Masteries
Introduction
Welcome to my first guide :D and it's an
Evelynn guide :O what a start. First let me introduce myself, I'm Necynius, play on EU west, and am a pretty new player (been playing for 5 months now). I specialize in jungling, so that's why this Eve guide obviously is a jungling guide.
I know most of you still are pretty prejudiced of Eve, thinking she's still a bad pick and UP, to those, please scroll down and see the screenshots of what can be accomplished by Eve.
Now for some introducing of Eve, she's obviously a very naughty girl (just press ctrl+1 ingame, you'll hear why), and if played right, the enemy team will be like "WTF we've been pwned by a trollpick".
Now lets get serious, Eve is a valid pick ... IF she works in the team composition. Eve doesn't have that much CC, only her ult has a slow effect so you want some CC in your team. As you can probably understand while reading this, Eve on solo queue ... can be viable but I wouldn't do it if it's your first time playing her.
Other than that, in a good team she can pretty much be a devastating jungler, feeding the carries, getting some kills, ...
Pros / Cons
Pro's
- Kinky
- Hits pretty hard
- Good escape ability
- Excellent chaser
- Good jungle speed
- Excellent ganks
Cons
- Squishy
- Gets focussed a lot
- Needs a well oriented team to do well
Eve's kit
Shadow Walk
Pretty good passive, makes ganking easy. Forces enemy team to buy vision wards. Some might even start buying an oracle (which is a waste). Also the mana regen increase makes it possible for you to keep ganking lanes.
Hate Spike
Pretty much your bread and butter skill, spam this, whenever you can, wherever you can. You also NEED this to jungle. So pick at lvl 1.
Dark Frenzy
A good utility skill, especially for chasing/escaping. This is the reason you don't always need
Flash.
Ravage
A mediocre skill, sometimes good to finish the job, but you want to finish this skill last. In jungle the AS boost can sometimes come in handy, but it's no
Warwick/
Nunu buff.
Agony's Embrace
This is an awesome ult to initiate ganks with, or turret dive with. The more enemy champs you hit the larger the HP shield you get. Since Eve is still seen as "OMG focus her she's UP", the shield makes sure the enemy team is wasting time and your allies can get some kills, while you just troll ahead with your W. Because of the recent nerf the damaged decreased a bit, but as a hybrid jungle Eve this shouldn't be a problem.
Summoner Spells
Smite and
Exhaust
Why
Smite?
... You're the epic spike rape jungler, act like it.
Why
Exhaust?
Ensures early kills when ganking, makes up for the lack of cc.
Others?
Flash
This is why:
Ignite
It doesn't give extra CC like
Exhaust, but it's certainly viable.
Runes & Masteries
Runes
- The movement speed Quint helps for early jungling and ganking.
- AP/AD Quints and runes are to boost your early damage and enable successful early ganking.
- Armor runes make sure you don't die in jungle
- Magic Resist is to make your mid/end game a bit easier.
Masteries
I tend to go 21/9/0, I used to go 16/14/0 for extra defense but it's not really needed.
Items
Start
I personally like to start with
On Eve
Core
The most important items in this build are these 3 core items:
Boots of Mobility
Like on
Wriggle's Lantern
Jungle, what more is there to say. Well that and the free ward you can place around Baron/Dragon without ever being seen, unless the enemy team has a vision ward.
Sheen
This will make your damage at the early-mid game, until you build a
Mid-End game
Now depending on how the game goes you should switch around the order for some of these. Usually the order used in this guide will work, but if you feel you're getting focused a bit too much in team fights, get that
Trinity Force
This will make your damage go even higher, and together with
Hextech Gunblade
The spellvamp and lifesteal on this sweet thing will make Eve have quite a bit of sustain. If you get this with
Guardian Angel
Personally I like this on Eve, especially when there's a
Guinsoo's Rageblade
I usually don't get this far in my build, but this will increase your damage even more.
Others
Deathfire Grasp
This is extremely good on Eve, even after it got nerfed it's still very viable.
Rabadon's Deathcap
You can replace
Creeping / Jungling
As said before, jungle guide. So I'll be giving some tips on what route you should take.
Solo Queue
Get your mid to pull blue, kill it. If you get a decent pull you should be able to harass top (try to make enemy top waste a summoner).
After this go wolves, then recall, after that do Red -> wraiths -> golems -> gank.
Team
Since you're in a team this time, you can start at wolves, then do blue. Get the top or bot player(s) to join the kinky Eve jungle fun, and your mid to pull blue. You should be able to kill wolves with the help of your team before blue spawns.
After this its more or less the same, gank top -> recall -> red -> wraiths -> golems -> gank.
Ganking
What a gank should look like?
Now for those of you who are new at jungling, ganking is very timing dependent, watch your team mate's lanes, see how far the enemy team is on the lane. Note that ganking isn't just about suprise backstabbing, taking a kill, it's also relieving pressure on lanes, applying more pressure on lanes and scaring of the enemy team.
An important thing to note while ganking is the priority of the lanes.
Bottom lane has the lowest priority. You shouldn't need to gank this lane a lot, unless your bot has problems, or you feel that a possible kill might go wasted and you're close by.
Mid lane needs some ganks, depending on the situation your mid lane or top lane will be your priority. Mid lane is slightly harder to get kills on, usually you'll need 2 ganks to get a kill here, first you'll damage, forcing a recall and blowing a
Top lane, again depending on the situation, might be your main ganking lane. Usually when the enemy team has no jungler (2 top) you will be here a lot, probably becoming more of a roamer between mid and top then a jungler.
Also for new junglers, don't be afraid to say you're new to it. People will understand if you make mistakes if you tell them you're new at jungling.
Ranked Play
Did some testing in both ranked team (5v5) and solo queue with
Evelynn. This build works at my elo (1170). You have to watch the team composition though, you need at least 2 tank like champions in your team.
Personally I picked her in solo queue when my team picked
Cho'Gath,
Graves,
Blitzcrank,
Gragas. She worked extremely well in this composition.
In ranked 5v5 my team went the following:
Teemo,
Galio,
Taric,
Darius. This also went very well.
These are the 2 best examples I have from ranked in which Eve works. As you can see both team compositions are pretty tanky, with quite a bit of CC thrown in. For ranked you need this to get the full potential out of Eve.
Hall of fame
If you try this guide, do not hesitate to send me the ownage you do with this build, I'll add them on here.

Summary
Well this is my first ever guide, I hope you like it and this gets some people to play Eve. This is a work in progress, so I'll probably do some changes to the build now and then.
As for the youtube vids, they aren't mine so thanks to the guys who made them. Also thanks to Slechtenjungler1, Satakus and fzeromaster for the feedback and excessive trolling.
