Introduction

Welcome to my Garen Mid guide.

Pros / Cons

Spells

	Flash is an extremely important summoner spell on Garen. It can help him gap close, get out of sticky situations and surprise the enemy. I never change flash for anything else.

	Ignite is the best second spell on Garen. It will prevent the enemy escaping with a sliver of health after your ultimate. It can help prevent healing champions or champions with lots of lifesteal in their kit to get away.

	Ghost can be taken instead of Ignite if you didn't take Predator as your keystone, and you still need the mobility.

	Cleanse is extremely situational on Garen. Garen's W Courage gives him enough tenacity to reduce lots of crowd control affects. However, there are some crowd control effects you need cleanse for, such as Veigar's Event Horizonand Zoe's Sleepy Trouble Bubble. How ever, if you feel the need later in the game, you can always buy Quicksilver Sash

	Teleport is something I rarely ever use on Garen. I think his Teleport ganks are not good enough to sacrifice a combat summoner spell.

	Exhaust too is extremely situational on Garen. It's highly match-up dependent, and may be used while facing someone like a Zed, however in such match-ups too I like taking Ignite, your mileage may vary.

	I never take Heal on Garen. I don't find it any useful when compared to Ignite or Exhaust.

	I never take Barrier on Garen. I don't find it any useful when compared to Ignite or Exhaust.

	Smite is essential while in the jungle. DO NOT take it while playing Garen mid.
