We'll make it sticky for some time for ppl to read out the new issue and prevent the incoming topic spam "i cannot vote".
I realy hope this will work. So now it lays on you veterans to recomend a fresh and new guide that is good enaugh untill the 4 day mark.

I don't see why you don't just restrict guides from being written/published for that champion for the first 4 days.
Give those troll guides a big "There's no way you know anything about him" slap in the face.

Because people come to a site like MOBAFire for guides, and if there aren't any guides at all, they'll think "Well this site is useless". We are a guide storing database, and we shouldn't restrict content from being released because of a scoring system.

Great idea, I wondered and now I've found out.
This is such a great help due to the main fact I update mine all the time and it would be cruel for it to be destroyed after the first few hours of editing.
I know it's an old thread, I'm just showing my appreciation. Sorry for the gravedig.

This is a feature that we are testing out that does not allow votes on any guide within the first 4 days after that champion has been released. Wait until the 4 days is up, and then go back and try voting again.
The reason for this feature is that a number of guides get posted before anyone has really had a chance to practice and study the new champion, and then some of those get a big lead on score just by being out early. The idea is that waiting a few days before allowing votes gives everyone a chance to practice and learn the champion, to produce much better guides. After the vote ban is lifted, the votes will flood in and the guides that truly deserve it will climb to the top.
This feature is currently in testing and we may revoke it at any time. We're always open to feedback, if anyone has anything to say about the feature let us know!
2016-03-28 Edit: Guides for new champions can now be created as soon as the champion is added to the MOBAFire database. Once the champion is released, guides for that champion will have voting enabled. If you're getting the error that it's too soon to vote, that means the champion hasn't been released on the Live servers yet.
