Introduction

Hello!, this is L4GS-SP33D, this is my first guide here in mobafire and i would also like to remark that english is not my mother language -like many other summoners- so please forgive me for possible mistakes or confusing frases, i will also be using common gameplay terms and slang. you should know those :)
So, what am i going trying to show you on this guide? a way to play Irelia as a jungler, two ways actually. If u search for a guide on Irelia here, you will find many guides, all of them about the tanky DPS build. Indeed, that is the most enjoyable way to play her, and i don't disagree, but, if u check, you will find that there is no jungle build, and in all of them the users who made the build tell u to go solotop or mid. Well, this is not possible every time, as all of you should know, and playing double lane with Irelia is trying and definitely not rewarding, so answering my question, i will be showing you a way to play that is fun, rewarding and OP ;)

Note: i don't have much time to spare, because i'm on that phase of life where ppl gotta study in live hell to get a decent life in the future .... and well, the Irelia point is, i don't have That much time to spare, 3 hours per day i would say, so i would like to note that i will constantly be upgrading and editing this build, so feel free to come back after some days to heck out what's new. i would also like to receive suggestions about what i should/could do better, or is currently missing in this guide. thank you very much for your attention!

Lore

The Ionians have developed some of the most breathtaking and deadly martial arts on all of Runeterra - just one manifestation of their pursuit of enlightenment. The most remarkable blade style to emerge, however, was the unusual byproduct of foreign intervention. Master Lito was a swordsman whose teachings were sought by ruling classes from nearly every city-state. His art was a highly-guarded secret, but it was said that swords would breathe in his grasp. He withered unexpectedly from a mysterious disease which baffled the brightest of Runeterran physicians. When he died, he left behind Zelos and Irelia, his son and daughter, and a truly unique weapon. Zelos became a sergeant in the Ionian military and left to seek assistance from Demacia immediately prior to Noxus' invasion of Ionia. Irelia, charged with the protection of their home until Zelos returned, was alone when the Noxian forces struck.

The Ionians fought admirably, but soon Ionian blood stained the land beneath the prints of foreign boots. At the Great Stand of the Placidium, Ionians prepared for surrender, but were inspired to maintain their resistance when the young Irelia lifted her father's enormous blade and pledged to hold until her brother returned. In the chaos of the ensuing fight, Irelia was cursed with dark Noxian Necromancy. As her life ebbed, Soraka, the Starchild, made a final attempt to anchor her fading soul. Unwilling to relinquish her home, Irelia rose at the brink of death, and her father's sword lifted in the air alongside her. Irelia rushed back to the fore, unfazed by the blade's sudden animation. The weapon danced around her effortlessly, cutting down Noxians as they gaped in horror. The decimated invaders were forced to retreat from the Placidium. Irelia was appointed Ionia's Captain of the Guard, and when the defense of her homeland moved to the Fields of Justice, so did she.

'The sword flourishes, as though painting with blood.'

Pros/Cons

All the formatting is a hassle, and i'm not good at using mobafire yet, so we'll do it the traditional way.

Pros: awesome ganks; true damage; unbelievable lifesteal; pretty nice ulti; 2 sec stun!;

Cons: Low mobility early levels; higly team dependant; Low farming; people cry a lot about her being OP, and the nerfs not being enough; you may get VERY focused

Abilities

Ionian Fervor: this is your passive, one of the best in the game i must say, it's almost like using Alistar's ulti, or Olaf's one, CC's on you get really useless in team fights.

Bladesurge: awesome gap closer, with an extremely short CD, and with your CD reduc, it's up in almost 5 seconds, nice to farm, and also deals quite the damage at level 5.

Hiten Style: maybe one of the best skills in the game in my opinion, 15 true damage per skill level is just great, and with the bonus healing from it, jungling and lifestealing becomes a lot better.

Equilibrium Strike: This one is trickier, the cooldown is a little longer, and the stun only applies when your health % is lower, care, your eyes decieve you. Use it wisely, a 2 sec stun means the difference between life and death.

Transcendent Blades: Beautiful ulti, in my opinion. the lifesteal it provides is pretty nice, and can save your life. Try practicing aiming, it's harder than you think sometimes.
Great for finishing off fleeing enemies or KSing.

Runes

Yes, i know the runes seem ridiculous, but it works for me, and i'm fine with that.
There isn't much to be explained.....
this runes are basically meant to grant you the damage to jungle quickly and get successful ganks, but in a way you won't fall off late game.

You are free to chose whatever offensive/utility runes you want. They all work perfectly fine.

Items/gameplay

This is were it gets tricky.

Ok, let's start with the off-tank build. you will start off with a Doran's Shield and go off to get blue(obviously, ask for a leash). after that, go get the wolves, and the wraiths and go back to base. there you will buy a philosopher's stone and a pair of level 1 boots as soon as possible. That's when the ganks start. If you play smart, you will be able to pull of nice kills without dying (don't forget to get the red and blue buff whenever possible!). After getting your [Heart of gold] you will want to sell the Doran's shield - yes i know it may seem weird, but trust me, it's only needed for early-game sruvivability, after it becomes pretty useless.
then follow the build. the off-tank build depends highly from the user buying the exact same items, they are dependant from each other. no situational items, except for: Thornmail and Guardian Angel, which you will exchange for Atma's Impaler

Note: there are people around there who go about and say that getting the bonus gold per 10 sec is useless and doesn't pay off. That's not true, it may take 20 minutes to pay off, but it's alright, building it this way, you will keep those 2 items until late game, when they will be used to make up an awesome build. This build does not focus in health, but in health regen, with health regen, and the lifesteal, i managed to match even doctor mundo's health regen.
IT'S TRUE
feel free to add a Warmog's Armor at somwhere if there are a lot of bursts, but remember, you're not a tank, you're an OFF-TANK.

Full life-steal build: this one is a little trickier because your survivability gets really low, and the winning of a fight may depend on the way you time Equilibrium Strike. It may save your *** more than you ever thought possible. So, this one gives the player faster jungling and more effective ganks, but as mentioned before, it makes surviving late-game trickier, and you will win less gold, because of the absence of HoG and Philosopher's, but usually it covers up for it in quantity of kills and farm. This build has various situational items, which include: Madred's Bloodrazor, exchange this one for your Wriggle's Lantern; Black Cleaver, helpful to counter armor characters like Rammus; and Trinity Force, nneding to get some useful movement speed to catch up? this item is very helpful because it grants a little bit of everything, which benefits Irelia a lot.
NEVER! NEVER! skip Zeke's herald this IS your core item, lifesteal, HP and CD reduction. NEVER!

Skill Sequence

pretty obvious, max out Hiten Style first for jungling and ganking success, follow it by Bladesurge to max out burst damage and ganking speed (chase), your Equilibrium Strike is not very useful in this type of gameplay, the stun is nice and the slow too, but it's not very significant, and does not help your jungling capabilities very much. Try it, you'll see, -sure the slow/stun gets longer and burst is affected, but after that, WHAT? you can't chase because Bladesurge is on Cooldown. Really frustating.

Summoner Spells

This is pretty obvious too. there are three main summoner spells:

: a must for jungling, obviusly, take it.

: a nice spell to take out fleeing enemies or denying healing. this is my second choice.

: now, if you feel like there's some speed missing, take this one, an awesome spell for interlaning and chasing, good for fleeing too.

Choose at will :D

Farming/Creeping

Yeah, i know, Irelia SUCKS at farming, if mana is available, hen don't be afraid to ulti large minion waves, but after that just auto-attack + Bladesurge and you should be fine.

When killing monsters, initiate with Bladesurge and follow with Hiten Style. Equilibrium Strike is a waste of mana, but feel free to spam it if blue is on you. when the creep is at low health just Bladesurge him and onto the next one.

Unique Skills

Just a side comment, but what's really fun, is to make use of Bladesurge's passive to get a killing streak. if u time it right and your mouse is good, penta kill is pretty easy.
Bladesurge onto a low health champ, CD will be down, Bladesurge onto the next one, and keep going XD
It is also nice to ulti in the middle of a team fight, massive AoE damage to all enemy champions.

NOTE: AS IVE TOLD YOU, THIS IS MY FIRST CHEAT SHEET EVER, I AM OPEN TO CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AND COMMENTS, RAGERS ARE ALLOWED TOO, BUT I'LL JUST SEND THEM BACK TO THE PLACE THEY WERE BORN FROM IN SOME SHORT FRASES XD. hope you liked it and that my build is helpful to all Irelia players out there.
