Corki is a very unique character, he has a different play-style compared to most, if not all other champions. I see very aggressive UPINYOFACE Corki's, with flat armor penetration items and runes, it is an effective way to play Corki aggressively. This guide gravitates to a more well rounded Corki, maintaining his burst and still kicking *** with Gatling Gun.

NOTE* CORKI TAKES MID OR SOLO LANE DO NOT SETTLE FOR ANY LESS. :D

I am not a fan of runes, apart from Magic Pen and Armor Pen. I find the effect of runes to be minimal to how much it affects my gameplay, although it does give you an early game edge.
The runes I have listed are baseline for a great early game aggressive play.
Armor penetration is baseline and is non disputable.
If you are aggressive, the Attack Speed is a must when it comes to runes. If you don't like the MR per level, simply swap that out with Attack Speed for a nice 14% overall.

For almost any champion with mana I like to play standard 9/0/21.
However, I like Corki's passive damage, offense seems like a pretty good choice. Corki can be played either which, would be fine.

Pros:
-Amazing farmer
-Great ganker
-Great chaser/runner
-Lots of potential/high skillcap
-Ulti is a lot of fun.


Cons:
-Very dependent on team
-Slows and snares kick Corki's ***.

Corki is viable with pretty much every item in the attack damage category. However I find a few of them to be core, others situational.
CORE ITEMS:


Trinity Force for the same reason you'd get Tri Force with any other champion.
Manamune is one of the most underrated item in the game, I personally think it only synergizes with Corki and Blitzcrank, but synergizes very well at that.
I will explain in further detail in the section on farming with Corki.

Situational Items
Even though this is under Item Sequence, it is still sometimes situational, as I don't feel the need for a Banshee's at all. Only for that extra little survivability on top of the passive.
OR Both of them work well against tanks/high armor champions. The items depend on your personal preference, as I would get Black Cleaver when I feel the need for more Attack Speed.
For those HP stackers.
For the extra HP. I really find that you Corki doesn't have enough item slots to fit room for this 20 damage item.

DAS BOOT
Anytime there is heavy cc on the opposing team, I find this is a must. Along with a banshee, nothing worse than getting suprresed by a Warwick followed by a Malzahar.

Most of these are in order of importance.

THE GOOD

Amazing for Corki, whenever I play Corki I feel he doesn't have enough movement speed. Ghost is a very well rounded for chasing & for running. A lot of clutch plays to be made while juking in and out of brushes.
Great ability for anyone, regardless if you already have a spell like Corki's Valkyrie or Ezreal's blink. Flash is great for that last second escape, considering Valkyrie can be used offensively + having a long cooldown. It could be dangerous to fight without flash.
Corki lacks a slow, if you feel you don't need Ghost/Flash, simply take exhaust as an alternative.
Meh.

THE BAD

Works for all the champions, not a fan of the downtime on this ability.
Good for tower dives. However the efficiency of the ability dies towards late game, much like Clarity.

Viable, but useless after manamune. Which is purchased on first or second return to base.
Helps you get out of those annoying CC's.

THE UGLY

Essential for Corki, you have the ability to farm so well. So put it to good use.
This is EZ. Once you hit level six and grab a tear/manamune you start the farm. I average 300+ minion kills in an average game. In moderation to roaming, it's a very simple rotation.

This is pretty much an instant 60+gold per minion wave, just finish whatever your miss with an auto attack. Doesn't matter if the missile is a big one or not.

Harassing
It's a beautiful thing, especially for mid. Lane dominance = a quick GG. Corki out harasses pretty much every possible mid, getting boots as a first item shuts down Caitlynn and Anivia early game. Harass with your whenever it's up, it's not heavy on your mana and is worth the damage.
