though I could also edit my bookmark of course, and I think I'll be doing so right now). That will also bring the forums back to once-click away for those who like that. Or maybe add a button to the forums in the top bar when you're logged in, next to the notifications and PMs. Logged in users are probably the only ones who care about the forums anyway.
EDIT: Jhoi, I don't know which page you're talking about, but if you can't bother reading some text, it's probably not worth putting it there for SEO as well. Serving crawlers is great and all, but websites are for users. There are other ways to tell crawlers what's up without bothering users. So, stand tall and tell them off :P

********'s a pretty good fertilizer
Thanks for the feedback jhoijhoi! We have added your notes to our own. There is more coming!
@ Latest Legend The homepage serves an important job and we have to target it for that. The community page actually is a compromise on that. We can't modify the homepage to do all the things our regulars would like, so we built a new homepage just for you guys, which is the community page. I suggest setting your bookmark to this new page, and giving us feedback on any improvements you'd like to see, until it's a perfect homepage for you guys.
For the forum navigation, we're discussing some options. More to come!

We're excited to now be able to show you a project we've been working on for a while now: the new Community Portal. This is the new landing page for the Community button on the nav menu. It pulls together all sorts of community activity from various feeds and puts them in one place, making it easier for the MOBAFire community to keep up with all the goings on in and around MOBAFire. :)
Here's all the feeds you can find in the community portal:
Another feature that the community has been asking for for quite some time is finally here! Localized time zones and timestamps across MOBAFire. Your time zone will be auto-detected based on your browser time zone, and all timestamps should be converted properly, but let us know if we missed anything because there are a lot of timestamps on MOBAFire!
We hope you enjoy these updates, and as always please leave any feedback or thoughts in the comments! <3
