Galio is known for his horrendous mana problems, the sooner you fix that the better.
First, get Chalice of Harmony, because you will need the mana everytime. Now, if you need armor in lane, get a Chain Vest, otherwise skip it and get Ionian Boots of Lucidity - Distortion. This combined with the mastery makes the spell that makes Galio playable way more often usable. Now I go for Rod of Ages, this combined with Chalice of Harmony fixes the mana problems completly. After that I upgrade to Athene's Unholy Grail. Next step is Spirit Visage, a definitive core item on Galio. Then, if you need armor, get yourself Thornmail. The finaly item I would choose is Rabadon's Deathcap, but if the enemy team has high resistances, Void Staff can be strong as well. Don't forget the high amount of ap on Rabadon's Deathcap increases your defense also by a high amount.

Dunno what the **** you're on, friend, but Galio's passive only converts MR to AP and the resistances on his shield don't scale with anything, AKA deathcap doesn't do jack for his "defense".

I was debating mentioning that, but this isn't a support guide and AP ratios are important. Abyssal Mask may potentially be a good purchase for the utility over the raw AP.
Basically MOBAFire.
It matters because each heal is 20% less effective than the last for each subsequent instance of damage (aka it stacks), meaning you reach a point where it does next to nothing very quickly.
Still, a heal is a form of survivability? And the maximum heal is 425 (+ 150% AP), with Spirit Visage 510 (+ 180% AP), with
Runic Armor
544 (+ 192% AP).

You need to log in before commenting.
- Thornmail (actually a good pick and has synergy with Idol of Durand);
- Zhonya's Hourglass ( Seeker's Armguard is good when facing AD laner);
- Frozen Heart (seems good, but it reduces AS, thus reducing Idol of Durand's damage);
- Randuin's Omen (same as heart);
- Sterak's Gage (not sure about this one, AD is absolutely wasted, but the passive is not);
- Warmog's Armor (should Galio EVER build this? He's a tank after all...);
(not tested, need opinions):
- Rod of Ages;
- Turbo Chemtank
Imagine that the enemy team has an AP top laner and you're stuck mid against an AD champion. You can't take advantage off of Runic Skin, you NEED to get armour, or you'll get bursted to death. What items would you go for? I need to gather opinions, so if you'd be kind enough to reply with your thoughts, I'd appreciate it ^^
