Difficult matchup. Don't fight early or you will pay for it. E Q combo will do most of your trading this lane. Avoid his Q and you'll do fine.

Introduction
Reds:Split pen marks. Sions damage is pretty evenly dispensed between magic and physical. Makes early game trades stronger and more devastating.
Bluesand Yellows:Scaling Mr and Armor. Early game isn't the goal here. These even out mid game and make you quite a formidable tank.
Quints:Movement Speed. Makes chasing easier and escapes more consistent.

Most important things to note here are Precision and Thunderlords. More lethality and magic pen from Precision, that's a given. Thunderlord's probably seems like a cheeky Keystone for Sion. He's a tank, after all, wouldn't the Resolve tree suit him better? Well, in some cases, yes, I like to take the Colossus keystone on Sion now. Makes for quite an ult engage. However, Colossus doesn't win you the early game, where Sion is at his weakest. Thunderlord's takes Sion's trades from strong to inane. It's as simple as an E Q auto, or E Q W.
I can't state this enough. Full. Tank. No damage, nothing. If you're feeling cheeky, maybe a frozen fist. But tank otherwise. Sunfire, Visage and Frozen Heart are the Core of this build. As long as you have these, pretty much any other tank item is viable. I'm becoming a fan of building Abyssal on Sion late game to help out APC's and my damage in general. Sion's base scaling on all of his abilities is tremendous. The stat scaling however, is ****. Most of Sion's damage comes from his abilities anyways, so building AD is pretty much useless.
It pretty much breaks down to this. Your early game is okay if you play it right. Trade when Q and E are up, and use ult for all in combos. Your W health passive will quickly make up for the low Hp build. I'll be making a video in the near future with a more comprehensive, in Depth look at laning phase, teamfighting, and build pathing, but for now, I leave you all with this. Good luck in the rift summoners!
