Introduction

I've seen quite a lot of builds and suggestions for playing Eve is Season V but I've found that there isn't a single item set, or build suggestion, that's good enough. Eve's extremely squishy early game, and is tricky to master. Her combination of melee, but ranged abilities, can make it a bit difficult to deal enough damage and not die at the same time so I have made this guide to help aid Eve players through Season V.

So I'm not here to convince you to play Eve - chances are you're only reading this guide to get some idea of what else you can build with her and the things you can do (which is bountiful, since she is an AP and/or AD built champion).

I'll probably be updating the appearance of this guide over time. I mainly just wanted to get the information out there first. It's not complete as I haven't explained and gone into detail about everything yet (especially items, and some areas need more in-depth detail - I will explain how to jungle with this Eve build as well, in due course) but I hope it helps for now.

Cons

Conclusion

It genuinely sucks that her was nerfed because this is essential for basic jungling and as I may have mentioned, and will continue to mention, is like a second basic-attack for Eve (although it does cost less mana so you can use it... more...? - but the cooldown in the same, so not really). Luckily Riot have made up for it by increasing the ratio at which her AP and AD damage increases per level, so basically you'll just do more damage if you build hybrid.

Her base armor has increased (yay, jungling is easier) but oh - wait, it's decreased per level. Well that's kind of annoying, but we'll work with it. Unfortunately is now less useful on Eve because of its lack of on-hit effects (however now has bonus attack speed on-hit effects - for 3 seconds - which basically lets you apply more basic attacks whilst spamming so you end up applying damage more quickly), but fear not, we can use this item slot for a more essential hybrid item on Eve - such as which will give you some nice damage based on your target's missing health (appropriate, considering Eve is a vampire).

Finally, ending on a good note, despite this unfortunate change in the new patch we also have some good news; Evelynn now regenerates twice her current % missing mana while stealth. That's doubled, which is awesome! Now you can really spam your (without worrying about saving mana for ).

Summoner Spells

Essentially I could recommend other spells, but in all honesty taking and are your best options. is a pretty obvious one, since you're a jungler and you're going to need it if you want your buffs from Wolves and Gromp - as well as dealing the last hit to Dragon or any other major jungle creep that's being countered by the enemy. is essential for getting away quickly and making a quick escape. It is possible to swap these spells out with to deal some more damage over time or in order to slow and weaken your enemy - giving you room to cause more damage (and possibly catch up using if they're getting away).

Runes

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

This makes jungling way easier early game, as well as allowing you to gank botlane's ADC and any AD top laner (or, if you're being countered in the jungle by an AD jungler). In general, having armor is pretty useful.

It is true that Evelynn's abilities are hybrid i.e. a mixture of AP and AD, however her auto-attacks are AD. Since she is a melee champion and relies on mainly her and on-hit attacks, we want her to do as much damage as possible with her basic attacks. This applies to both early and late game. Hence, throughout this build you'll find that I favour quite a few AD items in order to boost her auto-attack damage.

Evelynn is very squishy early game, and her jungling ability isn't the best. She tends to struggle early on, needing to go back often or is unable to gank after taking out a camp. I recommend taking these runes in order to build up her tankiness early game and to make it easier for her.

This one speaks for itself. It's pretty much an extension to what I wrote about her marks. Evelynn's auto-attacks are AD (as is - it's also AP, but we'll move on to that later with items) so we definitely want her to do as much damage as possible with her basic attacks. I suggest taking these quints in order to be as aggressive as possible.

Feel free to swap round the order in which you take and . You need to max your first since you spam it practically every 2 seconds any way and it's your main damage output all game (think of it like another auto-attack). Your is essential for its bonus attack speed and extra damage, as is your for massively increased movement speed - essential for ganking. Depending on the game, if you are ganking often and successfully I recommend speccing first (or if you need to run away lots, but let's hope not!) but otherwise one point in early should be enough to get you going. And of course, spec your as often as possible - firstly at level 6. I recommend getting your , and before entering a lane for your first gank (i.e. making sure that you're level 3).

Items

Starter Items

Pretty self explanatory. You'll need and 2x to get yourself going in the jungle (and don't forget your trinket! Having lets you keep an eye on one side of your jungle, to watch for the enemy jungler - or another location such as near drake or somewhere you intend to gank/go to i.e. the enemy jungle). You may want to swap it out later on for if you suspect someone's watching you (e.g. you're low in your jungle, and an enemy jungler counter-jungles to get a quick kill from you. You can use this logic against them, as well).

Early Items

Feel free to buy these in any order. I recommend going for first if you want to make jungling easier, then getting your and asap to increase your basic damage output from spamming OR alternatively get first, to build into which you will need to eventually to build into your . You may want to switch out your with at this point, depending on how the game is progressing.

Core Items

Again, can be purchased in any order. Although getting first will give you a massive advantage in terms of jungling; the extra movement speed combined with your will make ganks quick as ever - allowing you to chase down anyone who uses or tries to get away. However I do recommend building your first to maximise your jungling capacity, then either or Triforce. You'll need both, and it will be situational - so use your best judgement as to what you think is best.

Final Items

Your final items of and should definitely come last. Don't forget to upgrade your boots to since Eve is all about on-hit attacks, having the boost in movement speed for her auto-attacks is a brilliant boost and will help you chase and mow down your enemy quickly. Finally, don't forget your upgraded trinket! This is often forgotten in games and can be very useful. I recommend getting which will allow you to check for which can massively hinder your ability as Eve.
