Curious to what other people are building her I check the guide section for her. I was very surprised to find most of the builds include a trinity force on her. It was to my knowledge a sub par item due to the sheen component. So why is everyone trying builds with a trinity? Especially when the creator said he designed her not to use sheen/trinity. They must have some really good pot lol.

Besides that I am curious how everyone is building her. I start with dorans blade though shield would be fine too, and get ionian boots (sometimes mercs) followed by a brut. At this point I get a major AD item before building phage/mallet. Other times (with lots of AP carries, like akali) I build mercs into a hex before brut.

So please post the different item builds you have done with her so far.

Right now im having trouble deciding what the best starting item is for her, honestly i think its dorans shield. This allows you to solo top easily and also gives you the luxury to focus on dmg items till midgame when you should pickup your hexdrinker.

Honestly the best build i have found so far for her is to stack BTs

Not too sure about ghostblade, although the active gets you thru that rough patch after your blow your cooldowns you can pop your ult+ghostblade and your auto attacks will do some srs dmg, then your abilities are back up to position yourself for a wave

So right now im going
Shield
Boots lvl 1
Brut
Ionian boots
BT
BT
Ghostblade
BT

Right now im using offense mastery with 6 points into defense, but once i can afford dodge runes i plan to go into defense to nimbleness, use dodge runes and i think this will drastically change my build for i will drop ghostblade for something els

Trinity Force itself isn't necessarily a bad item on Riven. Riven's design was specifically to make Sheen a subpar item.

TriForce still maintains value through its on-hit slow chance proc and movement speed. If the guides you browsed have Sheen, then it's a matter of a user lacking information about Riven. (That probably means they don't really know a thing about Riven, lol)

If that's the logic wouldn't it be slightly more viable to rush Frozen Mallet and Zeal/PD?

Stacking BT doesn't seem bad, but maybe I would get a zeal(or a phage) in there somewhere for the ms, I am having troubles with people getting away unless I blow all my dashes to get in range for a stun. A mallet might work too but its expensive and slows down your BT stacking.

The ghost blade is mostly for the cdr. The active and armor pen is icing on the cake.

I've been having a lot of success with this:

Doran's Blade
Boots
The Brutalizer
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Bloodthirster
Youmuu's Ghostblade
Hexdrinker
Guardian Angel

and I haven't had a game go long enough for me to sell the Doran's Blade. Either another BT or Frozen Mallet probably.

Oh also I have been building her with armor rune and mr runes. I also believe that a dorans shield is the best starting item. Your AAs are complete **** until you get some AD so the life steal on dorans blade don't help much. I find myself constantly going back to base early game to heal with dorans balde (especially if the enemy ranged is harassing me) The health regen is much better for early game lane sustainability.

Dorans -> Dorans -> boots -> BF Sword -> Merc -> Zeal -> Black Cleaver -> BT -> Phantom.

or switch out BC for an IE, depends on enemy comp. Early BT builds are wasteful without proper AS to stand on.

the thing with trinity force is that she's like lee sin with her passive, you want to attack between every spell cast.

lee sin does not use the mana/barely any ap from sheen yet trinity force is a standard on him.
