Moderators are promoted as needed. It's not a rank that rewards valuable forum members (that's what veterans are). There are plenty of really awesome and active people on the forums that aren't mods (see: jhoijhoi's Rep count).

Electro, admin don't think I have the temperament to be a mod. And I'm not going to push for something that they don't support. I'm happy being a mod on another site where the admin promoted me because they trust me ^^
Edit for clarity: What I meant was, I would rather be promoted due to the admin feeling like I suited the role and could be trusted not to abuse mod rights (Tosh's assessment is right, I'd pretty much be the thought police, but a nice version 8D), than be promoted because I ask for it.
