I just started to main ryze a bit and im having a good time with him. Im currently only gold 2 and its a hard curv learning him since it is hard to understand his carry potential. I will be updating this guide all the time when I find more good options with him and get more experience with him He is a really good but hard champ to master even tho they kind of made him easier now, but by the cost of his shield on Q making him more squizy to some enemies.

When you play as Ryze you always gotta focus on what your role in the game is. You are always a mage with easy aoe dmg in teamfights who can nuke adc's and have good stable dps. Depending on how you are building Ryze in your game you are albe to do different things that your team maybe need.

If you go all in on ap items and make sure you do really heavy dps you will be more easy to kill. Playing in the mage role also makes you needed to be good at taking down the enemies backlines and make constant dps. You will need to focus more on position doing the game and when and when not to engage in a fight.

Playing the tank style is a much more easy build for new ryze players imo since you get a lot more sustain and are able to fight longer and more up front with your team. You are also able to go in and take a lot of hits Which can lead to more dmg from teammates. The tank role also give you a chance for trying out a totally different playstyle. Not many mage tanks have the amount of dmg that ryze is able to do late, plus having the same mobility for his team with his ultimate.

Pros:
- Strong dmg
- Fast mobility in fights
- Lots of aoe since he's E got easier to use
- Can work good with a lot of combs and ulti can be game changing

Cons:
- Hard to master
- Laning phase can be annoying since he got low dmg early
- Can be squishy depending on build
