Introduction

Hello to my little guide about the god of pooping, Singed. Singed is a champion in League of Legends, which was considered OP some Months ago, but then, disappeared. Well I don't really know why that happened, because he is still viable. He is a real terrorist in Mid to Lategame and if you play him like a madman, you will win every games. I will show you, how you do that.

Now, lets start with Singed, Pooping on us hurts!

Masteries

1/21/8 is a pretty standard mastery setup for a tank like Singed. Take Summoner's Wrath for the buffed Ghost, no Vigor , Evasion or Honor Guard because these masteries just suck, no jungler masteries like Bladed Armor , but tought skin because it helps you to control the enemy minions, and the mana in utility, because Singed's pooping power earlygame depends onto mana. Aswell the MS because Singed has to get to his target in order to do stuff. Offense sucks on Singed, I mean, nothing usefull except maybe Archaic Knowledge and Sorcery. Full Utillity is also **** because T3 and T4 in utillity flat out suck, so it isn't worth it to get to T5 and T6.

Summoner Spells

Ghost: Why I think Ghost is surperior on Singed than Flash? His whole strategy is about running around the enemy team and applying Poison Trail to anyone. While you could pull off some nasty Fling's with Flash, Ghost's overall utility on Singed is more important to me.

Ignite: This summoner spell can be used for 2 aspects. You either need to shut down your lane opponent hardcore, Ignite+ Poison Trail deals big amounts of damage. Or if you want to stomp noobs. In both ways it works well, but if you get shut down by your lane opponent, this spell is useless.
space
Teleport: Singed is weak early and he has aswell some mana problems. To make laning phase a lesser form of a problem, with Teleport, you can easily go back whenever you want. Aswell you gain Dragon control with this spell because if your team places a ward at Dragon, you can Teleport into a Dragon fight. Finally, it can be used to gank enemies. I don't think Singed really needs offensive summoner spells, so this is my choise for him.

Smite: If you want to jungle with Singed, which is actually viable, you should use this summoner spell. I maybe extend the guide later with a jungle section, because it seems to be as strong as top lane Singed.

Ability Explanation

  • Empowered Bulwark: Every 4 Mana give Singed 1 HP. Basically, this makes mana based items like Rod of Ages or Frozen Heart best on Singed.
  • Poison Trail (Q): POOPING TIME. This is just one of the best and most unique skills in the game. This french mode of fighting is 100% legal and make enemies surrender. (Players which know Singed before the particle rework will know, why this spell has this color)
  • Mega Adhesive (W): One of the best AoE Slows in the game. Once thrown onto the ground, the enemy can no longer move. This is a good teamfight initiation aswell as a good tool to close the gap with ease.
  • Fling (E): Hi, I am Singed, bye, I am Singed. This skill is the trademark of Singed and why he is feared by the enemy carries. If you Fling the enemy carry into your team, he is 99% dead. So use this and win fights. You can also use this to scare enemeies away.
  • Insanity Potion (R): While the other abilities of Singed are already pretty cool, this is the true skill which makes Singed Singed. On activation, you gain nearly any stat in the game for free which makes you nearly unkillable and freak out onto anyone. You can't stop Singed while he is in this mode and this mode easily wins games.

Ability Sequence Order

> > >

Poison Trail is most of the time my starting spell because it is best for laning at lvkl 1. I only start with Fling if there is an earlygame teamfight. I max out Poison Trail first because it is Singed's farming tool and it is most important to deal damage in lane. After that, I find it more important to max out utility first rather than damage. Utility in form of Mega Adhesive is the definition for a tank like Singed, so Fling, which only increases damage when leveled up, is maxed last.

Items

  • : I like Cloth Armor most as a starting item for Singed because your goal is to just stay in the lane and farm. You don't need boots for that, only max survivability. And Cloth Armor + 5 Health Potion's are best survivability avaiable. Also, Cloth Armor builds into fast Ninja Tabi.
  • : On most of my champs I like to get T2 boots as fast as possible. Ninja Tabi are way cheaper than Mercury's Treads and because of that I buy them for earlygame. Of course, if you need lategame more MR and Tenacity, then sell them for Mercury's Treads. This isn't actually a big waste either.
  • Philosopher's Stone: If you feel that you are so much behind that you can't farm properly, you should buy this gp/10. Then you at least generate gold through it's passive. And it helps you to survive your lane longer. After that, still build catalyst the protector, it is very important to have that item.
  • Catalyst the Protector/ : catalyst the protector is a very important item for Singed early. It gets rid of most of your mana problems and it gives you a pretty big amount of HP. It builds aswell into Rod of Ages, which is, for me, the 3. best Singed item in the game. You can actually delay Rod of Ages as long as you want to buy resistances if you need them first.
  • : From the 3. best Singed item to the best Singed item in the game. Many people say "Don't buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter so people are dumb and will chase you". Well, that maybe occurs for >800 elo or pre 30, but otherwise, nobody is dumb enough to chase Singed. And the slow effect is to good to pass up. It basically makes your Poison Trail a giantic AoE slow and nobody can either chase Singed or run away from him. His Fling will also be a great single target slow.
  • / : While a full Frozen Heart is nice to have on Singed, which I consider the 2. best item on him, you don't really need to buy it until lategame. If you want to react onto enemy AD, most of time, Glacial Shroud is enough early. If I face a heavy AD top I go > > and basically counter all his damage. Afterwards I go on with catalyst the protector. But at least buy Glacial Shroud after Rylai's Crystal Scepter, because the cdr is very important to him. Also it makes him very mana independent.
  • / : Same thoughts like on Frozen Heart, except vs magic dmg. Negatron Cloak is a cheap item which you can use to counter mages which get fed or a mage which is sent top to counter you. Force of Nature is definitly better than Banshee's Veil on Singed, because the MS is very important.
  • : ALL THE WAY DAMAGE!!! This is the perfect lategame item for Singed where you are totally unkillable. All you need to get now is damage to hurt the enemy even more. The enemy has then to make a decision: Either focus you and waste all dmg and get killed by the team or focus the team and get killed by you. It is a win/win for you.
  • / : These two items are the offensive counterparts to Force of Nature and Frozen Heart. If you feel like playing a more AP-based Singed these two are definitly the way to go. But you loose very much survival and utility, so it is harder to play. Only do that if you have another main tank on your team.
  • : This is the middle way between Guardian Angel and Rabadon's Deathcap. While Rabadon's Deathcap gives you more damage and Guardian Angel more tankyness, this item gives you through AP and sustain a bit of both. Try this out if you feel you are a little bit to squishy but not by so much that you would need Guardian Angel. Another important thing to mention is that this item works perfectly if your mid laner has Will of the Ancients aswell, the aura will stack and you both get a massive amount of sustain. If your mid laner relies on "double wota", go for this earlier.
  • : If you are still dying with a full build, try this item as last item. Now you are even more tanky and will truly truly never die. And even if, you come back.

The most important part on how to build your champ is to counterbuild your enemies. Knowing when to buy which item comes with practice and you will play better as with a 24/7 standard build.

Why I delay RoA?

Many People ask me why I delay my Rod of Ages in my build. The reason is quite simple. While Rod of Ages is a strong item on Singed, I don't think it is the most important item to build. Sure, it gets stronger over time but that is for me no reason to buy it early and get very important items like Rylai's Crystal Scepter, which allows Singed to get one of the biggest CC-effects in the game, later. And because of Singed's passive Empowered Bulwark, the item pays for itself even before you stack it. And finally, for earlygame - early mid game, catalyst the protector is most of the time enough.

Early Game

Singed and earlygame, well, that doesn't really fit together. Your only goal at this is to farm as much as possible, help your jungler if he ganks(because Singed works great with ganking junglers) and not push your lane to hard until midgame occurs. Also don't let the enemy top roam, if you see that, push your lane and call mia.

It is pretty hard to go oom if you don't push and try to only last hit with your AA. But even if, don't try to.

In this phase, you will buy items like Ninja Tabi, catalyst the protector, sometimes Glacial Shroud or Negatron Cloak. Your goal is to finally archive Rylai's Crystal Scepter and go on into midgame.

Mid Game

At this point, where you got Rylai's Crystal Scepter or at least Giant's Belt from it, you start to pick up. Now you want to harass your opponent with > >block with . This will deal pretty big amounts of damage. Also you want to push now your lane all day long with Poison Trail, because Insanity Potion+ Ghost brings you out of any bad situation. Buy sight ward's to see if the enemy ganks you, so you don't even have to use it. And finally, help your team at early teamfights, especially at dragon, with Teleporting into it.

Your items you want to have here are: Ninja Tabi, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Rod of Ages, Glacial Shroud, Negatron Cloak(if the enemy has no type of one dmg, you can also get the other type of resistance twice. For this you can then use the offensive AP items)

Late Game

Ultimate Singed mode unlocked. At this point, you generally can't loose the game anymore. Singed is at this point one of the best tanks in the game which can initiate fights, counter initiate or break fights up. His heavy cc is great to lock down the enemy team and to seperate them. But try to protect your carries most, because well placed cc from Singed lets even assasins loose.

Singed isn't really great at doing Baron, so he should stay away from it and try to pick up enemies which try to steal it. With his cc lock combo he can easily archive this.

A special Note: How to play Singed correctly

If you have Rylai's Crystal Scepter and some tankyness, this strategy works wonders. If you want to be the ultimate troll and pooping machine in the game, follow this:

First, you find an enemy, so you ask yourself, what to do now. If he is squshy and has no big cc, then go for it with Insanity Potion, Ghost, Mega Adhesive and then Fling so he has to walk through the Mega Adhesive again. Now try to run infront of him applying your slow from Poison Trail and massive amounts of damage. AA if you can, but stay in front of him. If he has to turn around, he has to walk through Mega Adhesive again and then he is most of the time already dead. This they, Singed can be a pseudo anti-carry.

The second way, if you find enemies while you are around 1/2 HP and they think they can kill you, start running away slowly, but so they follow you through Poison Trail, if they get it and turn around to run away, turn yourself around and start chasing them. They will be so trolled they don't know what to do now. If they try to run away completly, do what is stated at top. If they try to chase you again, run away again. This way you are the ultimate troll in the game and nobody can stop you from doing it.

Another thing you have to know is, making your enemy angry over you is also a key to win. If you constantly laugh over them, write "don't chase singed", etc., they will be raging so hard over you and everytime try to chase and kill you, well, then you win by ease.
