Hey there!

Some info before reading.
I am lvl 23 atm, have all tier 3 runes for this guide I follow, and I am playing as the guide told me to.

I bought Renekton a few weeks ago because I saw him in action doing very well, insane damage early and mid game. Dived into fights alot.

I looked up the guides on mobafire, followed the "Renekton: Croc Chop! (How to Drive a Movie Theater)" guide.
It seems to be an "tanky" build/guide somehow, but I see they also write about alot damage having Atmas with alot health.

When Im playing Renekton following this guide Im not doing good damage at all. I feel very squishy even with this insane health-pool. Basicly useless.

According to the guide I am doing correct, but according to me that guide sucks.

Today I faced a few Renektons who said they are using all points in Offensive tree, and they also did INSANE damage. Id guess 21/9 if they are lvl 30.

Anyhow...
Could someone help me explain what I might do wrong? I am also intrested to try out full Offensive mastery, thou I do not know wich items to focus on If I go full out on Offensive.

Would be glad if someone linked an mastery tree of the best possible offensive talents played with Renekton, and also an "mini-guide" of wich items to go for in wich order. All guides Ive seen for renekton is only Defensive masterys :(

Thanks in advance!

Its been a while since I played renekton but ill help you out the best i can. There coild be many things you could have done wrong.
Try harassing with the combo E>W>Q>E. Most likely they wont be able harass you back
So you have the advantage. By doing this combo over and over again, you will eventually win your lane. (considering if you dont gank of course) Maybe its also not your fault and its just that your jungler isn't helping you at all. Remember to tell your jungler to gank whenever possible, maybe even get a ward in so you can harass them without much fear. Make sure to max Q out first as its your only way to substain in lane.

Thats all i could think of right now but if your really interested on what your doing wrOng, you can post a replay of one of your matches and have the people of this community take a look ;]

You feel squishy because the items in that guide dont give you any armor. It seems like that build is focused only on increasing your health. If you are playing against an ability power teem get a Banshee's Veil or Force of Nature, if you're facing an AD team then throw in Thornmail or Randuin's Omen. I think that's it, you just need the appropriate items for the enemy you're facing. I would say start building these after you finish Mercury's Treads

I will Ryze to the occasion... hur hur

Thanks for the replyes. Makes more sense now, thou I still would love to get help with mastery, any suggestion on an 21+ Offensive tree.

One game I had 5000 health (very long game), It felt sick, but I was still the one dying first every time..

The thing is, Im playing most random 5v5 games untill lvl 30 (I am 23 atm). So there is not always an jungler, Going defensive mastery on an 2man lane feels unessesary somehow.

I also dont know wich items to pick to do most damage output. Another Renekton actualy killed me within 2 seconds. It was insane :S
I forgot to check his item setup.

Renekton is all about the early/mid game. You want to aim for the strongest possible early game, where his damage absolutely shines. You do this by taking those 21 points in offense like you said and starting with offensive items, such as Doran's Blade (don't be afraid to get 2 of these early on) and an early The Brutalizer.

For maximum damage output in lane, harass your opponent with your Q whenever you can. When you reach 50 fury, slice and dice through the minions (make sure you only use the first charge of it so it doesn't consume your fury), stun him with Ruthless Predator which with 50+ fury will hit for a ton and finish off with a Q and slice and dice back out. When going for a kill, do exactly the same, except use you can use your ultimate for more damage and fury and instead of slice and dicing back out, use it to chase.

You want to grab Flash and Ignite in order to be really agressive in lane and help you get kills.

As for the masteries, I'd go with something like this.

Renekton does kind of fall of late game, but if you did good early game, you'll still be a force to be reckoned with if you've got a good build. My usual endgame build will look something like Ionian Boots of Lucidity, The Brutalizer, Warmog's Armor, Atma's Impaler, Force of Nature, Sunfire Aegis or Guardian Angel

Going health only isn't as good as a armor/MR + HP mix so consider to add armor and/or MR depend on who you are facing. For 21+ offensive tree, anything AD-related is viable except critical IMO so just see what you like. I personally put points on Sorcery(CDR) and Vampirism(Life Steal, for Q) as well. Item-wise:

1. Atma's Impaler
2. Frozen Mallet
3. Wit's End
4. Brutalizer(I don't upgrade to Yoomuu though but should be viable in some situations)
5. Warmog
6. Bloodthirster(luxury item, get it very late if you are too rich)
7. Sunfire Cape(I don't like this TBH, 35 dmg per second that can be reduced by MR really doesn't have that much impact IMO)
8. Black Cleaver(This one is only an idea that I want to try out since his W has on-hit effect mean you can directly -45 armor on someone from the get go)
9. Randuin's Omen
10. Force of Nature

I mainly go for the metagolem build which would be Frozen Mallet and Atmogs but you can always adapt. Just go for more tanky item first.

I appriciate all replyes.

As I understand this, Renekton is very Good-early game and Mid-game but pretty "useless" engame.
Should play very aggresive early to harras and hopefully get fast kills to gain more early items such as Doran's Blade x2 and The Brutalizer.

So around mid-game I should go for either AR or MR depending on what we face?

Today I tryed out to go for a few AD items, but it didnt go so well, way to squishy to even enter battle. With the ulti Renekton have, it feels like I am the one who should dive into battles and wipe them out, but mostly I just die instanly when diving in.

If your team has a full tank or someone that can initiate better than you then let him dive in first(or you can wait for your opponent to initiate). Also, make sure your teammates are in range when you charge in, you charging in alone is a trip to hell. I usually play aggressively in the early game but that doesn't mean you will automatically win, so be careful(And I play Doran's Shield instead Blade because I love to slowly out-HP my opponent and just kill him when he is low enough). For mid game, you can pick up some AR with Atma's Impaler/ Sunfire Aegis or some MR with Wit's End. Both adds some damage output and also defensive stat.

My general item flow as of now would be Doran's Shield -> Phage -> Brutalizer(sometime I skip this for early FM, which gives me HP advantage a lot of enemies) -> Frozen Mallet -> Atma/Wit's End -> Warmog -> anything I want.

I did very well three matches in a row, following what Khazem suggested. Got plenty of kills, dived in and raped the enemy team when our battle started allready (dived in around 3 seconds after it started), got most assist and most Minion slains.

At endgame I had alot armor and 2x warmong since we lacked a tank. When we all charged together (me first) it also went very well. Enemy dropped fast and tryed to escape, but then I used that armor item wich slows all nearby on use (60 sec cooldown)

Atmogs is a great combo on Renekton.

Your a lower lvl summoner so I'm going to assume a few things here please don't take any offense.

The thing about building atmas + warmogs (atmogs) is you absolutely have to farm well to stay on par with such expensive items.

Also when playing a bruiser style champion like Renekton it's extremely important to get a solo lane. The extra levels pretty much = more hp + more base resistances which is imperative in the earlier teamfights..

Renekton is a beast of a champion, but you cannot just rush into teamfights headfirst everytime. Make sure your team is prepared and in range to back you up if you do have to initiate.

In lane you pretty much do like Khazem said, and you should be unstoppable. I usually start with boots and 3 potions so I can play extremely passive and stay very healthy until level 4 then come out of nowhere is the slice in stun+Q dice out combo for some massive dmg that almost always catches my opponent off guard. However doarans blade start is also very viable.

Work on last hitting minions for maximum farm and your feeling squishy problems will disappear.
