First off i love playing annie and chances are you do too since your on this guide this is going to be my first MOBAfire guide and on my favorite mid lane nuker: Annie now this guide is going to be a straight devastating nuker annie with a little bit of survivability thrown in to survive fights
For runes on annie i would take 9 tier 3: Greater Mark of Magic Penetration, Greater Seal of Ability Power, and Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power. this means incredible early game damage and will let you win alot of your battles. now for quintesences i will take 3 Greater Quintessence of Magic Penetration just for icing on the nuke-cake we will be baking with this guide
i take a standard caster/nuker mastery page taking points in offense on all the ability power and magic damage masteries and points summoners wrath, and summoners insight because the bonus effects that are added to flash and ignite go well with my build. while i also take points in utility for extra late-game mana and a bit more mana-regen early on to help with spammability
So ive looked and learned from the comments and decided to come back to my guide an revamp my item builds into something more practical. most of the build is the same though. ok so first i recommend starting with your Doran's Ring then proceeding into your Sorcerer's Shoes then into an early Catalyst the Protector. and finishing that into your Rod of Ages. Next becase your annie its a must have to get a Rabadon's Deathcap . then a Archangel's Staff . because it gives a TON of ability power from its passive and gives you alot more mana to kill people with. And since your a high priority target they will often try to focus you so a Zhonya's Hourglass which gives you a few precious seconds of invincability making them waste teamfight-winning spells on you. now this is really late into the game so you the last item i really recommend you build according who your playing against for instance if they have alot of attack damage or an ad champ is fed on their team i would reccomend a Thornmail or a Rylai's Crystal Scepter . but if they have alot of ability power-based champs you would want to look into a Force of Nature but the best item for this would be Banshee's Veil because it gves you a free spell shield and some decent MR
Ok i decided to update this as well so for your first skill you should get Disintegrate then alternate between that and Incinerate with a point in Molten Shield early on to help build up your passive stacks like so:
so for my summoner spells i like to get the classic Flash/Ignite combo so that i can flash in use all my skills comboing with my passive stun and ignite them and once ive done all of this they are either already dead or are maybe 50 health away from it so all i really have to do is maybe hit one autoattack and its done.
Flash: Pros: good for escaping and starting fights just overall my favorite summoner spell
Cons: it has a really long cooldown, you can sometimes screw yourself over by misusing it or not paying attention
Ignite: Pros: good for taking out that last bit of hp and also good for champs like swain and mundo to the point where it shuts down theyre sustain
Cons: A bit of a cooldown, takes up a spot that you could use a more defensive spell for like Summoner Heal or Clease which are also good spells to use
so with your q spell Disintegrate you can freely spam it whe you last hit a minions because if you get a killing blow you get the mana you spent back making you able to stay in lane almost forever if you dont get hit too hard this spell allowes you outfarm almost anyone and once you hit level 2 you can get Incinerate and use these spells in a combo in accord with you passive Pyromania and you can get in alot of poking damage and even send them back to base letting you push and farm even more
so by mid game you should have your ultimate and be doing pretty well with csing and now that you have tibbers you are ready to start killing now make sure that you have enough mana to land the entire combo of SUMMON:TIBBERS Incinerate and Disintegrate in that order along with Pyromania all of this combined with ignite should very well be enough to get you the kill easy dont be afraid to flash in if they are staying out of range too 99% of the time it will pay off and by doing this you can really speed up your item buying all you really got to do it just try to repeat this until you are sufficiently fed
now in late game your team should be doing dragon every 6 minutes and chances are your team has probly been in a teamfight now pay attention because this part is crucial as annie: you have the power alone to dictate how a teamfight plays out the same way amumu and kennen do before you engage make sure to have your stun ready and have enough mana to use all your skills and make sure to either use tibbers and incinerate on the team with these 2 spells you can stun all of them and turn the tides in your favor. the next best thing i can teach you about annie is that you are not the tank your not supposed to be on the front lines its just best if you stay back and kill from afar while avoiding being focused at all times as long as you do as this guide has told you will have no problems carrying and winning the game for your team
if you have a jungler that doesent use mana like mundo,shen,lee sin, and tryndamere make sure to ask them for the blue buff early on it can make a huge difference and will let you spam without any downside
if you are having trouble staying alive in teamfights here are a few items that are good and will help keep you healthy
Zhonya's Hourglass this item is great against a team that has alof of AD and its passive its wonderful and it gives the second most amout of ap in the game
Abyssal Scepter if they have a team with alot of magic damage and magic resist this item will help you out tremendously it gives MR and reduces theyres its also good to have in teamfights because its an aura
Haunting Guise this is another item i like to get on alot of casters it gives a good amount of ap,health and it also give you magic pen which is always a +
Guardian Angel this will give you alot of resistances and will even bring you back from the dead a great defense/tanky item
Rylai's Crystal Scepter this item is also a great replacement instead of a 2nd deathcap this is just as good in my book it gives you alot of hp, ap and a passive slow that activates when you deal magic damage
Banshee's Veil Hands down one of the best defensive items in the game it gives you a ton of hp, mana and a spell shield to help with countering cc and things like [Rocket Grab}
Im going to end this list here because its starting to get pretty long but there are alot more defense items feel free to try them out and see how you like them
Pros / Cons
Annie Pros: great nuker, good in teamfights, still poses a threat entire game even if underfed,relativly short cooldowns,amazing passive.
Annie Cons: can be a bit squishy, useless if focused in teamfights early, not really and skills good for escaping ganks, may not be everyones dream mid laner.
