Introduction

Hello and welcome to my first ever guide. My first guide is my favorite champion. She is a 3150 nuker and is not one of the most popular champions in the game. I have been playing her for about 4 months now and is easily my fav champ. Her ult is amazing. Just yell in /all "IMA FIRIN MY LAZOR" after you snipe someone with it and they will QQ lol. (Im JK don't do that) So please leave good criticism and don't troll vote me! Thanks and enjoy the guide!

Lux, The Lady of Luminosity

Born to the prestigious Crownguards, the paragon family of Demacian service, Luxanna was destined for greatness. She grew up as the family's only daughter, and she immediately took to the advanced education and lavish parties required of families as high profile as the Crownguards. As Lux matured, it became clear that she was extraordinarily gifted. She could play tricks that made people believe they had seen things that did not actually exist. She could also hide in plain sight. Somehow, she was able to reverse engineer arcane magical spells after seeing them cast only once. She was hailed as a prodigy, drawing the affections of the Demacian government, military, and citizens alike.

As one of the youngest women to be tested by the College of Magic, she was discovered to possess a unique command over the powers of light. The young Lux viewed this as a great gift, something for her to embrace and use in the name of good. Realizing her unique skills, the Demacian military recruited and trained her in covert operations. She quickly became renowned for her daring achievements; the most dangerous of which found her deep in the chambers of the Noxian High Command. She extracted valuable inside information about the Noxus-Ionian conflict, earning her great favor with Demacians and Ionians alike. However, reconnaissance and surveillance was not for her. A light of her people, Lux's true calling was the League of Legends, where she could follow in her brother's footsteps and unleash her gifts as an inspiration for all of Demacia.

''Her guiding light makes enemies weary, but they should worry most when the light fades.''
-- Garen, The Might of Demacia

Abilities

Passive: Illumination - Lux's damaging spells charge the target with energy for 6 seconds. Lux's next attack ignites the energy, dealing 20-190 (depending on Lux's level) magic damage to the target.
This is what makes you a nuke. It helps you harrase champions and even get the killing blow. If it is active on a champion and you use your ult on that champ, it ignites like it was an auto attack. So I use it sometimes to finish off a champion with my ultimate.

Light Binding - Lux releases a sphere of light that binds and deals damage to up to two enemy units, dealing 50% effect to the 2nd unit struck.
Fires a ball of light towards a target location, binding and damaging up to 2 enemy units. The first target takes 60/110/160/210/260 (+0.7) magic damage and is bound for 2 seconds. The second target receives 50% of the effect.

Cost
60/75/90/105/120 Mana
Range
10000

This thing is so much fun to use. It not only effects one target, but TWO. I love using it when you have two champions chasing you when you have low health. You just shoot it into the leader and they both get snared and you get away. People think that when they are behind minions, they are safe from you, but if there is one minion between you and the enemy, fire it and he still gets snared.

Prismatic Barrier - Lux throws her wand and bends the light around any friendly target it touches, protecting them from enemy damage.
Lux throws her wand to the target location and back, protecting herself and all allied champions it touches from 50/75/100/125/150 (+0.3) damage for seconds.

Cost
75/75/75/75/75 Mana
Range
10000

I don't really use this much because I mainly play Lux as damage, not support, but it's useful to use by throwing it into teamfights or even using it on yourself or ally when your bout to be finished off by a Karthus ult early game and have it save your life. It's funny when they call you a hacker or something lol.

Lucent Singularity - Fires an anomaly of twisted light to an area, which slows nearby enemies. Lux can detonate it to damage enemies in the area of effect.
Creates a zone that slows enemy units by 14/18.5/22/26/30% (zone lasts 5 seconds). Can be detonated to damage enemies in the area for 60/105/150/195/240 (+0.6) magic damage.

Cost
70/85/100/115/130 Mana
Range
1100

This ability is used for the second part of your nuke, slowing running enemies, slowing enemies chasing you, and revealing fog of war such as brush. There really isn't much about this ability, but using it as a nuke and the other things I listed.

Finales Funkeln - After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam of light that deals damage to all targets in the area.
After a short delay, Lux fires a stream of light in front of her, dealing 300/400/500 (+0.85) to all enemy units in the area.

Cost
100/150/200 Mana
Range
3000

This ult is like the GREATEST ult in the game, It has a great range(however it is not global) and it is fun to just snipe enemies out that think they are safe recalling next to a turret. It has great damage and has little cool down time.(24 Sec. if you get the right items, masteries, and have the golem buff.) It can put up to 1.2k damage if you are nicely fed.

Note: I can't stress this enough, but since Lux is 100% skillshot, please lead your enemies,if they are running right, aim your laser slightly ahead of them. If they are running straight with low health,it's basically a free kill. It's common sense people. Play a few practice games with it till your used to it. OK? LEAD LEAD LEAD LEAD LEAD!!!!

Summoner Spells

What I do.

Ignite: Which I choose for an early game kill,it's helpful for ensuring a kill against a running enemy.

Flash: This is my escape mechanism, I prefer this over Ghost , but honestly,it's all personal preference.

Other Summons Spells:
These are in order from recommended to least recommended.
Ghost: If you prefer to get ghost instead of flash, then go for it,I prefer flash though.

Exhaust: Can be used to stop damage coming to you, or slow enemies that are chasing you or you chasing them.

Clarity: Can be used to quickly restore Lux's Mana, though if you rush Archangles you should have enough Mp5 to not need this.

Cleanse: Can be used to get out of lots of CC,though if you were to get out of a stun or slow ETC, you have no ability to escape from your enemy.

Teleport: If you were to take middle lane, this could help you gain early game dominance by recalling and getting an important item and quickly returning to the lane.

Clairvoyance: If you're one of the players who use this, then go for it. It can be used to great effect with your ult to find those hidden enemies who are recalling.

Heal: This can be used to heal yourself after taking a bit amount of damage,it's kinda pointless late game because the health healed isn't a big amount compared to what enemies can do to you late game.

Rally: Could be used if you get the mastery that gives AP,but honestly, you could get a much summoner spell instead of this.

Revive: If you want to revive yourself in one of those be alive or you lose the game moments, then you can, but it's more geared towards the newer players.

Smite: I really hope you didn't even think about this one on Lux.

Masteries

Put 9 points into offense for the Magic Penetration and Cooldown reduction with a small ability power boost. Put the other 21 into utility with Health and Mana regen,EXP Boost,Mana Regen and Mana boost,Cooldown reduction,Buff Duration, and Summoner Spells CD reduction.

Item Choice

In my build I like to get Mejais, If you do not like Mejais then please don't downvote me for it. You do not have to get it,it's your choice, and also adapt to your situation. If your team is at a 0 kills with enemy at 5 with two of your towers destroyed, DONT GET A MEJAIS.

I like to start off with a Meki Pendant and 2 Health Potion. I do this because it stacks well with your Mana masteries and lets you stay in the lane so much longer then getting a Doran's Ring, especially with the patch that increased the cost of it so you couldn't get a Health Potion with it. It also will help later build into your Archangel's Staff. Though you can start off with either an Amplifying Tome and a Health Potion or a Doran's Ring.

Early game your build should look like this:
X2

After this you should get Mejai's Soulstealer and BootsYou rush Mejais because it does you know good if you become legendary and then get it. Also if you can keep up a good 5 kills without dieing, your Mejais has the worth of a Needlessly Large Rod for a little less then it. If you do not like snowball item's as stated in the not above, you can either replace your Mejais with a Haunting Guise or just move on to your Archangel's Staff by building either your Tear of the Goddess or a Blasting Wand. Though, you should get the Tear of the Goddess first because it provides you with more Mp5 and Mana, plus it's passive which gives you 4 permanent Mana for every ability used. It's also good to get first because if you stack this passive early, it will make your Archangel's Staff's passive (which converts 3% of your max Mana into ability power) worth more because you will already have a good amount of Mana when you get it.

Now at this point, your build should look somewhat like this:

Next off is your upgraded boots. For Lux you have three options:(These are in order from most recommended to least)
1. Sorcerer's Shoes: Are the main boots I usually get because they provide Magic Penetration that's useful against people who try and counter you with MR.
2. [[Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Are good if you need cheap boots or CDR.
3. Mercury's Treads: Are useful if the enemy team focuses you. Though even though these boots provide time reduction to CC, if the enemy team focuses you most in a team fight, you are dead regardless of what boots you have.
Also you will be finishing your Archangel's Staff which provides 2 excellent passives and AP. If you would rather get Rod of Ages then go ahead, though try and get either of these items by the 20 min. mark of your game or they can become worthless.

By the time you get to mid game you should have this:

Your next item, which is a HUGE item for Lux that I don't understand why people don't get it for her is the Lich Bane. This item is amazing for Lux as it gives you
1.Magic resistance
2.Mana
3.Ability power, and good amount of it at 80 AP.
4. It's passive! It goes so well with Lux's passive. The Lich Bane passive does damage equal to your AP on your next auto attack after using an ability. Lux's passive is that she illuminates a target when hitting them with her ability. She can use an auto attack to ignite the light and cause extra damage. Isn't that great???? This item is so important to Lux that you get it before your Rabadon's Deathcap!

Now you should have your core item build complete. It is the following:

Your next item will boost your AP by ALOT. It's pretty obvious what it is, but you guessed it. It is the Rabadon's Deathcap It gives you not only 155 AP, but converts 30% of your AP to even more AP! Though remember this passive is unique, so please don't stack this item. And remember,if you can,get your Needlessly Large Rod first before the Blasting Wand if you have the money.

You should be dominating with a build like this:

After this your next item is pretty simple. You will get either a Zhonya's Hourglass for the defense and awesome active.(Be sure to use it, if you get this item) or you can get a Void Staff for the Magic Penetration. Though if you want to get even more defense then you can get one of the following:
1. Quicksilver Sash for an active that's better then Cleanse and a lower CD then Cleanse.
2. Banshee's Veil to stop incoming CC, for the Magic Resistance, and Health and Mana.
3. Rod of Ages This looks good for the Health and AP. But a small amount of Health won't make much of a difference if your focused.
4. Rylai's Crystal Scepter is the same as Rod of Ages except it has a passive that slows. The issue with it is that all of your abilities beside your ult already slow/snare, so it might not be useful. The most useful thing with the slow would be to just randomly laser in a team fight and see who you can slow, so I wouldn't get it, but if you really want to, then go ahead.

Your final item choice should look something like this:
Damage Build:

^The build above^ is gonna be your main item build. Unless you need survivability, use these items.

1.Survivability Build:

OR OR /

Please note that Moba says the end AP is 367, it actually gets to 750-850 AP depending on which items you get. Moba doesn't count the Mejais, Archangel's Passive and Rabadon's passive I think.

Other Items is coming soon.

Runes

For runes I get:
AP or both Glyphs and Seals. This will give you a decent amount of AP to start with at the beginning of the game.

For marks I get Mana Regen to stack with your Meki Pendant early game.

The last I get for Quints is 2 AP Quints and 1 AP per level Quint. This is to boost your AP more and make you more powerful at the end of the game.

These are no requirements, they are just what I choose to do.
