No problem, let me know when the changes happen!

Also, a skill should probably still be maxed by level 9.

So far I've changed the warding tab, my items, and my masteries to suit your suggestions. Let me know if you think any changes should be made. Thanks once again.

Sirill thanks for the constructive criticism, I actually really appreciate it as this is my first guide. If you look in the guide again, I actually wrote a warding section but haven't gotten a picture yet. I'll get to fiddling with the items.

As for you BionicARM I am really grateful for your reply as well. It makes me glad to see that you guys aren't just flaming and picking on my guide, but instead trying to help in anyway you can. So I am grateful.

Ill spend the next half n hour or so trying to fix things up a little. Cheers for the feedback

I'll give you a review on the build as a fellow Thresh player.

Build;

I love Exhaust] too, but consider making Ignite the primary spell.

I hate gold quints. Swap them for AD or health. You ideally should get enough gold for your necessities (Sightstone, boots and **** tons of wards) through assists, counterwarding and objectives.

Scaling MR is kinda cruddy, you dont get much more than if you had just ran flat MR glyphs.

Change starting items to 3 wards, a vision ward and some potions. Good vision coverage and sustain.

Sightstone should be the first item, no exceptions. You realistically will not have a philo, boots and ruby crystal on first back. Average first back for me buys me a ruby crystal and a few wards.

Make your primary boot purchase Mobility Boots. Thresh shouldnt get focused with CC and Mercury's Treads are expensive as ****.

Generally speaking you likely will not afford anything more than Mobility Boots and Ruby Sightstone in an average game. Philo stone is pretty optional. However, Locket of the Iron Solari is now too expensive for supports, and most junglers grab it anyway. You're better off getting a Shurelya's Battlesong if you can.

Remove all the situational items except Randuin's Omen and Mikael's Blessing. You will never afford the rest of them.

Okay, so Pickpocket might not be worth it, but the explorer ward is very valuable, as well as the extra starting gold. Lack of Summoner's Insight is still wrong.

Clairvoyance won't help you win trades like Exhaust and Ignite can. Sure, you can have a bit of map awareness, but as long as you're warding well and you're preventing the enemy from clearing them during the laning, you shouldn't ever need Clairvoyance. General map awareness should just be good enough that you have a general idea of where the enemy is even without Clairvoyance. When you get all-in by a Leona+ Varus combo, Clairvoyance ain't gonna help ****. And 9/10, having that Clairvoyance to scout drakes/barons/blues/reds isn't really going to tell you all that much anyway. I'm not saying Clairvoyance is unviable, Ignite and Exhaust are better 100% of the time.

Thornmail is useless if you don't have the hp to back it up. Sure you're creating damage, but you're still taking damage in return. A better way to prevent that damage is by 10/10 building Frozen Heart. Lowers AS speed and has highest armor in-game. Mana is a bonus. All other situation, Randuin's Omen will do the job just as well. MS slow + AS slow over? Oh puh-lease, this beats that ****ty Thornmail any day. Thornmail doesn't do **** if they're not focusing you. It's a situation item for bruisers, but not for support. As I said, your itemization should be focused on aiding your team, not aiding yourself by shifting the focus off yourself. The same goes for Warmog's Armor. It's a selfish item which shifts the focus off you and doesn't benefit your teammates at all. You already have better hp alternatives which will help your teammates, which means that Warmog's Armor is never an option. You'd be better off spending your items towards that Locket of the Iron Solari, which is actually pretty heavy duty for a support to buy already.

I already explained why Rylai's Crystal Scepter is useless on Thresh - all his spells are CC already, the slow proc on Rylai's is essentially wasted and non-existent on everything except for Flay. Not to mention that a support's money is minimal, so where are you getting the money to fund this item anyway?

Iceborn Gauntlet is a pretty niche item, but again, Thresh already has CC enough and the damage should be coming from your carries anyway. You have better armor choices, better CDR choices and better mana choices. In other words, there is no situation where you should find yourself needing to buy an Iceborn Gauntlet.

Spirit of the Elder Lizard doesn't provide CC. It's purely a damage-based item. And it pretty much requires you to practically build two philosopher's stones, which will offset the GP10 advantage you are supposed to be generating in the first place... You have minimal money, you're supposed to try and be efficient with your money, not wasteful.

If I were to make a comment on the most important bit your missing, it's warding. Little to no mention of wards in a support guide is reason enough to downvote.

Alright, so this is a reply to Sirell. The way I play Thresh tends to get me to win generally most trades in most cases. Sure my mastery choices aren't the best and suited to the way you play Thresh, but it works ALL the time when I play usually play him. As for the Pickpocket, I find their are much better choices in the tree to pick instead. Playing Thresh you do tend to harass a fair bit, but not enough to make the pickpocket worth it.

For my summoner spells I never said they were strong picks, I said they could be possible options if you wanted to mix things up. Some supports, (not me) find exhaust or flash to be rubbish throughout the game and that is why I gave them the option. Just because spells like Clairvoyance are no longer used, doesn't mean it's not viable. It's still a viable choice just rarely used these days as it's seen to be not that great.

Now to cover up my items. I 100% agree with you and that needs to be changed, I didn't notice the mistake in items and that is purely 100% my fault. However, I believe you are just scouting through the web to find things wrong and complain about them. The reason I am saying this is because I said that the Thornamil was a situational item, that being If you are the initiator and there is heavy AD on the enemy team. The Warmog's Armor was there for if you were the only initiator, meaning you would need more health to be able to tank out the incoming damage. The other items such as Rylais Cyrstal Scepter, Iceborn Gauntlet, and the Spirit of the Elder Lizard aren't that great yes, but I've used them in the past successfully, not as a source of damage, but more CC.

As for everything else, Ill give the guide another review hopefully fixing it to improve the gameplay. Thanks for the constructive criticism, I appreciate it.

Every Thresh is flaming that no one clicks on the lantern, fact is that 99% of Thresh's don't know that you can't use it if an enemy is staying on it ..

Sirell I agree with the -1, but on some points you are wrong as well.

* Pickpocket is not that good, 3 gold on each autoattack will perhaps get you 100 gold at the end of lane phase, whereas there are masteries that actually give more gold value. I always run 1/13/16 on Thresh.

*It is perfectly fine to start Flay first for the autoattack poke, just don't do it when invading.

The playstyle that is implied by the way you spec your masteries and skill sequences is a really bad way to play Thresh. It's actually quite a major error, so I'll just work my way through slowly.

Masteries are inefficient. You really want 17 points in utility to get Pickpocket , because Thresh is massive autoattack harasser.

For similar reasons, you want to level up your Flay by level 9 for the extra damage on autoattacks. Maxing shield first lowers your damage in trades in comparison to maxing Flay first.

For similar reasons, you might also want to consider taking AD Marks as well to increase the poke damage.

Other errors include why you don't take Summoner's Insight for the Flash reduction. Far too important to overlook. Also consider Summoner's Wrath for Ignite/ Exhaust buffs. Not necessary, but nice to have.

Items are what I hate the most. There are errors everywhere.

You don't give alternative item starts ( Vision Wards for Evelynn/counter-warding?).

Your 'completed overall build' is rubbish. It exceeds the CDR cap of 40% with 75% CDR. That's just ridiculous. You don't need the CDR from your boots, you don't need Iceborn Gauntlet.

Warmog's Armor, Sunfire Aegis and Rylai's Crystal Scepter are all really bad items to be getting on a support. They are all selfish items and do not do anything in and of themselves to support (especially Rylai's Crystal Scepter.... why do you need this...? Your Death Sentence stuns them, Flay is a knockback and The Box is a 99% slow). Spirit of the Elder Lizard is also a trash item. It's barely taken on junglers since its nerf, why would it be good for support? In any case, remember that it's not your job to deal major damage. You already have an autoattack buff, the rest of your job is pure utility.

Thornmail isn't that great an item either, especially if you don't have the HP to back up the armor.

Aegis of the Legion isn't an optional item if Locket of the Iron Solari is in your mid-game core. It's kinda compulsory, seeing as you have to build Aegis of the Legion in order to build Locket of the Iron Solari.

Many items missing as possibilities: Mikael's Blessing, Mobility Boots, Mercury's Treads, Doran's Shield and Twin Shadows to mention some.

Also lack Enchantment options. You can choose generally from Homeguard, Alacrity and Captain.

Nothing about warding past the first 3 wards in the cheatsheet. Nothing on Oracle's Elixir nor counter-warding.

Barrier is not a strong pick, nor is Clairvoyance, Ghost, Heal or Teleport.

Flash is mandatory. Exhaust and Ignite are your only two options to choose from.

Skill sequence order is false. Every single Thresh player takes Death Sentence first. The only exception is if you've suffered a level 1 invade and you need to rescue someone. In all the other 99.99% of cases Thresh players will start Death Sentence.

The Box is easy to Flash over should not be a con. If you are executing the combo correctly, they should hit The Box nearly every time. The combo is Death Sentence -> The Box -> Flay into wall. Also, burning Flash is not a con in any case. Flash for The Box is a winning trade-off due to the CD difference.

Also, Thresh is not the strongest support in the game. He has his counters like pretty much all champions do. Lulu, Nami and Janna can all play against him effectively.

Overall, a fail support guide which doesn't even cover the basics.
