Introduction
About Riven a little bit:
Riven is a well known bruiser who can bully a lot of champions early and have a LOT of mobility and escapes (You can use Broken Wings 3 TIMES to jump away, then Valor and stun the enemy with your Ki Burst)
+ with her ultimate Blade of the Exile she is just awesome in teamfights because she have a LOT of AoE damage + Giant steroid to AD. And don't forget about her 2nd part of ultimate: Wind Slash which deals damage which increases with your enemies missing health! It's like Garen's Demacian Justice but better!
She fits current meta more in Top Lane, but what about Jungling? Let's figure it out!
P.S.
I have no experience about making guides so probably some of pictures can be kinda weird looking but hey! It doesn't mean that the guide is bad!
Pros* Have big AD steroid * Easy to farm as * A lot of AoE Damage * Very low ult's CD late game (Only 50 sec!) * 2 stuns and a Shield * Biggest autoattack range with ult on (except for Aatrox) * Hard to counter * Easy to stack Black Cleaver(Q-W combo and already 4 stacks) * No resource used |
Cons* CD dependent. * Pretty low damage until level 6. * Almost no benefit from Sheen (only Spellblade) * If silenced, she is pretty useless * Broken Wings' cooldown starts from LAST jump, not from first * Pretty weak against ranged harassers (such as Olaf) * All the harass is melee (Which is pretty sad) |
Runes
Those are runes that I prefer to take on Jungle Riven. You must be asking yourself: "What's wrong with these runes? Why no scaling MR blues? Why no AS reds? Where are AD Bigs???" Yes, I agree that these are pretty good too but, in my opinion having Armor Penetration Quints is better than AD even thought we're jungling. Why? Because enemies will probably stack armor when they'll see your ADC (especially if it's MF or Corki) and KABOOM! You will deny some of their armor instantly with your Armor Penetration. However, let me say about AD quints. Those are pretty good too especially early game when you have no THAT much AD early. + Jungle Monsters have no armor anyways. But in late game, you'll have your Frozen Mallet, Bloodthirster and Maw of Malmortius and you'll have more AD than enough to kill minions and mosters. About reds: AS is never bad on junglers (except for the Fiddlesticks) but as I said before those are only good early game, but bad late game. Same I can say about Scaling MR blues. You can take 'em if enemy mid lane is AD (such as Talon or Zed (why ppl don't ban him in ranked :/)) but, if they don't you'd better have flat MR blues. About yellows... IDK what's wrong with them. Jungle monsters deal only physical damage and armor from masteries won't be enough. So, yeah... If you care more about Late Game buy runes I take (except for blues, buy scaling MR). If more about Early-Core change AD reds for AS reds and AD runes.
Ok if you kinda TL;DR users then:
More like Early-Core Game:
Runes
More like Core-Late Game:
Runes
If you like my runes then buy them!
Those are ONLY options for jungle Riven. Because summaried Q damage is like twice more tham W damage. Ofc you can max E second to have bigger shield early. But i prefer maxing it last OR alternatively level it until lvl 3 and then leave it there until the end.
So... yeah.
Let's talk about route: Red Buff - Wraiths - Wolves - Blue Buff - Gank OR B.
Gank route:With your Red Buff and 2 stuns (Q + W) you can easily gank top or mid. Probably it will end up with a 1st Blood. If after that you're low on hp: Back and buy EITHER Spirit Stone or Madred's Razors. If not low on HP and it ENDED with a 1st Blood on your team's side: Clear wraiths and wolves once again and B. Then buy EITHER Spirit Stone or Madred's Razors and Boots (Ctrl + C & Ctrl + V is awesome!) If it didn't ended with a 1st blood on your side and you're no low on hp: Try to gank mid. And then... Ahhh you know what to do! |
Recalled:Buy EITHER Spirit Stone or Madred's Razors and gank top or mid. |
What Summoner Spells do I RECCOMMEND
Flash - This is good summoner spell overall! You'd better to take it instead of Exhaust if your Team have a LOT of CC to secure kills in early ganks (at least 1 extra stun or slow) Also remove point from Summoner's Wrath and put it in Sorcery.
Ghost - Allows to catch up with enemies to secure kills and stuff... Same story as with Flash (except for Summoner's Wrath mastery)
Ignite - Take it instead of Exhaust if enemies have champions like Volibear or Swain (pissing off healings).
Smite - This is obvious...
What Summoner Spells I DON'T reccommend
Teleport - Usually used by top laners and NEVER used by junglers. However still can be used to split push or surprise gank with wards on bot.
Barrier - It's a good summoner spell, but... not used as a jungler because Flash or Exhaust are better.
Heal - Can be used to secure kills under enemy turrets. But cooldown is too big. And heal isn't that big.
What Summoner Spells I NEVER EVER TAKE
Revive - Absolutely useless. Currently counted as troll spell.
Clarity - Riven don't use mana!
Cleanse - Can't say anything about it. Only ADC need it because of a lot of disables and no bonus Tenacity. We have mastery (and Mercury's Treads if you chose them)
Clairvoyance - Also counted as troll spell. And it is absolutely useless if you're not a support.
