Introduction

Hello and welcome to my first guide here on Mobafire:LEASE READ THE NOTES BESIDE THE BUILD TITLES! This is not meant to be a "Just copy his info and go 30/0/5" guide. To play the game competitively and make yourself a better player, you need to be able to realize that the same build isn't going to work EVERY game, and if you understand how to weigh the benefits vs the cost of a certain item or even just the order you build them, you become a MUCH scarier opponent. The idea is to get you to think and decide for yourself which item will be best right now, in these circumstances. As the saying goes, I've led the horse to water but I can't make him drink. I WILL explain my reasoning behind certain items, however, and you just might learn something you didn't know about an item or mechanic that you can use to help decide later. So, without further adieu, let's meet Vi!

Skills

BLAST SHIELD
Innate: When Vi's activated abilities damage an enemy, she gains a shield equal to 10% of her maximum health for 3 seconds. Blast shield has a 18 / 13 / 8 second cooldown.

This is your passive, a shield that activates when any enemy takes damage, INCLUDING CREEPS. It seems like a negligible amount and a short duration, but with a surprisingly short cooldown you'll find you can activate it rather often during fights and soak a few extra hits. Alternatively, if you find yourself disengaging with a sliver of life, and that jerk pops Ignite, if you can quickly turn and pop a spell to damage a nearby creep or jungle camp, you might just be able to save your life with it. Don't underestimate the strength of this passive.

Vault Breaker
First Cast: Slows your movement speed by 15% while increasing damage and dash range over 1.25 seconds.

Second Cast: Vi dashes forward, dealing physical damage and applying Denting Blows to all enemies hit. Vi stops upon colliding with an enemy champion, knocking it back. Vault Breaker deals 75% damage to minions and monsters./color]

Range: 50 - 600
Cooldown: 18 / 15.5 / 13 / 10.5 / 8
Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mana
Minimum Physical Damage: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+70% bonus AD)
Maximum Physical Damage: 100 / 160 / 220 / 280 / 340 (+140% bonus AD)

Your gap closing, wall hopping, carry chasing, tons of damage, all around awesome skill. This will in fact separate the good VI's from the bad Vi's. This ability deals more damage the longer you charge it to a cap. On her release, this skill as a .7-1.4 AD ratio. This skill will line up minions for your E. This is a skill shot similar to varus's q. Only your shooting yourself not an arrow. This skill does go through minions and will stop at a champion. Other than the above uses, this skill can be used as a knock-aside that lets your teammates catch up and chain their cc. It can be also used to hop over baron and dragon pits to escape/gank lanes/steal buffs. A nice trick to gank your own lane is fake B-ing under your tower, step back into the fog of war, then going through baron buff. Pop a potion and then wait for cooldowns in the side brush. Once they reach your tower or start to retreat initiate with Q, Exaust, AA, E, AA, W, E, and finally ult/ghost if necessary to finish them off. Nothing is more satisfying.
Max this skill second.

Denting Blows
Passive: Every 3rd attack on the same target deals additional physical damage equal to a percentage of the target's maximum health, reduces its armor by 20% and grants Vi bonus attack speed for 4 seconds. Denting Blows deals a maximum of 300 damage against minions and monsters.

Bonus Physical Damage: 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10% of target's max health (+1% per 35 bonus AD)
Attack Speed Bonus: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50%

This skill adds to your burst, grants attack speed, and chops down there armor by a sexy 20%. This skill is easier to proc than you think. It is proc'd by your Q,E and Auto Attacks. You are not an Auto Attack champion so do NOT go out of your way to build attack speed. You can proc this through 's attack timer reset. This can also be done on a large group of minions/monsters by using through them, turning around and lining up two swift 's to detonate W and give you a nice chunk of CS.

Excessive Force
Active: Causes Vi's next basic attack to deal bonus physical damage to the target and enemies behind it. Vi periodically charges a new punch and can hold up to 2 charges at once.

Range: 600
Cooldown: 1
Cost: 60 mana + 1 charge
Total Physical Damage: 5 / 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 (+115% AD) (+70% AP)
Charge Reload Time: 14 / 12.5 / 11 / 9.5 / 8 seconds

Your main damaging ability and the one you'll be maxing out. This is a great ability for 1v1 fights, easy farming, pushing and harass. Use it to simply harass your opponent in lane by hitting minions that are in front of him. The damage is the same to every target which is nice and the range on the ability is actually longer than you might expect.

Assault and Battery
Active: Vi targets an enemy champion and chases it down, knocking it up for 1.25 seconds, dealing physical damage. While charging, Vi is immune to crowd control and will knock aside enemies in her way, dealing 75% damage to them.

Range: 700
Cooldown: 130 / 105 / 80
Cost: 100 / 125 / 150 mana
Physical Damage: 200 / 325 / 450 (+140% bonus AD)
Physical Damage to Secondary Targets: 150 / 262.5 / 375 (+105% bonus AD)

Holy **** this Ultimate is awesome. It's kinda like a Warwick Ultimate (I guess). The range on it is pretty big and it can catch people off guard quite easily. It can be used both to initiate and as a finisher depending on the situation. However keep in mind that when you target someone with it you start going to their location and end up behind them so if your target is near the whole enemy team you might wanna think before using it. Other than that this ultimate is a great initiation tool and a great finisher for 1v1's. Oh and this ability actually deals damage to everyone you pass through while going to your target but it's not as big as the damage dealt to the target.

Items

STARTING ITEMS

Starting off I take the traditional Boots of Speed and 3 Health Potions. This will help her out with the sustain problems on the first phase, but try to save them if you want to last longer in your lane.
EARLY GAME

On my first call I try to rush for 1 or 2 . I recommend this since you’ll benefit from the life 6% life steal, grating a little sustain on the laning phase. I also recommend getting if your opponent is a natural harasser, and this thing will refill each time you recall, until you get if you decide to craft one.
After this, I usually get or since they are your core items and you can turn Phage in either or depending on the role you want to play. You can also take Sheen if you’re building AD.
After getting either of those, I highly recommend to upgrade your boots. 90% of the time I get Mercury’s Treads. Vi often has no problem on being focused by CC effects while casting her ultimate, but if an enemy like Ashe decides to use her ultimate on you, this ones will work. However if the enemy’s team APC is not fed or if they don’t have one or much Crowd Control effects, you can choose between Ninja Tabi or maybe Boots of Swiftness, but you might consider getting a Zephyr to compensate your tenacity.
MID GAME
blade of the ruined Iceborn Gauntlets
This will be all matter of choices.
If you’re using the AD Item’s, I recommend you to get Sheen and quickly upgrade it into a Trinity Force.
Why Sheen? I like the damage output you get from the extra damage when auto attacking and casting your abilities. Many people will immediately think about Excessive Force stacking on Sheen. You have to know, you won’t double the damage from the spell, and you’ll just do the extra damage equal to your base attack damage. This extra damage will just be applied to the target you hit, meaning that when you use Excessive Force, enemies behind your target will suffer a normal damage.
Either way, if you’re not crafting Trinity Force, upgrade your Phage on a Frozen Mallet for the Tanky Build or The Brutalizer onto The Black Cleaver depending on your needs.

If you went for the AD build, I recommend you taking an Vampiric Scepter. Something you have to be aware of is that with The Black Cleaver you can achieve penetrating the maximum amount of armor (50%) combined with Denting Blows and Weapon Expertise . By 4 hits, your target will have 45% reduced armor, and both you and your team can take advantage of this.
LATE GAME
RANDUIN'S OMEN MAW of MAWMORIUS
For the AD, when you already have Trinity Force, The Black Cleaver, Vampiric Scepter and obviously your boots, get The Bloodthirster.
For your final items, you have many options; this will be completely up to you.
For the fourth item, you can take “Ravenous Hydra” which will give you incredible sustain and more AOE damage. However, this one’s very expensive.
You can also take Lord Van Damm’s Pillager (still not available), which will give you more CDR and Flat Armor Penetration, along with some spell vamp and health. Remember that FAP (lol) has no limits, and you can take advantage if the enemy team has a heavy armored tank.
Kitae’s BloodRazor is a new item, not in game yet. I find it attractive since it also makes you deal some magic damage based on the opponent’s maximum health, has some noticeable attack damage and attack speed. Every of these features will totally rock along with your Denting Blows.
Blade of the Ruined King it’s another interesting option. I’ve seen some people call this item a junior The Bloodthirster. However, it has an interesting active effect, and its passive will deal 4% of the target’s current health, and will heal you by 2% of it.
And finally, get an Guardian Angel to complete your build. You can also take this one before The Bloodthirster depending on your needs.

Summoner's Spells

Ignite will help you get those laning phase kills from an escaping opponent, more than which will be more useful if the opponent decides to fight (or escape at turbo velocity), and I think you all know how to use , just press the key, and use and laugh and laugh as they keep chasing you (If they do).

Farming

It's extremely easy to farm with
As always, at the start of the game, focus on last hitting minions, and if you can, harass with Excessive.
You can also face the most-front minion from the wave and use 2 Excessive, or, as seen in the champion spotlight, charge
