Season 2 underway

Hello again everyone,

Well season 2 started off this week and to be honest I am pumped about this. New mastieries, new summoner spells, new ladders, TEAMS!!!!!!! and of course the new spectator mode that was released not too long ago. I'm really looking foward to Christmas Break where I can have some time to really play a bunch and get back into the full swing of things. Not much to truly coment on yet (though the preview of Volibear looks like another EPIC champion design by Riot).

So hey let me know what you guys think about this new season, is this what LOL needs, is riot going the right way?, Are you guys as excited about this as me? Leave some feedback on what you guys think about the look of things here at the start of season 2.

Reviews R'us: Revamped

Thanks to Jhoi for the EPIC wallpaper! +rep her if you can! :D

Read this before you post a guide!

And make sure to read this too! :D

In this thread i'm only aiming to give guides some publicity. Around 600 guides PER DAY are posted on Mobafire and not very many ever make it anywhere. Most of them don't even have any comments on them. I hope that by reviewing threads I can give some of those guides some publicity and open peoples eyes to them.

In order to have your guide reviewed by me, use this format:

After you do that, i'll give you my review in this format on your own guide's comments:

They See Me Swainin...

Oh Swain. Sweet, sweet Swain.

I had spent quite some time playing as Shaco, The Demon Jester when I first picked up League of Legends. I hit level 10, decided to buy a few more toons, and got hooked on Talon. Then I found Swain.

Swain's the type of champion that you don't mess with. If he's ahead of you in the lane, you stay on guard hoping that the player is a noob. If they aren't, watch out, you might be the next enemy to get Swained.

I love Swain.

I don't play him in 3v3 Twisted Treeline very much, but he seems to fit my play-style perfectly in 5v5 regular. He pokes and aggravates just as much as Teemo, but with more swagger and style. With 2 slows/stuns, he can be quite the legend killer.

Bah, just wanted to rant on. Try him out, you'll love him.

Ranked Cass game :(

Bad game overall with a lot of unfortunate events. Olaf gave the other team first blood then ganked top and DCed. Cho Gath blamed Olaf for the loss and proceeded to go AFK. They got into our base because we had only 3 people active. I was 4/0 until they got into our base. SOSAD. I'm still trying to decide if i should go again.

How to Pimp Out a Champion

Evening all ^^ So here I am again, writing another "How To" for my How To blog series. This one is for those of you who aren't too sure on how to create a specialised build for a champion when you don't have the time to read a guide on MobaFire.

There are a few easy steps that I assume everyone makes when pimping out their champion, and I'll outline them here. Hopefully they'll help you out ^^

Step One: Go to the masteries tab and create five mastery pages. One for a caster, one for a jungler, one for a tank, one for a support and one for a DPS carry. Masteries are debatable, but my pages are:

Caster: 22/3/5 (please view my Morgana guide for details)
Jungler: 10/10/10 (please view my Warwick guide for details)
Tank/Solo Top: 9/21/0 (please view my Nasus guide for details)
Support: 0/9/21 (please view my Soraka guide for details)
DPS Carry: 21/8/1 (please view my Vayne guide for details)

My voting and recommendation criteria

I just thought I'd post my criteria on what is a good guide/build, what I like and especially what I hate.

In a general sense I recommend based on these criteria;

Summoner Spells, Runes, Skill Sequence, CORE ITEM BUILD, Masteries and how well written and presented a guide is.

Pretty simple? Yes. Easy to get a recommendation? Wrong.

Wrong because I am extremely stubborn about my opinions (my opinions are right). Generally what ticks me off is if I tell someone what I think is better and they completely ignore my points and say theirs is still better.

Disclaimer: I will never upvote a guide with a snowball item in it. I will never upvote a guide if the guide author is rude. I will never upvote a guide if I believe the author is noob. Lastly I will never upvote a guide if I wouldn't actually use it in-game.

Might edit this later with more writing I'm a bit tired and got work in the morning so good night!

Writer's corner

It is the 41st millennium, and the Imperium of Man has expanded their grasp of the stars beyond the Milky Way galaxy. Their empire is vast, but under constant siege of xenon scum. The Imperium has created the Space Marines. Super human soldiers created to defend the Imperium and her territories. These Space Marines are the best of the best; no other creature known to man can defeat one easily. To be recruited into such a prestigious group of warriors is not by will or skill. Rather one is chosen by them at an unexpected time, and then taken away. While these methods may seem cruel, unethical, in a time where there is war on all fronts of the galaxy for the Imperium to survive it has become a necessary evil. To be chosen is considered to be honors to those who survive develop a bond so strong with their chapter brothers any evil would not dare to hope to break it.

The chosen few who survive the tests and battles will join their chapter with honor. The history and code that the chapter …

Next Champ: Karma?

I recently played with a friend of mine who likes Karma . Now, like most LoL players I have been raised to believe that Karma is useless. I started playing LoL around the time she came out. So when he locked in as her I thought he was trolling. Apparently I have been brainwashed, because he stomped, and he continued to stomp for about 4 games. I'm thinking of buying her as my next support. I play a little bit of support occasionally as Heimerdinger, but never to the extent of an actual classified support. I've been meaning to do this for a while so it seems like a good idea to me :P

Tonight: The Fight Begins

"The gates open and he appears..."

The greatest warrior from The North. The one who has defeated uncountable soldiers, another soul-taker, Mordekaiser. That man was a monster, many people couldn't believe that there was a man under that huge gray armor and carrying such a heavy spiky mace. It was a fair battle, Nasus knew his enemy could use magic too.

A week ago, that armored man came to the Pyramid Palace and challenged the Pharaoh. The latter accepted and announced that the battle will be on the next slaughter day. Mordekaiser waited patiently until that night.

Both were just staring at each other, ready to strike, examinating the opponent, waiting for the first movement. The wind was blowing gently, a real silence, there were tons of people watching that match, but not a single word was said.
Mordekaiser charges at Nasus, but Wither hit the former and he was slowed. Here he comes, thought the warrior, activating his aura called Creeping Death. That didn't worry the Pharaoh, th…
