Introduction

Hey there! My name is PremadeNami, previously known as Trix68 and am currntly Platinum 3 on the NA server. I'm a support/jungle main and Elise has been by far my favorite jungler. Elise is a strong early/mid game AP bruiser who can burst down targets quickly, although she has a very high skill cap she can be very fun to play and very rewarding.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
+ High Burst
+ Amazing Ganks
+ Amazing Counter Gank
+ Good Escape
+ Ultimate at level 1

Cons:
- Lacks "Ultimate" Ability
- Weak Against Counter Ganks
- Squishy Early
- Hard to Master
- High Mana Costs

Runes

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

Current meta for runes, can be swapped out with:
greater mark of hybrid penetration or greater quintessence of hybrid penetration - Gives better damage against champions but will slow down your clear times (jungle creeps already have 0 magic resist).

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - For double AP comps or early damage mid laners.

Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction - Cooldowns are an important choice on Elise, but with CDR already on Magus you'll already hit your 40% cap quick.

Masteries

Best mastery page for Elise in my opinion! Thunder Lord's Decree is actually a fairly underrated and adds up to your immediate burst, not to mention points in cunning actually give you things like hybrid pen and lastly extended buff durations (includes 5th drag and/or baron).

Items

Runic Echoes - Now the dominant jungle item for Elise. The Cinderhulk enchant gives her no tenacity and acts as a sunfire which only supports sustained damage while Elise inflicts mostly burst damage.

Stalker's Blade - Runic Echoes - This item works very well, slows down your target so you can land your stun with ease and helpful in teamfights.

Tracker's Knife - Runic Echoes - Highly popular amongst teams, this is practically a sightstone and is highly slot efficient.

Haunting Guise - Elise's main damage spike item, scales well with magic pen upgrade later into the game once they start stacking HP.

Sightstone - Core item on tank build and probably most overlooked item in the game, vision wins games!!

Frozen Heart - Completes all or Elise's weaknesses, CDR, some defence, and lastly solves her mana issues.

Locket if the Iron Solari - I build this early game if they have a duo AP comp. Make sure to tell your support.

Randuin's Omen - Strong armor item right now, buy it almost every game I play tank, the active is good for chase or disengage.

Banshee's Veil - Good against skill shots like those pesky Thresh hooks or 34530 second morg snares or burst mages.

Guardian Angel - Usually build this on a damage build if you decided to skip CDR.

Void Staff - Strong item against bruisers or tanks.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter - Gives Elise the ability to kite and chase a lot harder.

Zhonya's Hourglass - Kinda exclusive to damage Elise, double invincibility and added armor.

Abyssal Scepter - Great stats and aura for any other magic dealers on your team.

Luden's Echo - Our new AP item is pretty much the weaker version of a Deathfire Grasp designed to improve your burst, synergises well with Elise's kit.

DO NOT BUILD PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!

Sunfire Cape - So I see a lot of people build this and I must say its the dumbest thing to do. The reason is Sunfire Cape promotes sustained damage for tanks while Elise is purely a burst mage.

Spirit Visage - Good item in theory until you realize the healing bonus is miniscule and unnoticeable with
Skittering Frenzy.

Rabadon's Deathcap - The passive of this item has no benefit to Elise as she focuses more on magic penetration than scaling her AP, you're better off with a Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Luden's Tempest.

Skill Sequence and Tips.

Ability Sequence

If you choose to go tank you can max Cocoon second for the longer stun duration and lower cooldown.

Tips:
- Elise's Cocoon gives vision of stunned targets even if they're invisible.
- Rappel reveals the area around it, this can be used to jump to camps or nearby enemies in bushes.
- Taking Volatile Spiderling not only gives you a strong start but can provide bush checking against invaders.
- Spiderlings from your passive ( Spider Queen) can tank damage from monster camps for you.

Comboing

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SMART CAST!!!

To do this go to your options in game and click "smart cast all", you can also scroll to the bottom and add range indicators.

Your first basic combo is crucial in ganking, it will usually drop anyone to about half or lower.
Cocoon-> Venomous Bite-> Volatile Spiderling-> Venomous Bite-> Skittering Frenzy.

Here's a slow version of the combo:

Your second combo utilizes your Rappel as a gap closer and is only good for chasing down low health targets.
Rappel-> Venomous Bite-> Skittering Frenzy

Jungling

When jungling start on your bottom side jungle, your support and adc give a much better leash.
When clearing camps you want to take the least amount of damage so you can be nice and healthy for either another camp or ganking. With Elise you can make your spiderlings tank the damage by walking out as the camp attacks then walk back in. When your spiderling dies switch to Human Form, use some abilities and swap back to Spider Form for more spiderlings. Try and swap the damage between you and your spiderlings.

Here's a demonstration:

Teamfighting

Teamfighting is Elise's weakest role, try and use your Cocoon to pick out the adc. When a fight starts you have one of two roles, support your assassin in killing the adc or help your adc kite from bruisers. Note that late game you'll become more and more useless so try and shut out the game quickly and get your lanes snowballing.

Summary

Elise is a strong jungler who can provide a great presence if played right or otherwise fall off. Although she has a high skill cap she is very fun to play and rewarding.
