SHACO
is a meele assassin, depending on surprising and confusing enemy team. Some of you may think he's in game only to Deceive trough enemy line and just try to kill enemy carry, hoping he'll survive. That's wrong. That's terribly wrong. Shaco need to be tanky in mid/lategame. It might be weird to play this full assassin as tank but trust to me,it's necessary to survive. And with these tanky items it should be even better, because due to your ultimate Hallucinate your team will have 2 tanks!Runes
Using this rune should help you in jungle and in gangs well.
As a tank you'll need as many resist as possible. More armor is better for jungling, mosters won't hurt you so much
There we have same thing as above. This should help you against AP champions,so your gangs vs AP champs won't hurt you that much anymore.
These should give you more movement speed, for greater escaping or chasing enemies down. I choose these over more deffence because still you're assassin, even when you're tank assassin...
- Shaco instantly stealths for 3.5 seconds, and teleports to target nearby location. If he attacks while stealthed, the attack is guaranteed to crit for 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 % bonus damage.
- Shaco creates a Jack in the Box at the target location with 150 health. It will Stealth after 2 seconds, and pop out when an enemy comes near (300 range), fearing nearby enemies for 0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 second(s) and attacking them.
It deals 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 / 95 (+20% of ability power) damage, and lasts 60 seconds while stealthed or 5 seconds while firing. Casting Jack In The Box does break stealth.
- Passive: While Two-Shiv Poison is ready to cast: Shaco's attacks poison his target, reducing their movement speed by 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30 % for 2 seconds. Affected minions also have their chance to hit reduced by 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30 %.
Active: Shaco throws a dagger to target enemy dealing 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+100% of ability power) (+1.0 per bonus attack damage) magic damage, and poisons them for 3 seconds. The passive is deactivated during the cooldown.
- Shaco stealths for half a second and creates an illusion of himself nearby, which deals 75% of Shaco's damage and receives 50% increased damage (Deals half damage to turrets and inhibitors). On death, the illusion deals 300 / 450 / 600 (+100% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies.
Lasts up to 18 seconds.

Standard jungle opening in S3 jungle. Should provide you good sustain and jungling speed with transition into Wriggle's Lantern |
+ |
Lantern is bread and butter for every AD jungler. Amazing passive, free ward, lifesteal, armor and dmg boots. Mobility Boots you have for huge mobility, that every Shaco need. These 2 items are standard stuff for Shaco Junglers, we'll take them too, just because we need to clear jungle faster and have useful gangs. |
Philosopher's Stone into |
I can just wait for flaming stuff like "Why the hell you use Eleisa? It's just ******ed waste of gold". Actually it's not. I'm using this to increase my survivability in jungle and after teamfights. Philosopher's Stone is also giving you gold per sec,so buying this will rapidly lower your potion dependence. Building Eleisa's Miracle and not Shurelya's Battlesong is also really important. Shurelya is not your goal. Because Eleisa will be consumed after 3 levels so buy it max on lvl 15 or it won't be consumed. You need these regens,it's passive about Heal and stuff won't actually ever help you. |
Second core item is for pure health bonus and HP regen. As a tank you will always need Health with Armor and Resist. Your clone has also bonus to health,so it will be easier for you to tank. |
This is probably all I wanted to say about primary items. If you have any questions, ask me in comments or PM me.
This is really amazing item for any tank. It provides 99 armor bonus, 20% CDR , and 400 mana. This makes this item better then Thornmail, which you might see on tanks without mana. But the thing making this item better then Thornmail is passive of Frozen Heart. AoE Attack speed debuff. This is perfect against high AS champions, such as Tryndamere, Jax, Sion or Vayne. I might call this "Game-changing Item" |
If you don't like Iceborn Gauntlet, go for this. On-hit slow (nerfed... :( ),great HP bonus and quite decent AD bonus. I actially don't really recommend this, because going for pure health, without resists is not good idea,(unless it's Warmog) so don't build this everygame,it's not really worth it. Buy it if they have move speed champs, such as Janna or for example Singed . |
Benshee's Veil | Great versus burst champs or champions depending on 1.st attack, such as Blitzcrank or Veigar. Magic resist,Health and Mana bonus is always great, don't be afraid to take this item early,if you have probems to dodge some skillshots. |
Mercurial Scirimar | Amazing item versus big CC team. Pick this if you're facing for example Malzahar with his devastating ultimate. More Magic Resist and AD is great, great and great, try to take this item in mid-late game,it's probably not really worth to pick it early. |
Jungling as Shaco is actually nothing really special. We're about to Take W as 1st spell. At 0:45 put 2 boxes to Wolves and then put boxes on blue buff spawn. It shouldn't be problem to kill it. Ask you top and mid laners to cover you from invade. If something goes wrong, try to steal enemy blue. Also ask your support to ward your red, just to make it safe. Again. If taken, take theirs. If everything goes well, take down Wraights, red buff, golems,Wraights and then gang. Remember, you're not really heading for kills, you should just give your teammates easier lane by a) forcing enemy to use Summoner's spells or b) recalling from lane. It's best to force them do both, but you never know.
This is probably everything from me right now, test my build, try it couple of times and then rate my build fairly! It's honor to write stuff like this,it took me quite long time, but now it's finished! I'll try to update this guide as much as possible,so be patient and Good Luck & Have Fun into your games as Tank Shaco!
