About me


Hello :) my name is Liam, i am a current Platinum jungle main. I have been playing since the start of season 2 but only in the last year taken to playing ranked play. My favourite types of champion are assassin/fighter's (Rengar, Shaco, Vi ect.) as well as unconventional junglers ( Twisted Fate, Cho'Gath, Shen). I managed to get from bronze 4 after my provisional games to gold 3 in just a few weeks and after a bad spell (not feeling up to league/bored of league) i decided to stop playing for a while. However the new updates to summoners rift and all the new champions coming out have drawn me back in and I'm having so much fun. I've decided to make some guides to champions that i have lots of experience with and hope to share my knowledge with the community of mobafire. Sorry for the TLDR but i hope you enjoy my guide, a rating would also be greatly appreciated and I'm open to any suggestions/criticisms that you guys have! see you on the rift!

Introduction

Ekko is a strong duelist jungler with many similarities to Diana. His main strengths are his 1v1 potential with insane burst damage and strong CC kit.
He has a jump-teleport ability which gives him great mobility when moving around in the jungle and ganking lanes, which when combined with the CC in his kit almost certainly leads to a kill.

This guide has 3 main builds - AP Assassin, AD Bruiser and Tank. I feel that the tank build is the strongest of the 3 as you will be able to stay alive in teamfights while still being able to burst people down.

I feel that he is a very viable jungler as his damage against low hp monsters gives him a fast clear time and the shield/stun ability lets him sustain well against camps/objectives.

Greater Mark of Attack Speed x9 - Gives you a faster proc on Z-Drive Resonance meaning a faster clear/better 1v1

Greater Seal of scaling health] x9 - These are best for [[Ekko as it helps with his late game scaling. (Can be swapped out for Greater Seal of Scaling Armor but is not recommended.)

Greater Glyph of cooldown x9 - 7.5% cooldown reduction is great on Ekko as it allows you to spam his abilites more frequently.

Greater Quintessence of Armor x3 - gives more early game armor than armor seals and lets you have a great scaling presence for the late game while maintaining a strong early game.

Greater Glyph of Ability Power x9 - Gives you insane damage as Ekko scales ridiculously well with AP.

Greater Quintessence of Ability Power x3 - Once again gives you tons of damage.

Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction x6 - Ekko's main source of damage is from his abilities and when building AD it is good to be able to spam them while basic attacking.

Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist x3 - 3 scaling MR glyphs will help with late game defensive items.

Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed x3 - Increases jungle clears and 1v1 fights when building AD.

Ability Sequence

No matter what build you go for the ability sequence will remain the same.

Starting with Parallel Convergence allows you to clear the first camp and take minimal damage as it will stun them for 2.25 seconds.

Max Timewinder as it is your main source of CC and damage and is on a low cooldown and the slow scales from 32 / 39 / 46 / 53 / 60%.

Max Phase Dive second as the bonus damage when attacking a target after teleporting to them is insane.

Max your ult ASAP and then max Parallel Convergence last. I feel that it is more of a zoning ability for teamfights and isnt really useful to max early on.

Farming


The map above shows you the numbered order in which to do your camps on both blue side and purple side, the route is the exact same no matter what side you start on.

1. Krug camp - I always start the krug camp as when you Smite it you get the heavy hands buff which means that every 5 basic attacks you will stun your target. If you are not confident with jungling this way on purple side then you should start gromp-blue-wolves-red-krugs-chickens

2. Red buff - Red buff gives you passive healing when in combat with monsters which helps a lot with your sustain when clearing camps.

3. Blue buff - blue buff gives you the extra mana sustain that helps a lot with jungle clears.

4. Murk Wolves - If you smite the blue buff then its a good idea to do wolves as you can heal up and get some mana back before you head to the next camp.

5. Gromp - Smite the gromp to get the poison buff that it gives, it will help a lot with jungle clears.

6. Raptors - Finish off your clear by clearing the raptor camp, after you have cleared the raptors head to base for your first purchases.

The new jungle has many benefits from the buff's that the new jungle camps give, which you can use to your advantage. For example if i wanted to scout a lane and i didn't know if it was warded, i would smite the raptor camp to give me the true vision buff to clear any wards on/near that lane. Or say there was a team fight about to occur, i would smite the Gromp camp to get the poison buff that it gives which would aid me when taking damage from basic attacks in teamfights. Be sure to plan your jungle route in consideration with what you want to do next.

Ganking

Ekko is a really strong ganker as his kit has plenty of cc and a gap closer, its always best to ping that you are coming in for the gank so that your teammates can engage first and get ready for you to come in and help them secure a kill/kills.

It is best to gank from the river and use your Parallel Convergence behind the target that you are ganking (so that they cant run back to tower without getting stunned/slowed) then use Phase Dive to initiate onto a target, and finally follow up with your Timewinder to slow the target/deliver tons of damage - When you Phase Dive onto the target make sure that you auto attack them constantly to proc your Z-Drive Resonance and deliver the "mad deeps"
